《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 133 – The Dreaded Third Floor!

Elijah and Alyandrea both felt suffocated by the silence. Each had a reason to reflect over today’s challenges. Meanwhile, back in the first floor lobby, there other classmates as well as groups 1 – A and 2 - B were discussing something of dire importance.
…

.
Cass: “So…can we start picking out our rooms now, or…”
Frieda: “I don’t think so. Those guys are all arguing. Heilmer and that girl who goes by ‘Duchess’ both refuse to go any higher than the first floor bedrooms. Ernie, Sam and Janet Argue that for stability, each class might want to have a floor for themselves.”
Cass: “I don’t see the problem. If we need to share the third floor with people, then let’s do so. But…”
Saphy: “...It should be their own personal decision, right?”
Cass: “YES!”
Frieda: “Go ahead and try telling THEM that.”
Cass and Saphy look on as their ferocious schoolmates practically eat at each other’s throats. Why? The couldn’t for the life of them figure out why the rest of the kids were debating on this matter. Specifically, 5 representatives for each class of 15 and 14 students were adamantly squabbling against their opposing group.
For Class 1 – A, there were Rhianna(changed from Rhiannon), Rice, Phoebe(Her mother named her Phoibe originally to honor their heritage. She clearly did not like it considering she had it changed to its modernized), Tracey and Irvin. On Class 2 – B’s side, their class representatives were Madeline(Abbreviated to Maddie), Ronnie, Soup(fraternal twins with Rice, just like Reggie and Fana), Osmond and Girtrude.
Normally, the official class reps would have a say in helping everyone to calm down after hearing their opinions. But this time only they were helpless.
Girtrude: “Excuse me, Fana? Can you please stay out of this? I appreciate you trying to help but…you’re not helping.”
Irvin: “What? Let ‘er speak! If she wants to vouch for my class 1 - A then let her!”
Madeline: “Oh grow a pair! She wasn’t vouching for you! And if you can’t fight your own battles OR voice your own opinions, then stay out of this conversation!”
Phoebe: “Hey! Leave him alone! All he’s saying is that her opinion counts too! She’s allowed to speak her mind!”
Girtrude: “Not if her opinion SUCKS!”
Osmond: “Can – Can we be a little civil here please?”
Tracey: “I – I agree. We should all be civilized while we-“
Madeline: “Shut. UP Tracey! Nobody wants to hear your whining! The same goes for you, Osmond!”
Osmond: “…”
Tracey: “…”
Phoebe: “Hey! Don't speak to either of them like that!”
Madeline: “Can you hurry up? Get to the point you were making! Don’t stop us if you’re only planning on correcting my manners. That’s what I have a mother for. And frankly, no offense, but... *Looks her up and down* you could never pull off her level of CLASS.”

Phoebe: “Wha- I would NEVER want an obnoxious, stuck-up and unruly child like you even if I WAS a mother! Besides! All I’m saying is that we should ask EVERYBODY for their opinion before deciding! MY class doesn’t WANT to go along with your plan! Right guys?”
Tracey: “I…I…I – I – I – I agree! I don’t wanna be forced to go some – somewhere!”
Irvin: “I also don’t wish for such a thing. I agree with Phoebe. You bullies just don’t want to lose the precious second floor seats to us!”
Rice: “Unlike my brother over there, I absolutely do not agree with the notion that forces us, MY ENTIRE CLASS, on the third floor. That’s practically signing our death sentences! I’m not doing it!”
Soup: “You will if the teacher agrees with us! There’s no way: NO WAY that WE are the ones getting stuck on a higher floor than the second, when it’s practically OURS to begin with!”
Rhianna: “I don’t particularly CARE about which room I sleep in, or which floor I stay on. But seeing how badly you people are scheming together and trying to force everybody from Class 1 - A all the way up on the third floor JUST so there are enough rooms for everyone in 2 - B on the second floor, yeah. I’m feeling a bit entitled to reject that scheme.”
Ronnie: “I also don’t particularly mind which floor I’m on, NOR which room I get assigned to. But the Class 3 – C is already talking about staying on the first floor. They claimed that floor! Naturally, we should all get the second floor since we’re the SECOND class here. You all are the first non – combatant class. Naturally, you guys should take the top – most floor.”
Rice: “SCREW THAT!”
Soup: “No, screw you!”
Rice: “What was that?! Come at me weakling!!”
Soup: “I’m not weak!”
Rhianna: “…Stop kidding. You bunch are only trying to pass off the higher floor to us because you don’t want it yourselves and if we get to choose our rooms, then there’s a chance that any one of you won’t have one available. If THAT happens, well… can’t do anything but run up to the third floor, huh? Well, I don’t want my freedom of choice taken away from me. Everybody should get to choose a room without feeling restricted! Besides; each and every one of you Class 2 – B’ers are personally trying to eliminate my, and the others from Class 1 - A’s freedom at choosing a room we love because of some…silly selfish fear you people have of the third floor. Do you honestly think we would be okay with that?”

Phoebe: “How about this: why don’t we see a show of hands and compare who has the better opinion?”
Girtrude: “No! Your dingy class has one more student, so you will ALWAYS have the advantage! Why don’t we ask the teacher and have HER decide?”
Phoebe: “NO! Because that girl Madeline got inside here with money! There’s no way they’ll let somebody that prissy and rich remain unhappy! Doing that means they would be doing a disservice to one of the school’s prized patrons!”
Madeline: “Mmmmm! Can’t you people just stay at the top floor where you BELONG! I normally would be there myself, but-“
Irvin: “But nothing! There’s no way we’re getting stuck up there! After all – whoever get’s stuck up there at the top is as good as dead!”
Rice: “We aren’t going to serve as your stupid scapegoats. You can all go up there and leave the second floor to us!
Soup: “There’s no way in he-“
Ronnie: “No, I think those that belong up there should go up there. We belong on the second floor.”
Osmond: “Technically speaking… they don’t belong up there either…”
Girtrude: “WHAT?! Just whose side are you ON Osmond?!”
Madeline: “Yes, fess up! Speak!!”
Phoebe: “Finally, somebody with a BRAIN! It’s not US that belong up there – it isn’t ANYONE that belongs up there except for whoever likes it up there!”
Tracey: “No, I think he means that-“
Madeline: “Shut UP Tracey! Nobody wants or NEEDS to hear y-“
Osmond: “Yes, that isn’t what I-“
Phoebe: “HEY! I TOLD you to STOP TALKING to him like that!! LEARN TO LISTEN!”
Reggie: “Uhm, can I try saying someth-?”
Girtrude: “No you cannot! Stay out of this you punk Malibu!”
Reggie: “(Punk Malibu…?) Why can’t I even talk?”
Madeline: “Because your opinions are just as bad as your sisters, so we don’t need it!”
Tracey: “H-Hey! Listen!”
Osmond: “(Thanks Tracey) What I was trying to tell you all, was that the ones who actually belong on the third floor, if we are going based on numbers… is Class 3 – C!”
Girtrude: “…(That makes a lot of sense, but…)”
Phoebe: “Sure, I think I can agree with that too, however…”
Madeline: “Oh…Ohh….OH YOU STUPID, WEIRD, LITTLE PEASANT! Obviously, that would be a normal conclusion to make. OBVIOUSLY that would normally be put into practice – and OBVIOUSLY you don’t have a brain! SINCE it is so obvious, don’t you think any of us have THOUGHT ABOUT IT before?! Don’t you think that would be the very first THING WE DO instead of arguing with each other? To come along together and gang up on the class with less numbers?! WHY then, do you suppose we didn’t do that?! Huh?? Well?! Speak up!!”
Phoebe: “Ignore her rude mannerism guys. That is normally a ‘way out’ of this debate, but the problem would then change to who gets the FIRST floor instead of the second, and WE might be the ones chanting “Let’s do class assigned dorms based on the floor number!” While they try and fight us by using the reasoning we’re bringing to the table: that the freedom to choose our own dorms shouldn’t be tarnished.”
Madeline: “Oh don’t you start sugar coating things! The REAL issue here, is that your OH - SO – PRECIOUS class representative convinced Mrs. Haldeen to give that smaller class FIRST PICK! THAT left the REST OF US stuck picking from the unwanted rooms!
OH and even if we DID manage to speak to them…are either of YOU going to convince that monstrous girl that killed King Harvey with one punch, to vacate to a higher floor?! Hmmm?! Because I’m unfortunately, not that brave. I am perfectly happy with my life.”
Osmond: “King – King Harvey isn’t dead…”
Madeline: “MMMMM!! Same DIFFERENCE!”
Girtrude: “Besides that, their class had it rough for making it to the dorms first. With all of the teachers’ pity focused on them, we can’t compete. Why fight a battle you’re bound to lose? And more importantly, WHO is brave enough to tell Prince Elijah that he needs to leave? Get out of here with that nonsense. The rest may be no-name scrubs and losers, but I’m not messing with either one of those two monsters."
…
Ian: “…”
Brennan: “…”
Li Shun: “…Psst, what do you think we should we do. Should we tell them?”
Brennan: “Tell them what? That if this building is anything like the first, then each floor has like, a gazillion rooms? Sure, I’ll go tell them right now.”
Ian: “*Stop Brennan* Au Contraire, my classmate. They just made fun of us. Let them find out for themselves, hehe. I’m planning on asking the lady teacher, Mrs. Haldeen if we can go pick ours too, since we also had them already chosen before … well, YOU know. Let them all suffer a bit longer.”
