《Godling》Chapter 3

In a room filled with elves a young elf kneeled before a group of elves sitting around a crescent table that sparkled with a mystifying sliver light.
"I've come to report the situation of the battle field elders!" His voice was filled with reverence and he was squirming with nervousness.
"What is it then, we don't have all day!" A dark skinned elf looked at the young elf with a look of impatience and annoyance.
"General Daymin believes that the battle is a pointless fight, he says that they will only be able to hold for at best another month, less then three weeks at worst."
The young elf continued to squirm in fear of angering the elder.
sigh
"It is as we thought, our people aren't enough to hold back the army of undead..." A tall golden skinned elf had a sad look on her face.
"Does anyone have any ideas on how to escape from our fate?" A tanned elf looked around the table with hopeful eyes.
"I'm sorry dear, but you know as good as us that our fate is unavoidable by now..." The tall golden skinned elf spoke with sorrow.
"...we might have a way..." A pale blue elf looked around the table before a sigh escaped his lips.
"Our people have been researching a way to escape this mess...but its very risky and not all of us will be able to escape."
"Then what is it?" The dark skinned elf looked at the pale blue elf with a hopeful look.
"It's a highly secret magic that my people are able to harness, we are able to use the power of the stars and moon to move from one place to another, but so far we never used it to travel between...worlds..." He let his words sink in as a looks of recognition appeared on their faces.

"You seek to escape this mess by leaving our home planet?" The tall golden elf women had a look of astonishment.
"Are you even sure it's possible?" The dark skinned elf also had a hard time believing the pale blue elf's words.
"Were not a hundred percent sure and where not able to choose the location we'll be brought too...but it's a high possibility it would work."
"And you've just been keeping this a secret!" The tanned skinned elf had a look of anger as she accused the pale blue elf.
"It is a secret art of our people, and experience has shown that showing such things lead to ruin..." His words made the elves flustered and look away ashamed as his piercing gaze looked at each one of them.
"It doesn't matter now, but we have an escape route, but it is like i said, not everyone will escape and it takes at least a month to get the ritual ready..."
The elder consel continued to discuss plans for escape while their war with the undead progressed.
The planet continued to progress as the years continued to pass, the temperature started to drop and some of the areas of the planet stopped experiencing constant erupting volcanoes.
In some places pockets of water started to form very quickly evaporating over time due to high temperatures. As the process continued to repeat its self the planet continued to cool down until the pockets of water were able to last permanently on the surface of the planet.
The single celled organisms thrived within these oasis's as they could adapt far easier in a much cooler temperature. If looked at with mortal eyes then all you would see is a pool of water, but hidden beneath was a world of quickly adapting organisms that continued to progress on their journey to becoming multicellular organisms.

The crimson dragon's continued transformation caused the surrounding area to not only stay covered in ever flowing lava but also continue to rise in temperature. It wouldn't be long now for her to be completely purified of the curroptive chaos energy.
Some of the dragon eggs actually showed signs of movement inside, every now and then their eggs would shake as if being shoved by the dragon inside the shell. Some of the larger eggs even had a couple shallow cracks.
As all this was happening the energy around the chaos started started to fluctuate sporadically.
The man continued to follow the same routine each day, get up, get dress, and out the door only the return completely exhausted and quickly fall asleep.
As the days continued to pass his condition continued to worsen and for some reason he seemed to be totally oblivious of the current state of his body, until one day he didn't return home.
Instead a young women entered the apartment and started to look around the place.
"Stupid idiot, didn't even relize that he was slowly working himself to death..."
After a bit of searching she grabbed some of the mans cloths as well as a laptop hidden underneath the bed. Without her noticing a pale blue light jumped from the mans computer into the laptop.
"He won't be needing his laptop while he's hospitalized so i'll borrow it for now."
And with that she left the apartment.
The planet continued to thrive as the temperature continued to drop while lakes of water could be found all over the planet. Clouds could be seen sprawled all over the sky and some life was able to form on the land surrounding the lakes.
Small patches of flowing green grass could be seen dancing in the wind around the lakes, and life had an easier time developing in the lakes due to bunch of different single celled and few multi celled organisms. Their was even some organisms that started to become more developed, a small fish that thrived in the lush shallow areas, a slightly larger fish that hunted the smaller fish, etc.
In one of the largest lakes on the planet the life held within was around ten times greater the any other lake. During the full moon when enough moonlight touched the surface of the water it flowed with a gentle azure glow.
The life held within the lake held many secrets, from the glowing blue fish found at the bottom of the lake to the aquatic forest they inhabited. Deep within the forest a mysterious creature appeared that kept to itself hidden by the forest.
The only time it showed itself to the lake inhabitants was when a dragon egg found its way at the edge of the lake before returning to the forest.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet!
