《Heart Of A Servant》Chapter 10

While I was helping Kyle answer Leo's questions, another part of me was entranced by the contents of a scroll I had just opened in the Magus Stone.
It was a spell that allowed one to create a clone of himself through the use of one's drop of blood and a sacrifice of a being with high vitality.
The higher the vitality of the being sacrificed, the higher the success rate of successfully crafting a usable clone with no defects. There was even a chance to inherit the innate abilities of the sacrifice should the sacrifice be a high-level beast.
The clone would then look like the original with the same appearance and internal organs...with the same blood type even since it had needed a drop of blood of the original to be created.
The clone, since it had been created by magic, would come with innate compatibility with mana, allowing it to embark on the path of a magus with the ability to create bigger mana pools than his peers.
Basically, it was just another body, another trump card or another way to continue living should the original body die.
What scared me was that as long as there were enough sacrifices, one could create as many clones as he wanted...but there was one little problem: a body needs a soul to live.
Since I was soul myself, I had discovered early on that a soul could live on its own despite its fragility since it was its own entity, but that wasn't the case for a body. Without a soul, a body would start decaying.
The only way to take control of the clone would be to infuse it with a part of the original body's soul. No one else could take control of your clone. It had to be your soul corresponding to the same bloodline.
The splitting of the soul was tricky. One mistake meant death by soul dispersion...but I should be able to split a person's soul without any mishaps.
I used to be a Soul Whisperer when I still had a physical body. At my highest level, I had an 8th tier soul. The only reason I'm still around after thousands of years, despite being sealed, is because my soul is that powerful. I'm proud to even say that no one knows souls better than me. It 's a pity that early on I had disdained to practice the Blood Igniters power system because I deemed it a waste of my time or else if I had the same attainment in it as I did as a Soul Whisperer, I wouldn't have died so miserably.

I had wanted to pass on my legacy ever since I was reduced to a shadow of my powerful self and forced to spend my remaining days sealed in a copper ring. If I could convince Kyle to create a clone with my help, I would then have an apprentice with a higher affinity with mana than an average or even genius magus.
It was imperative that I convince Kyle to donate a drop of his blood. As for a piece of his soul, it would have to wait until he reached the 2nd tier as a Soul Whisperer. Most likely, I would have to bring him to cemeteries and battlefields to absorb the lingering souls therein to speed up the process.
Besides, we were in an unknown world, another addition to our party will not hurt us.
It was at that moment that I noticed a beast in a frenzied state resembling a five-meter long black lizard. It was a hundred meters away and was heading in our direction.
I told Kyle: "Kyle there's a tier 3 beast coming towards us."
Kyle abruptly stood up and looked around. He ignored the fact that Leo and his friends were still listening to him and then asked me in an unhurried voice:" From which direction will it come from? What is the distance between us now?"
Leo thought that Kyle had become crazy as he was talking to himself. He said:" What are you talking about? Who are you talking to?"
I answered Kyle:" It will come from the same direction these guys came from. Maybe they've got something to do with it."
Kyle was calmly assessing the situation.
A tier 3 beast was beyond his meager power and there were no senior mages in the group around him.
He could run and he was sure he could reach a safe area before the beast reached them but this party of twenty-five would be doomed. Including Leo, there were five early-stage Junior mages.
The rest were just ordinary humans enhanced with their enchanted armors. Their strength was still unranked and could only be considered as slightly stronger than ordinary humans because they only wore tier 1 armaments.

After inquiring about the appearance of the beast from me, Kyle then looked in the eyes of Leo and then asked: "Did you do something to a tier 3 Black Lizard?
Leo was shocked at first but then intense foreboding hit him. He asked:" What do you mean?'
Kyle answered: "There's a tier 3 Black Lizard coming towards us. It'll be here in less than fifteen seconds. I still have time to run away safely, but you guys are doomed." He paused for a second before he asked, "What are you going to do?"
From the serious look on Kyle's face, Leo and the others didn't even think to ask how Kyle knew of their impending doom because of the fear that had paralyzed them.
With shaking bodies, the twenty humans gathered around the five mages in a circle and drew their swords.
Kyle looked at them preparing for their last stand in silence and then sighed.
"Looks like they did something to the Lizard...hum let me read their minds..." I said before, unbeknownst to them, my mind plunged into theirs.
In less than five seconds, I already knew what had transpired.
It seemed that they had chanced upon its lair when the Black lizard had gone hunting and then stole the four eggs inside.
They thought they had struck it rich at the time as offsprings of tier 3 beasts fetched quite a pretty penny if auctioned. Even if they divided the money twenty-five times, it was enough to live extravagantly for two years.
In contrast, the money that could be made selling beast parts was negligible. It paled in comparison to the appeal of raising a tamed tier 3 beast from birth.
The higher the adult form of a beast cub, the more valuable the beast cub was.
Out of pity, Kyle decided to stay behind and then asked me:" Any idea how to deal with it?"
I nodded saying: "It's quite simple, really. Coat your sword with essence. Have the sword levitate and rotate in a circle vertically. Control the sword with your mind to increase the speed at which it rotates after every circle it makes to accumulate more speed. The more the speed, the better you'll be able to penetrate its skull when you release the sword. The essence coated on the sword will then rampage in its brain turning it into mush, killing it...if you fail, we'll risk exposing me when I intervene."
"Got it." Kyle said as he made his way towards the front to be the first to meet the beast when it arrived.
He took out his branded sword and then followed my instructions.
As the sword rotated, after each passing moment, the air in the surroundings seemed to be in disarray.
The speed at which the sword rotated increased until only a shadow of the sword could be seen.
Several seconds later, the Black Lizard arrived at the edge of the clearing.
It was at that moment that Leo and the four other Junior Mages simultaneously cast a spell. It seemed to be the rudimentary Earth Spikes spell.
Three meter long spikes sprouted from the earth below the Black Lizard.
Unfortunately for them, it did no damage. The Lizard went through the spikes like a mad bull, destroying everything in its wake.
Kyle was biding his time. He was even giving the mages credit as they gave him even more time to complete his sword's rotation speed.
After the Earth Spikes were the Raging Inferno spell which also did nothing at all against the Lizard's thick scales.
Leo Crane was about to give everyone the order to disperse in all directions and then rally at Braco city. That way, there would be more who survive.
It was then that Leo saw Kyle wave his hand and the sword was released and headed towards the Black Lizard leaving behind an afterimage.

8 203Covenant Sinners: The Origin of a Demon Queen
Demon-slayer knight Hector Aeronwen became an enemy of all humankind after saving a dying half-demon girl out of pity. Little did he know, his impulsive action had forever changed the course of the world and the fates of many. This is the story about Hector's desperate quest and the beginning of the demoness whose destiny is to shake the world to its very foundation. Author's note: At the risk of spoiling too much of this story, I want to reveal a bit about the core idea behind this work of fiction. I set out with the idea to write a story in the perspective of the second in command of a demon lord, which then would be followed up with large scale kingdom buildings and warring states. But then I asked myself: what past do they have between them for the Demon Lord to have so much faith in her second in command, and for him to be so loyal to such a horrible being? So this is my attempt at writing the origin of those two, who, while hated by all races in the world, still have each other as the only confidant to entrust their life to. If you are like me and want to see where this premise, with a vague destination in mind, will lead to, please have a read and give me your valued feedback!

8 120Dreamland invasion
Dear Humans,I am very sorry that I have to inform you about the upcoming invasion of our world by foreign forces. We, the management, want to sincerely apologize for allowing this oversight. Sadly, the degree as to which we can interfere in this conflict is severely limited as this would allow the opposing party to act in a similar manner. But please don't worry, contingencies have already been implemented to maximize the effect of the little support we can give. Thus we ask you, to work together in stemming the coming tide, so that humanity may remain on the victorious side. As long as humanity beliefs, there is hope.Yours truly,God of public relations
