《The Beast Gamer》5. Aftermath and Dreams

My Sense-Blast pod opens with a slight whirring noise and I open my eyes, or rather I am aware of the light and it stings. Following the blinding light I attempt to stand up to get out of the pod I feel like my head was hit with several dire wolf paws. Which is to say: NOT GOOD.
I groan and try again to stand up wincing as I feel my back pop after laying on metal for 8 hours. I take one step before I remember what I did inside the game. The atrocities I committed. Cannibalism, killing, murder, I can't believe myself. I had swore to Grace... I ... I swore to Grace huh... hah...
Drifting in thought as I mindlessly walk out of my room and into the dorm kitchen and grab one of the still unpacked cups I brought here. I see several people and most of them were holding their heads as if someone slammed their heads with bats and I see other drinking and laughing. I shake my head only to feel the coming of hell on earth break loose inside my head. "Emfph..." I quietly moan as the pain subsides. Someone heard me and looks at me and asks amused,
"Did you play [Fate]?" A person with red hair, freckles, and blue eyes.
"Heh, was I that easy to spot?"
"Nope its just not hard to spot in general, so how long did you play?"
"I played from 12 to a few minutes ago."
The room seemed to freeze after I finished speaking.
"Y-y-you played for 8 hours?!" the one I was talking to just about screamed.
"Yes?" I reply hesitantly. Apparently this was strange because all of them had to install the game and then they left because they got a mental strain message that apparently shows when you are on the higher side of mental stress and they only got to play for 3 hours before they got the message which recommended they log off within the next in game hour and the more they ignore the hourly messages less monthly extensions they had left which everyone is given 10 and if you didn't have any left then you will be forced to log off.
"So that explains..." I mutter to myself before catching myself mid sentence of speaking of what I had done.
"Explains what?" the guy I am talking to asked.
"Thinking to myself, sorry. So What are Y'all's names?" I ask diverting the subject.
"I am Jonah, and my in game name is AppleGod." The one I was primarily speaking too says.
"I'm Sal, and I am named TheSalster in game." This person was black and has blonde dyed hair and dark brown eyes and a tattoo on his bicep of what looks like a dragon.
"I am Cervantes, most people call me Cev and my in [Fate] ID is KingKiller."
Several other people who I had assumed were [Fate] players didn't introduce themselves so I went on to introduce myself.
"Hello Jonah, Sal, and Cervantes, I am Brady and my name in [Fate] is... PulliamDei and as much as I would like to talk about [Fate] With you I have studying to do." I then wave and get some water pull out one of my pills and swallow it and walk back to my room.

I shut the door and I restrain myself from slamming the door. Damn it. Why did I lie to them? Why was that so painful to talk about. I shake my head. I now understand why I went crazy. It wasn't because my medicine wasn't working sufficiently, it was that I was mentally strained which caused my brain to go into overdrive and caused my condition to work itself up to stage 3 and my medicine is supposed to keep it out of stage 3 but it can't do anything once I am there.
I shake my head and lay on my bed and open up the [Fate] website to see things on its discussions page and general announcements. The first thing I saw on the page was a popup asking for my opinion on the 100X time dilation.
What is your opinion on the time dilation of [Fate]?
Love it
Like it
Unsure
Dislike it
Hate it
I clicked dislike and was then prompted to say why although it was optional I decided to fill it out.
I dislike the time dilation because, the game gave no warning of the mental strain people would go under and myself, I have a mental condition and I went nuts in the game. This might not have been the soul reason my condition activated in the game and once I left the pod but I certainly don't think that it helped."
There was also a space below that asked for character name. I decide that I needn't lie so I put Rolfgar's name in the slot. Or rather my name. That is a weird mind lapse but whatever.
I then continue onto the page and I saw so many threads complaining about their headaches, so I filtered them out and I looked at a Developer started page and when I went to it my eyes just about bulged out of my head. The developers had put a Q/A with the AI Andasom. (Remember king of the gods of light? The one who order my characters debuffs)And he was talking about his most recent encounter with a Sinner (AKA me) and he was talking about how evil I had made my character and how I had sacrificed 20 Animals to gain a great and evil power and a bunch of other bullshit gibberish so I logged on my form account and make a sub thread called: "Remember me? Rolfgar Drogen/Paulgar the Dog the leader of the Chaotic Heroes!"
I started the post introducing myself from [Magic Online]. I was a leader of the 1st most powerful and influential guild before we fell apart. I then start telling people about what had happened with the "Sacrifices" (Eating animals raw) and about Faratus and her non-Chaotic alignment. I then described what had happened with the "Blessings" I then continued by saying I was now going to kick the shit out of any of Andasom's follower and any of the people who get in my way of killing him. Of course I left out where I started or the weird event I ended up much less my abilities.
I looked at my post before I post and I decided to then post it.

Ahhh the relief of getting that off my chest and I then closed my laptop and I pulled out one of my text books and started studying about ethics of business before I felt a heaviness behind my eyes and I turned off the light and put my textbook in my bag before I laid down in my bed.
I sit up in a doctor's office during an appointment. I then stood up and I could hear some talking but I was on a drug so that they could do several scans of my body so it sounded like they were under water speaking. All I could do was watch my mom's face twist up in horror and my dad tried his hardest to keep a smile but he looked like he was on the verge of breaking down. I then saw tears flowing out my mom's eyes.
I turn around and we are home and I am standing up and looking at my parents and I remember the silent ride home and I finally had enough courage to ask my dad, "What's wrong with me daddy?"
The Dream then twists and changes and my dad changes into a reflection of me and I become me now.
"Welcome back Brady."
"Hello Subconscious"
I don't know how I know his name and something about him seems off. He is a reflection that moves on his own and I am getting chills just looking at him. I reach my hand to him and he does it back. once we touch he then grabs my hand while my palm is still open. I am not fearful as this feels like hugging an old friend that you haven't seen in years.
"How do I know you Subconscious?" I ask.
"Hah." he laughs and then hisses, "You know me because I am you. And from now on I will be know as Rolfgar any objections? Of course not we are one and the same after all." He then starts laughing again and I can't help but laugh as well. I am not sure what is so funny.
"Well I better leave," I tell him.
"Good bye for now Brady. See you tomorrow..."
RING RING RING RING RING RING RING RING
I bolt awake as I hear my alarm clock ring. It is 6 o'clock now. I can't remember my dream from last night but when can I ever. I shake my head at how I still check my memories for my dreams and turn off my alarm.
I stand up and I grab my phone put on a hoodie, take a piss, wash my face, plug in my headphones. I then continue my morning routine and I grab a quick drink and I exit the building and I start jogging. I already know where I am jogging because I mapped it out when I first got here and even if I get lost it's not like I don't have my phone that has a map app on it.
Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, is all I think for the next hour as I jog around town only stopping for an occasional water break.
CLATTER BANG BANG!
I quickly look to see a drunk person trying to stand up but he keeps knocking over trash cans. I don't understand people like him, poisoning themselves for fun. Disgusting.
I shake my head and sigh as I force myself to go over to him and I put out a hand to help him up but when he lunged at me and tries to bite my hand I kick him in the neck and he keels over and I spit at him and I leave him to writhe in his own dust and filth. I don't even remember why I try to help people like him.
Oh wait... Yes I do... It's cause I am a naive idiot who wants to make a good impression on the world so that they don't mark me as a target like they have so many times before.
Breathe in, Breathe out, Breathe in, Breathe out. I jog all the way back to my dorm and it is about 8 now and I go take a shower so I can get to my first class today at 9.
The day was again to say boring would be the understatement of the century. I do my homework on my laptop and I saw that I never closed my thread and I refreshed it and I saw that it exploded. Several people were begging for forgiveness while others were laughing at how I bad I got it. Then there were people who wanted to join my cause and others who claimed I was lying. Then of course there were the trolls and haters but nothing is perfect right.
My eyes widen in disbelief as I see replies made by the god AIs.
Faratus: Well I doubt people will believe you but hopefully they believe me! He is my champion and he was attacked by Andasom and the light gods! Andasom: This man is demonizing me and he deserves to be punished and I declare him a Heretic
"Of course he would. I wonder what that will do to me," I groan as I look at the other gods replies I decide it is time to start beefing up my character and to log on to [Fate].
I crack a grin as I think of plans and plots and I open up my Sense-Blast pod and I sit inside and I close the door and press the button to start my game time.
Logging in...

Protagonist: The Whims of Gods
Book one now also on Amazon! After quitting her job as a therapist and grabbing some work at a dog shelter, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small surprise when she was chosen by a god. Thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are suddenly a reality, Tess will quickly find that just surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and that spiders keep trying to claw her face off. One thing's for certain, though: The possibilities are endless. Will she end up wrestling a dragon? Becoming an arch-mage? Opening a quaint, bookstore, coffee shop, and wine bar for elves? The choice is hers... As long as she can live long enough to make it. Protagonist is a fairly classic LitRPG novel with character levels, classes, stats, settlements, and other LitRPG elements. Unlike a lot of LitRPG stories, while the protagonist has some perks, she doesn't start off overpowered. You can expect to see her struggle as she advances. This novel also takes the opportunity to explore some less frequently seen builds, shying away from any min-maxing. Chapters are about ~2000-3000 words and are released at 8:00am ET every other day.

Transmigration Retiree
"What's that you say? I can never leave this reality ever? Good!" Ed, was a normal man in a world full of superheroes, so he didn't really have too many complaints when that first truck fell on him. After all he'd read enough comics to know that sometimes things just happen. Besides he'd been getting on in years when it happened, and his life till then, though lonely, had more or less been fully lived. The second time around when that one guy pushed him off a cliff for a chalice of immortal ambrosia, wasn't so cool though, and then there was that third time when he was just getting used to life as a lady, and that crazy goddess showed up out of nowhere and started ranting about purging the demon menace....then some other stuff happened and he briefly got to go back to earth before falling into a coma where he adventured in the world of dreams. Then the aliens came, and the dream ended and he was suddenly stuck being the AI Overmind for the whole damn star systm. The aliens died, and because he was all mechanical and what-not he just kind of had to keep on going. Forced to continue collecting the materials and data from countless worlds that were destoryed in the process. Then there was that whole war with the gods business that followed...mostly because of all that world destroying he did because of some fairly faulty programming. Anyway, thankfully someone pulled a "rocks fall" on that whole curfuffle, because by the time he was in control of himself again, things had long gotten out of hand. Now the powers-that-be tell him that he must spend the rest of his existence in single lonely section of the cosmos. Trapped in a single portion of a single universe. And now he weeps...No worries though, these are tears of joy. Hopefully this final unending existence he's been given will be the quiet life he's been looking for. A Man who's seen everything gets abducted by aliens and is converted into an AI that sits at the helm of a fleet of alien ships and behind the computer systems for most their planets. This Alien AI goes to war with the gods and ends up nearly destroying an entire reality. The Angels condemn the troublemaking AI to life as normal child on a far off world....All truth said, the "AI" couldn't be happier. His life's been far too interesting(read: Scary, Inconvenient and Painful) in his opinion and he could do with a bit of normalcy.

Forged
Legendary swordsmen, whose feats are hailed and names known far and wide. Many wish to be one, but few have the dedication to follow the path of the blade all the way through, with all of the trials and tribulations that entails. But those who reach the end can become something far greater than they once were. Great warriors aren’t born, they’re forged. A coming-of-age story mixed with a Martial journey story. Think Youxia, Musha Shogyou, or Knight Errant. A martial arts and action heavy story with a focus of slow progression, and detailed character development over time. One protagonist, but a significant amount from other character's POVs, and a notable amount of focus on other character's development. Disclaimer:Title/cover is metaphorical, no literal forging as of this time.
