《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 182 – Momo’s Declaration!

Dome, the current referee in charge, simply glanced at Harvey for a tad, before keeping his gaze towards the announcer booth. His silent nod meant the match could still continue.
Harvey was happy at the recognition form the Ref.
Harvey: “AHAHAHAHA! Finally some fucking fair… TREATMENT!”
Being so close to Harvey, Viperacer decided to circle around behind the guy the very moment he took his next massive swing. Harvey’s fist clenched and his arm raised back like a slingshot.
That was Viperacer’s queue. He sped around and prepared to land one big blow of his own – this would be a punch carrying the momentum of his speed and the natural inborn super strength he possessed! He backed up far away, and raced!
Except, his punch never landed. The very moment he reached Harvey’s position once again – the guy – instead of slamming his fist forward, actually jumped up and punched the ground instead! Similar to Ophelia, the entire 5 mile long arena began to crack!
Harvey: “Hahaha! With the stage in utter shambles, you can’t dance around like before anymore~ COME HERE!”
His body turned. Yes, he knew this guy would attack form behind – he was a cautious fellow – anybody facing Harvey would be cautious and attack form a blind spot. Because NOBODY could take him head on! He was Harvey! While the platform split into smaller chunks, Viperacer had a bad premonition.
Unfortunately for him, his momentum was cut off after the floor split apart like so, and for just a mere moment – he became helpless prey in Harvey’s grasp.
Finally, Harvey’s grappling techniques ensnared Viperacer. And the pummeling ensued without stop.
Balled fists threw out punch after punch.
Punch after punch.
Punch after punch.
So many punches were thrown out, that the once mocking and cheering crowd gradually grew silent.
He… Harvey, this was his message for the onlooking people.
Harvey: “(Hmph! What speed? What strength? What special powers and what temper? If you can do something about it, by all means, come do so! ‘Justice’ is determined by the winners! Might makes right!!! You people think that woman’s punch was impressive? fine! I can be just as impressive! That brat says she destroyed the arena…? Okay! I can fucking do that too! It’s only a platform! Sure, the magic protecting the walls is still in tact… but they changed the magic enchantments! There’s nothing to be done! Had they been the same enchantments without strengthening – then they definitely would have also fallen! I’m sure I could have!)”

The audience viewing his overbearing performance remained silent for a full 5 minutes. It wasn’t until their whispers gradually resounded and Harvey saw Dome beginning to move in, that he stopped his relentless punching assault.
…
30 matches. 30 matches are now over, and within the final match, Harvey pulled out a stunning and grand victory by winning after smashing the entire arena platform!
...Of course, now that the arena has been improved, the platform became slightly less durable, in exchange for being transformed into an easily replaceable flooring material with multiple prepared replacements. More replacements have been prepared when compared to before, at the very least.
?: “W...Wow! How… how incredible!
...Right…!?
Am, haha… Am I right guys and gals? Hahaha! Ha…
...Harvey was exemplary just now. This just goes to show the level of superiority our school’s Kings have over any and everybody in their own weight class! It does not matter if they have the same type of power, the same Grade, the same level of experience or even the same training style! No matter the odds and no matter the opponent – our Kings will come out on top! There’s no disputing this fact!!”
Surviving this gauntlet of pure, destructive power, Harvey won and attained victory in such a magnificent fashion! I … can’t describe it as anything short of incredible!”
With a smug look and a cocky swagger in his step, he exits the arena – not even bothering to wait for the referee’s judgment. Dome only glares at him, and then sighs. he didn’t originally stop the boy because he very clearly noticed Harvey slightly angling his body towards the ground and constantly shifting his gaze below. With that couple of actions, he became aware of Harvey’s following moves nigh – instantly.
Then, he proceeded to allow the pummeling to go unstopped for five full minutes because Viceraptor wasn’t yet out of it. Half of those punches were actually blocked. At first, the guy was stalling and waiting for his chance – an opportunity to strike while Harvey was confident and unsuspecting the blow the most.
But Harvey didn’t give him the opportunity to counter-attack. His fierce eyes, ferocious countenance and his unwavering animosity… completely overwhelmed and shattered Viperacer’s ambitions. On top of which… he received a notification from his relative – a certain ‘King’ that motioned for him to let Harvey continue pounding away. So he did exactly that.

Although he still held a small chance at victory… he threw it away in an instant.
Why would anybody do such a thing? Perhaps it would be considered stupid by some, but not to him. The freshman knew exactly what it meant to win this King’s favor. He’d be willing to throw a million matches if he can gain that person’s help in the future. This was definitely worth giving up an uncertain and small opportunity of glory, and a chance to embarrass Harvey.
In fact, this match may have done Harvey a huge favor in terms of reputation, but had he stopped short, he could have re-solidified his status as King entirely free from worry. While his victory still did win many of the crowd over, the excessive violence he showed everyone became even more prominent. This was a ‘chip’ in his Kingly reputation. The very first of which, will come to plague him in the near future.
But that’s for then.
Right now, the floor was swiftly replaced and the next challengers prepared. They were excited. Another round of jeering emerged and the cackling of raucous laughter resounded. Fingers pointed at an indiscernible figure emerging from the arena entrance Harvey exited from, just 10 minutes prior. A single clenched fist assisted the male at ignoring the verbal attempts at stirring his emotions up. Mockery doesn’t mean anything in the face of strength. All he needs to do is prove himself by winning! That’s all! His first opponent is a carbon copy of Harvey, and the guy was even suggested to fight against him in this match by Harvey. This guy… scum to the end! Is he trying to prepare ahead of time? Is Harvey actually attempting to achieve a total victory by winning after learning his speedy counter - moves?
Laughable. How dumb does he think those around him are? Why reveal his best cards against weak baby fodder like this guy coming up? There’s a reason he chose him as the first opponent too – to send that Arrogant Harvey a counter message right back.
?: “OKAY!! Next up, folks, is a fan favorite! In the last speedy tournament, he may have run short of the first place victory and even unreasonably called the other three contestants that beat him into question – he may have even lied about being the fastest and was quite clearly forced to abolish his own self – proclaimed – and self – made title as of Freshman Speed King! BUT! There’s no denying his talents are number one, and were good enough to earn him a place among the Top Ten freshman Generational Leaders! GIVE IT UP FOOOOORR~ MOMO HUMPHRIES!! Here to prove that HE is none other than the Speed King extraordinaire! The ONLY freshman worthy of being called the Speed King!”
Momo: “...(Did Harvey pay this guy to belittle me? No matter. It’s really not important when I’m about to trash his lackey.)”
?: “(Yes. That’s right. fall in love with my announcing style~ heheheh. I’ll win you all over with my ability to announce what’s hidden deep within all of your hearts, so long as you’re all thinking along the same wavelength, get you folks riled up… and then enjoy the show as this kid blows you all away.)
*Stretches*
Ahhh~ Heh. What Eric Leyman? I’m the man perfectly suited for this role! Not him!”
The first of 30 in Momo’s gauntlet match turned out to be a brutish man named Gunthor. He was a well known Harvey lackey who’s surprisingly just as capable, but just doesn’t have the drive. his timidity when Harvey’s around holds him back way too much.
But, when Harvey gives him an order; his talent is fully unleashed. Time has proven that other than his timid personality during strenuous moments, Gunthor can pull out as many wins as Harvey can!
Dome: “Is everyone ready?”
Both sides nod without breaking eye contact.
Dome: “Then… begin!”
*BOOM!*
Immediately after Harvey, Gunthor tried to pull the same exact stunt by breaking the arena!
Momo wasn’t just going to stand idle after realizing the truth. He disappeared in a flash – appearing right behind Gunthor with his thick military – grade steel-toed boot striking the back of the man’s left kneecap! Instead of jumping, he fell! The punch smashed the floor, causing countless cracks to emerge, however it didn’t break. This was a result of Gunthor pulling back a bit of strength, since his body was now forced to receive a portion of the backlash.
