[Chapter 4]

I stumble away from school after this.

I look around me. Everything is darker than usual. There is no light in this world. I begin chuckling crazily to myself- tears begin to well up in my eyes.

I decide not to go home tonight and instead head up to the country fields in the west. It’s about a 10 minute walk.

As I walk past a shop window, I fail to notice the news headlines that read, “Stay indoors tonight! D-Force, following by B ranked heroes will be deployed to City J tonight to prevent the attack of an unclassified attack!” City J is my city.

By the times I head to the fields it is nearing night. The sky turns a spectrum of different beautiful colours. I lay down on the grass underneath a tree, staring up at the developing stars.

But as it get darker, my thoughts return to become darker as well. Looped images of my sister, my mother that I never met, people mocking me, nursery children laughing at me. Everything. I tried to cry. I wanted to. But I couldn’t. I tried to be happy. But I couldn’t do that either.

I curl up in a ball and the evil thoughts are at their climax.

Out of nowhere, sharp pains attack me. I don’t know what from. But I can feel it; like ice cold picks slamming into my head. I grab my neck and start screaming as hard as I can. It hurts so much. I try thinking peaceful thoughts, but they are replaced by thoughts of evil. The pains are non-stopping attacking me from all my sides. It feels as if my hair is being pulled out and replaced individually. I try fumbling for my phone in my pocket but my hands are paralysed. I lay there on the ground groaning in pain until I see a light in the air so bright that it blinds me.

Suddenly, as I lay on the floor paralysed, I see something dark and the size of a small rat approach me. I try to follow it as it scuttles to the right of me but I cannot train my head in that angle.

Without warning, the rat disappears in a puff of black smoke and is replaced with a long snake like creature. It is at least 10 meters long, and its head is the size of a football. It slithers on top of me, the texture of its skin like sandpaper.

As it goes onto my chest, I try screaming but no sound escapes. Its bright purple eyes stare into mine, I stare into its.

“Youuuu feeeeelllll haaaatreeeeeddd” It hisses. I am nearly at the brink for passing out from the sharp pains that are still persistently stabbing me.

“Itt huuuuuuurrrrrtssssss, yesssss?”

I have just enough energy to nod.

It laughs, a cackling like sound and continues.

“I ammmmm aa symbiooottteeeeeee.”

I gasp. But I still can’t speak.

“Youuuuu areeee devoiiiiiid of emmoooottttiioooons exceppptttt hatreeedddd. You possseessssss potentiallllllll.”

I do not feel like agreeing with it, but it is true.

“Youuuuuu areeee worrthhhhy of innnhhhhheeerriting my powerrrrrr. Do with itttttt, As youuuuu waaaaant. Buttt be waryyyy.”

The snake’s mouth moves right next to my ear, “Ittt requiiiiireeeessss a sacriiiiifffiiiice”

I try to scream out “NO!” but I cannot speak. Everything is in black and white, and I no longer feel the pain but just a tingling feeling across my body.

The snake’s mouth latches onto my right bicep. I feel the sharp teeth dig into my flesh, cracking my bones. I try to scream, but instead a small whimper comes out. I feel it pull back, ripping out my right arm; my bone is forcefully torn out of its socket. The sudden climax of pain sends me into unconsciousness.
