《Starbound: A Space Odyssey》Traitor (6)

Once the forcefield on the aircraft was down to shot at the mechs, the Rebellion's soldiers on the ground retrieved Rocket Launchers from their arsenal and shot at the hovering vehicles.
*BOOOM!*
The rocket hit right at one of the aircraft's engine. Without one of it, the aircraft lost control and started to fall to the ground.
And so it began the battle between both sides.
While the mechs were fighting mechs, soldier against soldier and aircraft, Jevil and Itsuki had their own fight in a place not very far away.
Jevil unleashed a restless barrage of punches towards Itsuki with his burning gauntlets.
Itsuki was forced to maintain in defensive while she relayed at her Reiketsuna katana and the Barrier Tech Ability to fend of against Jevil's ruthless attacks at aimed at tricky and deadly spots.
*Whoosh*
She jumped backward once she felt another impending attack. Against a person such as Jevil that was proficient in using his fists, she had to maintain a certain distance between them, and this way, she would also be able to better use her sword.
Jevil bent his knees and sprang forward, not allowing Itsuki to widen the distance between them.
"Hah!" With a low shout, the fire in his gauntlets burned even brighter and stronger and traveled toward Itsuki.
Seeing the fire fist right before her, Itsuki's eyes shone with a cold light.
*BAM*
"Tch." Jevil clicked his tongue in displeasure once he saw that his punch landed in a wall of ice.
He retrieved his hand that was buried deep in the wall and glanced at it.
The gauntlet was drenched in water that came from melting the ice. The raging fire in his right hand had utterly died out because of the water.
"Stealthy activating your Pyrokinesis Tech Ability..." Itsuki calmly walked from behind the ice wall and spoke in a grave tone, "You sure like to fight dirty, don't you?"

Pyrokinesis was a Tech Ability that allows the user to control the vibrations of molecules around him, thus increasing the heat and generating fire. The consume of UE was extremely high, so the user should be cautious about when and how to use.
Jevil cleaned up the water on his gauntlet and smiled, "There's no way around it; after all, I was a pirate and outlaw for most of my life. I know no concept, such as honor and loyalty."
"That's how humans are... sly and deceitful creatures."
"Not all of us are like that. If you say something like that, then I can say that Hylotl's are nothing more than greedy, cold-blooded aquatic creatures. You also used your Tech Ability just now to create this ice wall, Cryokinesis." Jevil rebutted with a shallow smile on his lips.
Cryokinesis was a Tech Ability that allows the user to control the molecules of water in the atmosphere, stopping their vibrations and thus decreasing the heat until they became ice.
"There's no point in keep talking." Itsuki sheathed her katana and slightly bent her knees. "To clean up my name, and the name of my clan, I must capture you today." The wind around Itsuki became even fiercer than before. Her eyes radiated a frost and dangerous glow as they fixated in Jevil's body.
"Wahh~ scary~" Jevil said in a fearful tone and flinched himself before laughing out loud, "HAHAHAHAHAHA... why staring at me with such fierce eyes. Let's have some fun~, Itsuki~" Jevil eyes shone with a mad light as his smile widened.
He raised his hands, and with a small motion, the fire in his hands started to burn once again.
As his mind wandered into his past, Jevil's black eyes started to burn with a fiery fire of hatred.

The fire around the Jevil's Agni's Hands increased in intensity as it seemed to feel the burning hatred inside Jevil, and such it answered by increasing the flames.
A shallow smiled blossomed in his face as both stood in fighting stance, staring at each other while in the background the clash between both sides were still madly ongoing, with Nova Rebellion's soldiers slowly dying and losing.
Sounds of explosions, metal clashing against each other, the noise of electricity, and corrosive projectiles melting armors, were just about a few meters away from where both sides were facing one another.
"Hah!" Jevil made the first move and jumped towards Itsuki.
As she watched Jevil approaching, the world seemed to slow down.
Her eyes glinted with coldness, her grip on the katana tightened.
Just as Jevil's burning hands were about to hit her, she quickly moved to the side and unsheathed her sword in a blindly fast motion.
Jevil saw that his target dodged his track and wanted to switch his stance to follow up with a kick at Itsuki, but he didn't have the chance since all he saw was a quick and white flash coming directly towards his neck.
He moved his head downwards to save his life, but...
*Swish*
*Slash*
Blood rained upon the white snow.
With a muffled sound, something fell in the snow. On closer look would reveal it was Jevil's glasses, but it wasn't complete, it had a part missing of it.
"Argh..." Jevil groaned in a low voice as he clutched his head between his hands.
The crimson red liquid dripped from his finger down to the ground.
Despite Jevil bleeding, Itsuki katana remained clean and beautiful as it gleamed with a chilling light.
Itsuki's face was cold and calm, like nothing in the world could enter in her sight.
Completely different from how she was acting earlier. Her crimson eyes coldly watched as Jevil groaned in pain and stopped the bleeding on his face.
"Give up." Her voice was ethereal and chilling. "You never stood a chance against me."
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" Jevil angrily laughed as he kept the left side of his face covered by his hand while he used his right eye to glare at Itsuki, "This ain't over yet. I'm not done."
He slowly revealed his left side of his face.
Blood dripped from the deep cut that was horizontally presented on the left side of Jevil's face.
His left eye... destroyed and drenched in blood.
Such big and deep cut would surely leave a gruesome scar once healed if healed.

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
