《Exploit》A good celly sleeps on his belly
Advertisement
Fun fact: getting knocked out can lead to head-aches, nausea, and a white hot seething rage. As I awake in my cell I'm overwhelmed by the first two, and then the third. I appear to be bound with my hands in front of me and no leg restraints, so that's nice. The downside is that even if I had mastery of all magics, I cant seem to access my mana. If I had to wager, I'd say its the strange scrollwork on the manacles. Guess I'll have to use good old fashioned brute force and common sense to escape my captors.
My cell has a small grate in the corner, a relatively comfortable looking bed, and stone walls on all sides. The door appears to be wrought iron, and no, there doesn't appear to way a way to unlock it from this side, even if I could magic up a key. Seems as though they don't want me getting out. Sadly for them, that's my only concern at the moment. Well, that and getting my gear out of Trixies inn.
After a few hours a little slit opens up in the door and a tiny package comes sliding out. It reads, Dear Justin, this is Vekel, produce mana crystals if you want to keep eating, enclosed is the key for your manacles, fail to produce and we might forgot to feed you. P.S. no hard feelings, you were just an easy mark and those mana crystals sell for five times what I was giving you. FUCK ME, that traitorous son of a bitch, I thought. If I ever get out of here I'm going to feed him his fucking liver.
Well, might as well get started I guess. I quickly remove my manacles, and after rubbing my wrists to get some feeling back in them, I get down to business. At least I'm used to making these damn things by now. Crystal after crystal after crystal, I go through more crystal thank a junkie in the south. I make sure to imbue them and make them up to par with my old ones, but I don't make enough to drain all my mana. I keep about 10% of my mana on me and quickly burn through it practicing fire magic each time I make a pools worth of crystals. Speaking of which, I should really checkmy status, it's been awhile and this is one of the few advantages of being in this world. With a thought my status opens up.

Well fuck me, with an affinity that low I doubt I'll be able to kill a damn slime. Seriously, I need to work on that if I ever plan to get out of here. I don't know what kind of affinity and mana capacity I'll need to burn through a wrought iron door, but I don't think I'm anywhere near that. I need to buckle down, and work on controlling my fire. If only I knew how to enchant things! I could make mana crystals all day, enchant my boots or something for strength, and kick that damn door down. But then would I need endurance to match my strength? Wouldn't my leg just snap like a twig? That's a scary thought, but anyway, I need to stop wasting time and buckle down. These fuckers don't know who they captured. Time to make them pay!

A Beginner's Guide to Napping, Sunbathing, and Slaughtering Your Prey
Fang is a simple cat. Fang likes napping in the sun. Fang does not like being called Chairman Meow. Fang likes his belly being scratched for precisely 17.329 seconds. Fang does not like being punted between dimensions. Fang likes hunting and killing defenseless wildlife. Fang does not like mysterious blue boxes that appear out of thin air. Fang is having a Very Bad Day. A few things to note: Fang is a cat soul in a cat body, and that's not going to change any time soon. No cat girl evolution or possessed puppet or any of that. The slice of life tag is there for a reason. There is no epic tale here, only a cat doing cat things in a (hopefully) interesting setting. The game elements are pretty light, mostly there for flavor, so don't expect a huge amount of crunch. Nature is cruel, and cats are crueler than most.

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
