《Im a Kobold, So what》Chapter 25 Preperations

I let out a soft yawn. I jump out of the bed ready for the new day. [Max you up]? {Yes I am}. [Alright let's get this day started]. I walk downstairs to get breakfast. A waiter comes to my table. "What would you like to order"? [I'll have the beef]. "That's three copper". I hand her the copper as I wait for my meal. Two people start making a ruckus behind me. "Oi, what did you just say"? " I said you smell like a giant dump". "I'LL SHOW YOU". A brawl breaks out it's loud but I'm too hungry to care. "Here's your food". The staff didn't seem worried about the fight so I'm guessing it happens quite often.
[Time to eat]. I stab my fork into the beef and pick the entire thing up. Drool hangs from my mouth as the steam hits my nose filling it with the wonderful smell. -KRKK- I bite down only to have my teeth hit pure ice I look down to find that a stray ice spell hit my steak freezing it completely. A tear ran down my cheek as I emitted a powerful bloodlust. I walk over to where the brawl is going on. I then pin down both of the people who started the fight. [Pay up]. "Huh"? [Pay for the beef you guys shot with ice magic]. "Or what"? I change my staff into a Dagger and stuck it into the ground a few centimeters away from his face. [Or we will see how much flesh a man can lose I think that's fair compensation for ruining my meal].
(Skill Activated: Intimidate)
I was hungry I couldn't forgive them for getting in between me and a warm meal. "A-Alright just calm down". He throws the copper to the ground which I pick up and go to the waiter. [More food please]. She only sighs and takes the money while going to the kitchen. I go back to the table waiting for another.

I finally get my meal and it was great. *FINALLY SOMETHING OTHER THAN CHICKEN*! I finish eating and make my way out. It seems that the people I threatened would try their best to avoid me. I guess I should go pick up that armor. I jump from rooftop to rooftop heading to the blacksmith. -DINGALING- I open the door to the shop and head in. "Oh, it's you". [Is it ready yet]? "Yup I worked on it all night long. The look on his face told me that he didn't do this for me but for the money. [Let me see if it's satisfactory. He produces a red-scaled vest and leggings with a white inside. The scales provide a lot of protection while the Kraken leather makes it easier to move in. *Let's see if he is telling the truth. [Status]
(Name: Salamander Scales armor)
(Effect: Defence + 500 Vitality + 300, Fire resistance, allows the user to enhance the armor using fire magic)
(Name: Kraken Leather Undershirt)
(Effect: Defence + 150 Agility + 300, Water resistance, Fire Resistance, Water Magic Attack + 200, Allows the user harden the armor using Mana if done defense increases to + 800 however agility is lowered to + 50)
Wow, this is some great stuff. [Quality looks good so here you can have this]. I produce another large bag of gold the same size as the last. His eyes greedily shine as I leave after equipping my new armor. {You know you gave him more than his shop is worth right}. [It doesn't matter we have the money plus this makes him more willing to do work for us in the future just call it an investment]. Max sighs, [So where to now]? {If I remember correctly there is a dungeon near the city and it's a lot weaker than the one we went to but it will allow us to test new strategies for the tournament}. [Guess it wouldn't hurt]. I began running using my advanced Mobility to get over the wall. [So where is it]. {See that giant rock}? [Yup]. {The entrance is on the other side}.

I Walk over to see a small cave-like entrance with many adventurers around. I could hear the people around me whisper. "What's a Kobold doing here"? "Don't know but maybe we can exploit him". I ignore their annoying babbling and walk inside.
This dungeon was way smaller than the hidden dungeon and also was a complete joke. The monsters consisted of level five through ten dire bats and undead. The worst we found was a level fifteen minotaur but we spent more time talking up strategies than actually taking it seriously which seriously pissed it off. -RAGGHH- [I think we could chain the phase step as well as Dance of the Dagger to make a more powerful version]. {Yeah we could try that}. The minotaur was confused as to why a Kobold wasn't cowering before him. [We could also try to chain some void magic but that would be kinda tricky]. {I say we stick to the Dance of Daggers idea}.
-RAUGH- The minotaur had enough and began charging at me.
(Skill Activated: Phase Step)
(Skill Activated: Dance of Daggers)
In an instant, deep cuts began appearing on the minotaur. I couldn't consider this a dance anymore it was now a tornado.
(Alert: Dance of the Dagger has Evolved into Furry of Knives)
Interesting seems like I'm able to use skills to evolve other skills. -GRGLGLGL- The minotaur started drowning in his own blood. It was very disturbing actually. [And there goes my lunch]. {Good you didn't need it anyway}. [HEY WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN]!? We continue deeper into the dungeon and find the boss room. [Alright I have high hopes for this boss room maybe it will give us a challange]. {Agreed it's been too boring so}. We open the door with high hopes. Inside was a beautifully decorated room with a throne of gold. On that throne sat a skeleton cloaked in black robes. [Status]
(Name: Lich)
(Race: Undead)
(Level: 30)
(Strength: 68)

(Magic Points: 340/340)
(Skill Points: 54/54)
(Skills and Magic: Syth Arts, Necromancy - Basic, Necromancy - Intermediate, Command)
(Titles: Dungeon Boss, Commander)
What a let down this thing is extremely weak maybe it's because of the Kraken fight and troll but this seemed like an insect compared to them. [Max just take care of it]. {Understood}. Skeletons rose from the ground as the lich crackles in delight. The Greatsword shined a bright blue as it materialized next to Max. -FWOOSH SHINK- -SKRIIIEEEE- The Greatsword goes straight into the chest of the lich. It lets out a cry as it slumps over in the throne dead. The Greatsword disappears. We stand there for a bit.
[Seriously not even a level what a waste of time]. {Don't speak too early we still have the treasure to grab}. [Your right let's go]. We go to open the door as a large chest sits in the middle of the room. We open it up and inside sits a ring. [Status]
(Name: Ring of the lich)
(Effect: Magic Capacity + 50, Allows the wearer to cast Basic Necromancy spells)
Of course, it's useless. I already have an insane Magic pool and because of my staff, I can already use Necromancy. I know that Max's equipment is also plus fifty but you need to remember those came from minibosses this was from the main boss of the dungeon. I let out a disappointed sigh. [What a waste of time]. I grab the ring and equip it. *Might as well equip it, we can always sell it later*. [Let's just leave I'm getting tired]. {Alright let's go}. We walk towards the exit of the dungeon tired after this long day.
(Title Acquired: Dungeon Conquerer)

8 102Naruto Retsuden: Toru
[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance? It'll take at least 40 chapters or more before anything romantic happens.Realistic depictions of War from a child's perspectiveBlood and goreChild SoldiersPTSDRealistic character developmentTragedy. A lot of tragedy. Critiques much appreciated!
8 108The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.

8 162Marked for Death
A deathworld version of the Naruto setting, a team of missing-nin fleeing from Mist into Fire, and one disaster after another. What could possibly go right? MfD is a quest that has been running on SufficientVelocity since 2015. Velorien and I co-author it and he has agreed to let me re-post his chapters here. "Quest" in this context means that after every update the readers vote for what they want the protagonist to do next. SV updates on Thursdays and Sundays.
8 163Door 42
A first person account of an unplanned trip to a secret moon base, where I make new and interesting friends, reopen the moon's most amazing backalley bar, and rediscover the long forgotten secrets of lunar land speed racing and the moon's first hot rod club... and then some. Soon to be a campy, direct to DVD B-movie featuring Bruce Campbell as "Al"! (No, not really... but it sounds good in my head.) I write a better story than a synopsis, I promise.
