《Tartarus- A Prison Odyssey》B2 Chapter 13- The Hunting of Leviathan- The execution

“So he’s there? Why?” Jaeger asked as he was looking through a pair of binoculars at a half burnt mansion.

“Not sure, though there’s a chance he might know you are coming after him… that mansion is horrible for us to fight him though.” Viktor warned, and Jaeger had to agree, that mansion was a death-trap with Leviathan inside of it.

Leviathan killed from simply getting near him from what some people were saying, though the only thing that gave Jaeger any hope was that all accounts say the same thing, that Leviathan needed skin contact to drain the blood of someone.

It was simple as wearing a full-body suit then, or so it seemed… but if it could work through clothes, then there would be a problem.

Jaeger would be working under the assumption Leviathan could control blood through clothes. Better to overestimate an already dangerous enemy than to underestimate them.

“Yeah… the elephant gun is best used over distances, in an open area. Going inside the mansion, the gun won’t be feasible unless in a corridor… that’s a horrible place to fight someone like Leviathan though.” Jaeger added as he looked at the mansion, getting an idea of the internal layout based on the external appearance.

If a building has three floors outside, it probably won’t only have two inside after all. It was simple logic there.

“Indeed, the elephant gun takes upwards of five seconds to reload. For a normal person, that isn’t enough time to catch you if you decide to retreat, but for a Chained, well…” Viktor let the statement hang; the implications were not lost on the Hunter.

“I have one reliable shot with it, I’d be lucky if I could get another shot off before Leviathan is up close and personal.” Jaeger stated the implied, leaving his friend and second-in-command to nod in agreement.

“That’s right. Knowing the abilities of your enemy, your grappling hook is an important part of your arsenal in this fight, along with your shotgun.” Viktor added signalling to Kevin to go get the stated equipment.

“I won’t be able to fight up close, if I do it’s basically suicide. Having a sword would not help, if anything it would just make things worse.” Indeed, Leviathan got more dangerous the more he bled, as he did not control his own blood until it exited his body…

He might have overcome that limitation, being able to control his blood inside his body, but Jaeger could not think of a way that would benefit him.

The body was already in a delicate balance, halting or accelerating it was dangerous, so Leviathan probably wouldn’t dare try that… it was his body after all.

“So you’re leaving your blades behind. You should still take your escrima sticks though.” Viktor stated as Jaeger looked over to his friend with a lazy stare, flicking his wrists, allowing the sticks to appear in his hands.

“That still looks awesome.” Viktor admitted, and Jaeger agreed, it’s why the inner lining of his coat sleeves had a mechanism to hold the sticks, and by flicking his wrists in a very specific way, they shot into his hands.

The first few tries were admittedly funny, with the sticks shooting past his hands, leaving Viktor laughing at his friend’s gobsmacked expression.

“Okay, so other than those, you’ll be taking all your guns. That’s the elephant gun, your trench gun, and… how many pistols do you have anyway?” Viktor tried to remember, but pistols were admittedly difficult for Viktor.

Jaeger never carried less than two, but the weapons occasionally broke when he fought Chained and possibly had to use the weapon to block an attack, or drop them in the fight, as he often did.

And while dropping them, there was an occasion or two where a physically large Chained stepped on them, breaking them… and Jaeger was good at hiding those weapons.

“I have six on me today.” Note that Jaeger had to clarify ‘today’. As mentioned, the amount fluctuated depending on availability and need.

“Well, that’s eight shots total, we both know that the odds of you reloading your pistols for another use are low, they are better suited for surprising and shocking Chained than killing them.” Viktor noted, and Jaeger agreed with his assessment.

“Yep… I’d take the musket with, but it’s redundant now that the elephant gun is complete.” His words weren’t wrong; the musket was his original long-range weapon… but…

His new one was so much better that bringing the musket would be pointless.

“I get your point… Jaeger, be careful. Like Baal, Leviathan isn’t a weakling.” Jaeger frowned at the mention of Baal, not wanting to think about the first ‘Hunter-Killer’.

Baal had vanished into the wind seemingly, after killing Jaeger’s grandfather, and he was rarely if ever seen after that. The man was strange and elusive, many accounts stated him as a pacifist of some kind, yet he killed Jaeger’s grandfather?

Jaeger didn’t know what to think about the Chained, and so tried to ignore Baal and his existence, which had become something of a myth in Tartarus.

“I, more than anyone, know that Leviathan is dangerous Viktor. I won’t underestimate him.” Jaeger said, strapping his four pistols onto his chest, tucking one in his pants leg and another at a holster on his waist.

Then for his trench gun, he hid that on his back, the tail of his coat hiding the existence of the dangerous weapon, while he held the elephant gun slung over his shoulder.

With his load out, Jaeger nodded to Viktor and Kevin, walking to the building that was probably once beautiful… once, because it was now marred with scorch marks from what may or may not be Molotov cocktails landing on its walls.

This was Area two, burning buildings, graffiti, breaking anything breakable, the standards of Area two, if you want to keep something, stop it from being destroyed.

Most failed in the endeavour of protecting their property.

“Alright, Kevin, let’s get away from here.” Viktor stated, following his own words… basically, always stay as far away from Jaeger’s fights as possible.

Getting close might lead to dying.

Jaeger strolled around the Area, not bothering to hide himself. Any normal person in Tartarus would recognize a Hunter easily, and therefore stay out of the way.

The only ones who messed with a Hunter were Chained, and it was usually the other way around on who started the fight.

Rare was it that Jaeger was attacked by a Chained he didn’t attack first… most gave him a wide berth due to being capable of killing them.

So it was that five minutes later, Jaeger was in front of the half burnt mansion, noting that parts of its roof looked ready to cave in.

Obviously he didn’t go in through the front door. That was suicidal if Leviathan was set up to attack anyone who entered there.

So he walked around the perimeter of the yard walls, finally finding a spot he could easily climb without using his grappling hook, Jaeger climbed over.

He was now behind the entrance of the mansion, slightly to the east of the building, and he made sure to move quietly, a feat that surprised many Chained he fought.

It was impossible to erase all traces of sound, smell, and other cues hinting at his presence, but his ability to muffle his movements was very high level.

Think about it, Typhon, as long as he wasn’t focusing, couldn’t detect Jaeger until Jaeger was ten, twenty metres away… this was the same guy who could make out the specific heartbeat of Aaron inside a building more than fifty metres away.

Admittedly the latter was while Typhon was focused, but Jaeger was good at moving silently. He used this to his advantage as he moved across the yard, which had freshly grown grass.

Everything in this Area was burnt once or twice, and it’s a common thought that burning grass is a good way for it to grow better in the future, for many different reasons…

Jaeger didn’t buy into it, but sometimes he’d wonder, like in the situation he was currently in; the grass was soft beneath his boots instead of charred black.

Moving, he ended up beneath a window as he easily opened it. The glass was long shattered and it was pretty much just a frame anyway, but he’d rather not risk cutting himself anywhere, even if he wore leather gloves.

He stepped inside as he looked around, already holding a pistol in one hand and an escrima stick in the other.

It wasn’t the first time he fought a Chained within a building, though he disliked the practice. The last time he fought one in a building was Arachne in Area seven a few years ago.

So granted, it was quite a while, but it was part of his training to know how to fight these dangerous enemies in closed spaces anyway.

The house was… not as empty as Jaeger thought. There were signs of more than one person living in the building recently, judging by imprints on the plush carpets, some imprints weren’t as deep as others, showing the different weights of the people walking on it.

It was slight, and most would blame the carpet, but Jaeger always assumed worse against Chained.

He chose a direction, and moved down, taking care to check behind him every moment. Every time he encountered a door, he checked the keyhole first before opening the door cautiously.

In more than one room, Jaeger found a dead body, and typical of Leviathan, they were drained of blood… something Jaeger was getting tired of seeing.

It was only as he was moving further into the building that Jaeger heard noises as he widened his eyes, crouching immediately, trying to identify the sounds.

It sounded like… right. Leviathan had human shape now? And he was in Tartarus almost from the beginning?

When was the last time he had sex? Jaeger frowned at the idea as he moved closer to the noise, not liking what was about to happen…

Really, killing someone while they’re busy just wasn’t right, even for Jaeger… but rather this than deal with actually fighting Leviathan.

It was soon found that the noise was louder than Jaeger knew as it was coming from the second floor, and he walked up the stairs opposite the entrance, hearing the noise coming from a room nearby…

Looking inside, it was quite dark due to the drawn curtains, but Jaeger saw a man still clothed, choking a naked woman beneath him as the bed rocked, and Jaeger scowled, not caring for the danger as he swapped his current weapons for his elephant gun, kicking the door in.

And with the light, Jaeger realized that he wasn’t looking at Leviathan, for the man had no collar signifying a Chained.

Those collars were a godsend to Jaeger, who immediately turned and jumped onto the railing, launching himself off towards the stairs, firing his grappling hook to get himself on the opposite side of the room he was just by.

Jaeger barely survived, given that a large amount of blood flew where he just was, and stayed there for a moment as a man walked out of the room.

This man, with his black collar signifying him as a Chained, was definitely Leviathan, as Jaeger placed the face and look to the name.

Leviathan smirked, an appropriate expression on his roguish face as he stood, hands in his pockets as the large amount of blood hovered about him.

Leviathan had black hair, straight and long tied into a ponytail, but some strands framed his face and some weren’t tied correctly, giving him a faux cultured look, leaning more to bar-hopper bad boy.

His attire added to the look, wearing a denim jacket and black shirt with a white skull insignia, black jeans and brown boots similar to the ones Jaeger wore.

For the record, if Aaron was here he’d call copyright infringement on the shirt Leviathan wore, considering a man named Francis Castiglione used that insignia often.

Most people knew the guy by Frank Castle by the way.

“Well, I wondered when you’d show up little Hunter… though I got to wonder…” Leviathan’s thuggish nearly ‘southern’ accent came through even more now that he had human vocal cords…

Worse, it was somehow even more menacing than before.

“Aren’t you a bit stupid to attack me on my turf? Isn’t that one of your ‘hunter rules’ or something? Cause this is the second time you done it… it’s making me think you want to die.” Leviathan’s smirk became slightly predatory as Jaeger glared at the man.

“Leviathan… you’re a dangerous enough target for me to have to bend the rules a bit… so just sit still, and how about you die.” Jaeger’s own voice didn’t rise, instead getting calmer as he went, twisting his elephant gun to now hang across his frame comfortably.

“I don’t think so little Hunter. Guess we’ve come to an impasse. I want you dead, and I want to live. You want me dead, and you want to live.” Leviathan removed his hands from his pockets.

“Negotiations are over then.” He stated, flexing his hand slightly, some of the blood hovering around his frame suddenly twisting as it shot towards Jaeger, almost as if a spear.

Jaeger didn’t just let it hit him as he dodged to the side, still looking to Leviathan…

Who was now smirking, making Jaeger widen his eyes before he got hit in the side with the blood, knocking him into a wall, barely giving him a moment to duck and roll away before the blood slammed where his head was a moment ago.

“Sorry ‘bout that. I’m still getting the kinks out of my new amount of control…” Leviathan apologized mockingly as the blood flowed, now thinning itself as it tried to slice into Jaeger, who grabbed the railing and jumped over to land on the first floor rather than be stuck in a small space with the blood.

His choice was right, judging by the fact that the railing did nothing to stop the blood from cleaving straight through it, making Jaeger stare as he landed.

“See, I’m working things out, but I can either control a whole lot of blood and use it like I used to, or I can control just a little bit… and then a whole lot of cool stuff becomes possible.” Leviathan’s cocky grin just made Jaeger angrier.

And Jaeger could do very little to make it disappear. Even the last time they fought, until Typhon surprised him, Leviathan was cocky from beginning to end, sure in his victory.

Pride was the greatest failing of Leviathan, Jaeger felt. Pride was Leviathan’s one and only weakness… that he fought lazily and almost without care, too assured in his victory to fight seriously.

It was why Typhon’s mauling of his internals and leg muscles was such a surprise to him in their last fight, Leviathan hadn’t lost a fight since entering Tartarus, and his arrogance showed.

So Jaeger had to capitalize on it.

“Oh? So you’ve had a year to work on this, and you still can’t do it right? You must be pretty bad at it then.” Jaeger stated, making Leviathan’s smirk falter slightly before it returned.

“Trying to make me mad huh? Won’t work I’m afraid. I’m a merc you know?” Leviathan said, flexing his hands when Jaeger snapped off a shot with his pistol, the blood still floating around him coming up in front of him.

Then to Jaeger’s surprise, instead of going through the blood with a slower pace, the bullet was stopped dead in its tracks as Leviathan explained to his ‘weaker’ opponent.

“While the surface looks calm, the inside isn’t.” Leviathan said, allowing the round bullet to drop to the floor as he stepped forward and then hopped onto the railing, the blood that attacked Jaeger coming back to join the rest.

“Jaeger, do you know that Tartarus, this prison, it’s got a lot of neat stuff surprisingly. And I may not look it, but I quite like a good book occasionally.” Leviathan said, dropping into a crouch, allowing Jaeger to remove another pistol, firing a shot, as once more his bullet was stopped in its tracks.

“One book I found was about something called fluid dynamics and fluid mechanics. I’m not big on science though, but I read it. Inside that book, it talked about how liquids can’t be compressed, though you can try. It also talked about pressure and a whole lot of other stuff… stuff that applies to blood.” Leviathan stated, making Jaeger narrow his eyes at the man.

“Basically, I studied, and now I can do more stuff. Man, I love my super-power. Ahem, as to how I’m blocking bullets, that’s because of pressure.” Leviathan said, gesturing to the shield in front of him, barely allowing Jaeger to see his form.

“Inside of that, I’m spinning the blood really fucking fast. I can also create pressure without tools, so the inside is really pressurized. If you stuck your hand in there, it would be ripped apart, including the bone.” Jaeger was immediately worried as Leviathan jumped forward, keeping the shield in front of him.

“I think I’ll just run you over then!” Leviathan grinned as he landed, running forward as Jaeger had almost no time to think with how fast Leviathan ran.

Leviathan gawked as Jaeger seemed to shoot off to the side, making Leviathan see that Jaeger had shot his grappling hook into the wall itself, sliding across the tiled floor as he shot in Leviathan’s direction, hitting the merc in the arm.

“Damn! That hurts goddammit!” Leviathan shouted as Jaeger wondered… why didn’t Leviathan swear more often in their previous fight?

Probably because he wasn’t hurt, and the one time he was he ended up defeated immediately afterwards?

“Man, last time I got shot was in Afghanistan you ass! Forgot how much that hurt!” That… might be another weakness of Leviathan?

He had a low pain threshold from not having been hurt in so long.

Jaeger could win… he just had to keep hurting his opponent, which was really the entire point.

“It hurts a lot… but that’s fine. Thanks for giving me more ammo.” Leviathan grinned, the spherical bullet of the flint-lock pistol falling out of the wound on his arm, blood flowing out slightly.

“And better yet, it’s my blood…” Leviathan smirked, joining the small amount of blood with the rest, his wound stopped bleeding immediately after, willing a thin film of blood over the wound to keep everything going as he spoke.

“You know, I found out another thing. I can control blood because it’s part of me, weird as it sounds. Know what pluripotent cells are?” Leviathan asked, giving Jaeger ample time to shift slightly, making sure to keep his grappling hook ready.

“Well I don’t care if you know or not, I just like sounding smart.” Leviathan shrugged, before pointing at the blood.

“See, those pluripotent cells, they can do awesome shit man, turn into bone, blood, muscle, skin, pretty much anything required to be called living.” Jaeger shot off, trying to ignore Leviathan’s speech, as Leviathan didn’t even look at Jaeger taking his shot.

The blood moved on its own.

“Now I apparently have a large amount of them, but for some reason I can’t do bone or skin, it’s annoying. Muscle’s also kind of a no.” Leviathan sighed as he held his arms in a ‘what can you do?’ gesture.

“So it sucks kind of that I can’t do amazing things with it, but I do have two things I can do with mine. One is turning my dead skin cells into blood, it’s why grabbing someone can let me kill them. The cells on my fingers turn into blood and it needles into my enemies and they die because I control their insides.” Jaeger was still worried about how the blood moved by itself.

“The second thing I can do, and this is only with my own blood mind you… but I can turn it into a kind of receptor.” Leviathan poked his own head mockingly.

“My brain hacks into it basically, and then I can move the blood like it’s a part of me. Granted, it probably shouldn’t be capable of floating, but hey, I don’t hold all the answers… but the more blood I spill, basically…” Leviathan made a pulling motion, drawing the blood towards him.

It soon coalesced onto his right arm, creating a large spike as he ran forward.

“The more I bleed the more control I get.” Leviathan explained as he stabbed forward, and this time Jaeger jumped to the side, slipping his hand behind him as he removed his trench gun, aiming a shot.

Leviathan twisted, the blood on his arm moved, expanding to become a massive shield, stopping the bullets in their tracks as he attempted to ‘shield bash’ Jaeger into nothingness.

Tossing the trench gun away, Jaeger’s grappling hook was removed from its waist holster to shoot against the railing of the second floor, pulling him upwards and away from the attack.

Jaeger let go halfway up as he dropped while spinning, removing the elephant gun. Leviathan knew what trick he was doing, and raised his shield to block the shot this time.

Jaeger smirked at this, making Leviathan confused… that’s when Leviathan heard the sizzling near his foot, only being able to spare a glance before the grenade went off.

When Jaeger shot off with his grappling hook, he left a grenade behind on the floor, though he used the term grenade loosely… considering it was a strange construction that didn’t resemble the standard ‘pineapple’ look.

It was a, surprisingly home-made, thermite grenade, more commonly known as an M14 grenade.

Thermite, commonly used in welding, instead of exploding like a regular grenade does, it melted. Well, that was if the thermite reaction didn’t encounter certain elements, such as water, which was what Jaeger used.

The cylinder contained thermite magnesium, and had a small ‘button’ on one end. By pressing in this button, it caused the ignition of the thermite.

But that wasn’t the end obviously, as Jaeger had created a three layered grenade.

The first layer, inside the button, was the striker. This ignited the second layer, the thermite that burnt at such high temperatures that it melted the container.

This allowed the third layer to mix with the second, and the third layer contained water… water which caused a dangerous chemical reaction when included to burning thermite.

Jaeger would have been sure that Leviathan was dead if it weren’t for the fact that he couldn’t use a lot of the high temperature burning metal for these grenades, because if he used too much then it would be too easily volatile.

That, and Leviathan was dangerous, as shown when Jaeger rolled away from his previous spot, a spike of red having shot where his head was moments ago as he looked to Leviathan.

Leviathan now no longer had a left arm, the whole thing was probably that melted mass on the floor, melted from the heat that was around two thousand two hundred degrees Celsius.

Leviathan also no longer smiled, obviously… instead, he had his face morphed into a combination of extreme anger and pain, growling as he held the stump, which stopped halfway up his bicep.

“Motherfucker… you’re going to die, right now.” Jaeger had to take this chance, Leviathan was angry and growling out his anger, and he wouldn’t play like he had just a few moments ago now that Jaeger had proved he could definitively damage the blood-user.

So Jaeger immediately aimed his elephant gun which he still held in his hand at Leviathan and fired, knowing the man was too injured to make that shield of his.

It took concentration to control blood, Jaeger knew this from their last fight, and with so much pain, Leviathan only just managed to launch a stab with the blood.

That shield was much too complicated to be used, and Leviathan glared, even as the bullet rushed for his face…

And then there was a light, blinding gold, causing the two to close their eyes against their will… and when they finally managed to open their eyes again, Jaeger found himself staring in shock.

“I think that’s enough you two.” A voice sounded out, causing Jaeger and a notably alive Leviathan to turn to the entrance of the building.

It was also this turning that allowed them to realize both the source of the light, and what it had done.

The source of the light was a woman, standing there at the entrance, her bright white hair brought to mind Typhon for the two fighters, but she clearly wasn’t related judging by other features.

They knew the light was from her partly because of her electric blue eyes, a sure sign of being a Cybernetic Chained… but she had no collar, easily seen since she wore white full-body armour with no neck coverings…

That armour was the other reason they believed she was the one who caused the strange light.

It reminded Jaeger of another ‘Chained’ with no collar… one who he recently began to dislike, whose Chained name happened to be Odysseus.

Also, looking to her allowed them to fully recognize the light… it was weird to Jaeger, and Leviathan definitely didn’t understand it, given that he was tossed into Tartarus before 2025.

What they could see though, was that the light seemed to have physical form, something that made no sense to the two…

Solid light was the term and back when Tartarus was being created, it was still considered merely hypothetical, though some places such as MIT claimed to have created it.

Clearly, it was possible to exist. Given that it was somehow bisecting the entire mansion, it had to be real.

Indeed, Jaeger and Leviathan were kept from each other thanks to this massive blade cutting through the entire building, though upon closer inspection it was more like five very close blades, given that his bullet had been cut into pieces.

“I can’t remember okay, I was watching Chase, and then there was this light… next thing I know, a part of the house is almost… cut away! I couldn’t see clearly because of it, but I know the person was a woman…the Chained that attacked us.”

Jaeger recalled Viktor’s explanation of Chase’s kidnapper and glared at the woman, who stared at the two of them with a tilt of the head, her face showing no change in expression beyond a raise of an eyebrow.

“This is interesting… I came here because I heard one of my soldiers was hiding out here, and I find him about to be killed by a human?” Jaeger’s eyes widened as he glared at Leviathan, only for the subject of his glare to ignore him and glare at the woman.

“Hey, I am not your soldier, lady!” Leviathan growled out as she looked to him, and finally her expression changed… a slight narrowing of the eyes, a gentle smile coming over her beautiful features…

And yet that smile terrified Jaeger completely.

“I think you won’t find a choice in the matter, prisoner 592482486, or otherwise known as subject Leviathan.” Leviathan widened his eyes at her, making Jaeger worried as she raised a gloved hand, snapping her fingers as she spoke.

“I am your Lord, I am your sovereign. You will obey my command and fight at my side, you will be my weapon and shield. Do you understand?” She asked, and Jaeger could almost see it in slow motion… he could almost see the moment Leviathan’s resistance suddenly disappeared, his expression slacking slightly.

“Got it boss.” Leviathan said with an easy smile, and Jaeger could almost be tricked into believing Leviathan always worked for the woman… if it weren’t for how hollow his expression was as she spoke a moment ago.

“Good… though you’re speech pattern irks me… it will have to do.” She said, dismissing Leviathan, leaving him to gather what blood he could, willing it to lace around his stump of an arm, creating a false arm of blood as he stood.

“As for you… you are interesting… a normal human, combating an Ascended? Even better, you are a prisoner… you have talent, but not enough to be a Chained… I like it.” She finally seemed to decide on something as she crossed her arms underneath her noticeable, but not hindering, breasts.

“You will work for me from now on. I will provide you with weapons, armour, and you will be a member of my guard.” Jaeger glared at her, not even caring for the pain catching up to him from his fight with Leviathan…

He had been slammed into a wall and jumped down a floor with little to no preparation, his legs and back pained after the adrenaline began to leave his body.

“And why should I do that? You took my son from me.” Jaeger countered, and she blinked at his words in surprise.

“Ah… you’re referring to 7 August 2068, the day I went to personally retrieve Code Beowulf.” The woman nodded to herself, before looking to Jaeger once more.

“Alright, seeing as you are against working for me, let me explain it so someone as uneducated as you can understand.” Her previous slightly carefree tone vanished, now filled with condescension dripping from her voice.

“I can kill you with a thought. I can also kill those people watching from a distance with a thought. I have your son, who is now known as Beowulf in my care. I control Ascended of certain frequencies, including Leviathan over there that can also kill you if given the right motivation.” The woman now smiled a smirk that promised pain to those who went against her.

“That’s all the things that say you shouldn’t decline my offer. Now, let me talk about the benefits to my offer.” She stated, erasing the physical light barrier with a wave of her hand as she walked, no, stalked closer, her armour quiet but noticeable.

“For one, you live. Those people watching this building also live. You get better weapons. You get armour. Some Ascended like Leviathan would be on your side instead of against you. And most importantly, you get to be near my brilliance.” The woman stated with a certainty that disturbed Jaeger as she smiled.

“Oh, and you can see your son.” She added as an afterthought, though Jaeger did not see it that way, given that his eyes widened as he stared at the woman who was now standing in front of him, who was still kneeling from when he fired his shot.

“So, knowing what you do, I’m sure you’ll make the right decision… then again, most humans are idiots, so I might just kill you here.” The woman said with a sigh, bemoaning the stupidity of her race as if it was a personal affront to her as Jaeger looked to his gun, then back to her.

“Fine, I will work for you… but I do want to see my son. And his name is Chase, not Beowulf.” Jaeger stated, and the woman cocked her hip, placing a hand on it as she stared at him.

“If I said the sky was pink it would be. Your son is Beowulf. Now tell me what your name is.” the woman demanded, not asked.

“Jaeger, no last name.” Jaeger said while remaining kneeled as he removed his hand from his elephant gun and extended it.

“Interesting name, the Germanic term for hunter… very well Jaeger, come, you work for me now.” The woman turned and walked away, ignoring the outstretched hand.

“And by the way Jaeger… my name is Gilgamesh. Call it a man’s name and I’ll castrate you.” The woman called as she left…

Jaeger first checked on the man and woman in the second floor. Then he left… they were long dead, Leviathan had been using corpses as puppets… it made Jaeger sick to work with him.
