《Fear: Ever-Changing and Evolving》Chapter 10 Part 1 - Admissions

FINALLY!!! It's here! SCHOOL!! Hehehe...I feel like an idiot right now...
You see, I have NEVER been to school before; I never had the time when I was training to become a hero to slay the Demon King. Make no mistake, I am NOT stupid, I just lack and/or defy common sense. That's why I'm so excited to go to school!
...and if people bully Aurum for being a Beastkin or being too young or being of commoner birth...heheheheheheheh...I'm "just a familiar" so I don't know any better, right? Heheheheheh...
Anyway, here's a brief summary of what happened during the month I was here, waiting to go to school: After I was summoned, I became Aurum's familiar, but only in name because of the Contract of Equality. I then went hunting to become more powerful and I ate and slept. Nothing else.
JUST KIDDING!!
I DID do all those things, but I also found out that I had the ability to shrink down to a 1 foot long version of myself! That's why I am currently coiled around Aurum's arm in the carriage that is bringing us to the academy.
(Aurum) Hey, Fear, are you nervous?
(Fear) Not really. Are you?
(Aurum) Yeah, I'm VERY nervous! What if I get bullied?
(Fear) The one's who bully you will die.
(Aurum) No! If you do that, I will get expelled and you will be killed by monster slayers!
(Fear) Hmph, like any of THOSE weaklings can kill the great ME!
While we were chatting away, the carriage was approaching the academy.
(Driver) We're here!
(Aurum) Oh! WOW!!!
Stepping out of the carriage, we saw a massive castle, easily the size of an entire city!
(Fear) It's too big...
(Aurum) Let's go!
So Aurum cheerfully ran towards the castle. She searched for the admissions office, and she soon found it thanks to the giant line of students waiting to be allowed in. We then went to wait in the massive line.

While we were waiting, there was a commotion coming from the end of the line, and it was slowly approaching us. I say "it' because there is NO WAY that fat thing is a human! It was surrounded by guards who were pushing everyone out of the way and shouting.
(Guards) OUT OF THE WAY! THE GREAT VICTOR FLARE FUSACHA THE THIRD IS COMING THROUGH!
We stepped out of the way in order to not create enemies out of a powerful noble family, but "it" stopped in front of Aurum, and stared at her. I could see the lecherous glint in his eyes, as he looked Aurum from head to toe. He then said something I kinda saw coming but hoped against hope I was wrong.
(Victor) You there! Become my concubine!
...sh*t! He's actually into little girls?!
Aurum whimpers and her tails tuck between her legs and her ears droop slightly. She know that she can't refuse unless she wants to make an enemy out of one of the most powerful human noble families, the Fusacha's.
(Aurum) ...
(Fear) UNFORGIVABLE!!!
(Victor) That snake can talk?! Guards! Get it for me!
Okay, I'll admit it: I snapped.
I slithered off Aurum's arm to get down to the ground, and then I grew to full size.
(Victor) W-W-WHAT IS THAT?!?!
(Guard 1) IT'S A KING BASILISK!!
(Guard 2) RUN!!!
(Victor) HEY! DON'T LEAVE ME!! I'LL TRIPLE YOUR PAY IF YOU CAPTURE THAT MONSTER!!
I suddenly feel a terrifying aura behind me, like the god of death itself had descended!
Oh, looks like Aurum snapped, too. That explains it.

Anyway, thanks for reading as always!

The Final Quest
Everybody loves the Elder Scrolls games, no matter what game a person plays, it always is a unique and fun time. This is just one verse in the song of Tamriel. Call it Fanfiction, call it a light novel, heck just call it a one shot story. I don't care.(well actually I do, but thats next to the point) However, please remeber this as you read. This story is created through my own understanding of the story of the Elder Scrolls world.(with some help from online videos) If I misinterpret something, say so. I may fix it... eventually. Please, enjoy The Final Quest
8 141Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
8 128Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."

Gary is dead, but now he's alive again. Gary hopes that this new life will treat him nicely. Oh Gary, how naive. This is my first novel. I appreaciate any feedback. Photo by pine watt on Unsplash
