After Brynhilder was done blabbering on about, class skills, and things that I honestly could not wrap my head around. I mean I ran a criminal empire for gods sake. How the hell was I soppossed to know that playing DnD might actually be important when I died.
Which I was beginning to realize that this world I was going to was basicly just a DnD game on steroids with just a pinch of death. So basicly life but somehow worse. Well at least there wasn't any pay to win or loot boxes! Silver linings.
I sighed and followed her instructions on how to pick my race. I scrolled past ork as green is bad color on me. Didn't want to be something I had already tried out and knew it to suck, so skip on human. Dwarfs where a no go on simple principle of not wanting to be a short drunk. And then my eyes shone with wonder.
I had found it. The perfect race!.

Without even a smidgen of hesitation I chose the catkin race, and with that I started picking out my class skills.
Which there where a surprising amount of. Ultimately I chose [leader] cuase it seemed to fit well with my race. And [alchemist] cause drugs, duh!
With that finished I took one long look at my character profile, and smiled with triumphant success. Suck it death, even you can't stop me from selling drugs. Pay no attention to the fact that I never actually sold drugs myself, that's a minor detail.

...........
"Well it appears you are done, now by random selection and not becuase of your rude glare and my general dislike of criminals." She said pausing just to emphasize the sarcasm "you will be born into the country Lernom, which oh no! It appears it's in the middle of a civil war. Well have fun now!" She said before waving her hands and sending me off to a new world.
(5 years later)
It had been 5 years since I had been summoned to this place. My "mother" had died while bringing me into this world, which 1/10 would not recommend going through THAT again.
My father was a former assassin, which while he trued to hide it became pretty obvious when I noticed that all his skills where stealth based and that he likes to wear cloaks.

Today I gathered erbs so I could turn them into potions, a skill that turned out to be very useful. As it turns out a country in the middle of a civil war had a great market for lesser healing potions.
I hadn't been able to figure out much on account of being a child, but apparently the king had been cuaght in an affair, which sparked wars on Twitter as much as it sparked wars in fantasy land.
Bending down I picked up some arkweed, a blue glowing plant with a purple flower at the top. My tail swished in the wind, my cat-like ears poking out of the cheap drags I was forced to endure wearing.
"Hey greenboy" my ears perked up as I heard the sounds of the local bullies. "Dammit harold." I cursed under my breath. As I began running through the shacks and filth covered streets that made up the part of town I did business in. Times had become tough for everyone here, which was great for me!
Unfortunately it meant that the most profitable place for me and my friend was also the most dangerous, and many of the local bullies had tried to harass me and Harold on every occasion.
Honestly how many times do you have to beat the shit out of someone until they Learn? It's so rude of them to keep hitting my hands with their faces.
I sighed and approached stashing away my arkweed in a hidden pocket stitched into my drags.
Harold was small for an ork, due to his mother being a human I had guessed. Which of course meant that he was a magnet for that ever stupid species of human, known only as the bully. A creature that had learned to thrive in any environment. A true pest worse then any cockroach.
"Harold stop stalling and beat them up already." I said as I got a good look at the soon to be prey. They where two boys about 12 years old, scrawny but still had a little muscle on them. Idiots probably thought cause Harold was only 5 he would be easy prey. I guess a species litterly known for being able to rip a man's arm off was a great idea to bully for some pocket change.
One of the boys turned to me as I approached. Getting a good look at his face he was actually kinda, really, really! ugly. Having barely any teeth and his skin had a yellow sickness to it that just reeked of someone who had not eaten properly in years.
L"Stay ou-" He tried to say but I simply snatched his tongue making my eyes as big and adorable as possible. "Cat got your tongue?" The boy looked at me with disbelief my [adorable] skill making him see me as less of a threat.
I acted on his moment of surprise, kicking him in the groan, and letting his tongue go as I had to evade a strike from him. If you could call windmilling your arms like some kinda wierd bird a strik. I sidestepped the strike before grabbing his arm in an arm hold, while I was technically weaker then most people, I had not lost my knowledge of modern martial arts.
His buddy didn't fare much better, Harold punching him in the face. Getting blood over dirty ragged pants, and his shirtless chest showing off a few scars he'd earned from fighting. Despite being only five, he had a muscular figure. His face had long tusks patruding from his mouth. He began to pummel the poor fool, while I stomped mine as hard I could in the throat.
It was over in about 30 seconds, which honestly annoyed me. I mean come on! A fight should last at least 5 min! "I got the herbs, let's just head home before some more idiots show up." He nodded and away we went through the magical land of hell on earth, to home.

Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice. Carus - Libertas
participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge and also having a go at NaNoWriMo this November. This was a first draft published as it was written for Nanowrimo November 2020. A little rough around the edges, I hope to come back and edit at some point, and then continue the story on. In the grand scheme of things Elias was nothing special. Which was why he was surprised by a random company on a new colony planet buying out his contract. That was the problem with the large companies that ruled the colonies, once they owned your contract, they owned you. Imagine the greater surprise when he learnt that the new company held the promise of freedom. Not from the constant battle against the Swarm that were also trying to claim the colony planets for their own. Nor from the Crust, the mysterious substance that covered the same planets and held the resources they all fought for. No, the freedom from being oppressed by those with more power and to finally decide where to go and where to set down roots and call home.

Authority [Dropped]
Notice: Updates are set to every other day. Or to be precise every 2-3 days. Thank you! "The theory of evolution was introduced by Charles Darwin and it baffled the world. Going by the same principle as Darwin's theory all living organisms by nature are capable of evolution to an extent. Evolution in games are always just limited however this is not a game but rather reality. However the only thing that stagnates the whole premise of evolution is the environment. Environment is always the number one factor of evolution. Going by that logic. Stimulation for survival is needed to evolve and better suit the environment. " - Titus
