《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 120 – Traitors! Mr. Abrams vs the Nurse Assassins! (and Aeron) Part 2

His crazed and clouded eyes bulged madly, heightening the man’s fearful cackle. Oh, such a wonderful occasion! Blood leaked away through his lips, sending him into a coughing fit. The laughter still proceeded, albeit in between gurgles of blood.
Georgia: “Just what is going on out there?!”
Wuce: “I heard gunshots, I’m going to take a look.”
Ava: “Can that man have been right? He – He wasn’t just crazy…? Were there actually enemies among the 6 of us?”
Winney: “No – Wuce! Don’t go out there. If you get shot, then there’s one less medical expert to take care of the kids. Let’s just trust in Dome. He’ll have to have heard it, we aren’t too far and his senses are sharp. He’ll definitely come. More importantly...this shaking might endanger the patients. Do any of you have-”
Georgia: “Anti – space barriers that resist molecular vibration? *Takes out disc from medical pouch* I always carry one, just in case.”
Wuce: “Ever since the war...most of us do now… you never really know what to expect from villains.”
Ava: “Enough with the melancholy topic! This isn’t a battlefield or a war! Georgia, how many charges?”
Georgia: “Fully charged. As you said, we haven’t been attacked lately, so I’ve had no reason to use it. It’s high quality too – could go ahead and last us the entire month if vibrational attacks aren’t directly targeting the barrier. If they are, then maybe a few hours at most.”
Ava: “I also have one. With two prepared, we should be fine.”
Wuce: “I have a third with me, but it isn’t fully charged.”
Winney: “Wuce, you actually needed to use it? When was this?”
Wuce: “No, I...I just never charged it. It belonged to...It was the last gift from my wife before she...She said it could protect me.”
Winney: “Sorry I asked…”
Ava: “Keep your memorabilia. This doesn’t seem as dangerous as ‘those days’. We’ll just need to trust Dome and Abrams until it’s over.”
…
Ms. Daisy: “What in the heck?”
Oliviera: “See...SEE?! I KNEW she would cause something to break – I KNEW it! She probably punched somebody again!”
Ophelia: “But I’m right behind you.”
Oliviera”...Oh.”
…
Dome: “*Snores*”
*Tremble*
Dome: “…! W-WAH! Wuh…? What the – Did something happen?!”
Leos: “...Not again… Please… just go away…! Leave me alone!”
Dome: “Don’t worry kid. *Sniff* That rumbling will end very soon. I guarantee it.”
…
*Kachik*
Raftia spun around while laughing in uncontrollable fashion. She pointed her gun at the doorway leading to the 4 nurses and continuously fired, reloaded and fired! There were so many bullets shot that they HAD to have died! There was zero chance those kids survived!
...But if one were to gaze at the bullets carefully – they’d notice every single fired round stuck in the air and floating, with little hint of budging an inch. Just like how the beds stopped moving on their own – Mr. Abrams gestured a single glance their way, and all projectiles fired towards the nurses froze!
And it wasn’t only the projectiles.
The walls stopped shaking, Raftia stopped firing her gun. The ‘claw’ was removed from Billbert’s chest and the energy building within him stopped growing! It was almost as if time stopped the actions of everyone save for the infamous magician himself.
His eyes glowered fiercely once more, before calming. Then shifting into a bright red. The very moment his eyes glowed scarlet, a loud, echoing crack spread throughout the hall.
*CRRRAACKK*
Raftia: “Wh – What’s happening?! My bullets!! My gun...!! What are you--AAH!!”
*SHATTER!*
A web of cracks spread throughout each individual bullet, before eventually reaching Raftia’s gun. As if on cue: the very first bullet to crack became powder. After that came the next. And the next…
The cracks soon spread to the valuable ‘artifacts’ in Billbert’s possession. The energy within him sought an escape route the instant it lost it’s fuel for growth. It began rapidly rising to his throat, intermingling with the blood in his mouth and finally discovered its escape route: his parting lips.
Billbert: “Wha--? N-No. NO...NO!! This is… THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE … IMMPOOOSSSIBLEEE! AAAAAAAHHHHH!”
Originally the explosive blast SHOULD have taken out this entire section of the building in a wide blast radius. Thanks to Mr. Abrams’s intervention though, The entire blast was redirected upwards! Similar to the grenade, but since he was reshaping the massive energy build-up inside of the man – it wound up resembling a pillar of nuclear flame.
Mr. Abrams: “Your first mistake is trying to use magical artifacts against me. And the second mistake both of you made… Was endangering my students!”
*SHIIING*
Raftia: “No…No that-that dark – green light… what… what is it--! AAAAAH!”
Two magic circles slowly formed over their heads and a second pair beneath their sneakers. Billbert didn’t notice since he was currently shooting an energy beam out of his mouth and directly into the sky. The circles were obscured from his line of sight. Each artful representation of magic shone just enough to brighten the room after the light fixtures were all destroyed from the shaking.
And then the light fell.
Akin to rays of judgment, powerful pillars of dark green light rained down from the twin magic circles overhead, before connecting with both circles drawn below.
The green overtook Billbert’s red energy, Soon there was nothing left of it. With nothing left to stop it’s decent, the pillar enveloped Billbert and a few seconds of screaming later...he collapsed to the ground like a statue.

Mr. Abrams: “I am truly sorry, friends. I know that under NORMAL circumstances, the two of you probably would not make an enemy of me. Unfortunately, until I figure out what’s going on around here – I cannot undue my magic - stasis spell.”
Aeron: “Haah. How heavy handed…”
Mr. Abrams: “…!”
A handsome dark blonde gym teacher meets a handsome White haired homeroom teacher. Where did this mysterious gym teacher come from? Nobody knows. At the very least, Mr. Abrams doesn’t care enough to find out. There was something far more pressing to inquire about.
Mr. Abrams: “Mr. Malierano.”
Aeron: “Ah – Ah - Ah. Somebody here doesn’t seem to have great memory. This isn’t good! As a teacher, you at the VERY LEAST, should remember the names of your students and fellow teachers. My name is NOT Mr. ‘Malierano’. It’s Mr. Onareilam.”
Mr. Abrams: “…Then Aeron.”
Aeron: “Mmm. We aren’t exactly close enough to call each other by first names either. Since we’re both teachers here, I would like it much better if you addressed me as Mr. Onareilam. Please and thank—”
*BOOM!*
Aeron: “--You.”
Mr. Abrams: “Don’t you fuck with me, Executioner! You were there…! I KNOW you were around the boy – in the FOREST with them while they...they were being massacred! Why … Why did you watch them all die?!”
Aeron: “Hmm~? I don’t know what you’re talking about. What kids? Forest? I was busy eavesdropping on the Principal when I sensed your teleportation being cancelled out, so I came to investigate. That’s really a-”
Mr. Abrams: “You expect me to believe that load of garbage?!!”
The angered homeroom teacher fired three bunnies at the gym teacher. His Eyes flashed white for a moment, and the bunnies started to mutate. Almost like they came out from a child’s happy television channel before entering a horror show, what were once magnificently cute bunnies of light, transformed and became monstrous, grotesque and muscle-bound rabbits of a dark grey shade. The double incisors turned into serrated daggers, and from each paw grew massive claws that dripped a horribly purple energy. The moment that energy touched the floor – it melted away, as if it was never there to begin with.
It basically screamed ‘Don’t touch me!!!!’ To Aeron. Speaking of which, he was no slouch either. The very moment his adversary’s attack came into view, his right eye transformed into a deep, dark blue. In a near instant, all color around the halls mirrored his pupil, transforming a deep sapphire blue in response to its beckoning. The bunnies melted into the walls near them like puddles of water. By the time Aeron’s eye returned to normal, the hall was entirely void of magic creations.
Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Mhm! Now, isn’t that better? Nice and clean-looking. Except for the broken stuff you and those dead nurses caused during your brawl."
Mr. Abrams: “They aren’t dead. I’m not as cold-blooded as you.”
Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Hahaha! Ouch, that hurts. And you should be! If you HAD been cold – blooded, that mercenary wouldn’t be alive to brag how he one-upped the ‘Monitor Man’ hehehe~”
Mr. Abrams: “Answer my question!”
*Boom!*
Mr. Onareilam(Aeron): “Oh I’ll answer it. Even if I WAS there: I would only laugh at how pathetic you heroes are. You haven’t even gained control over the villains, yet you wish to give those very villains an incentive for another invasion? By bringing in children that’re unable to protect themselves? Maybe their deaths would wake you all--”
*BOOM!*
Mr. Abrams: “Enough with that shitty response. Answer properly! My question was ‘why’ not ‘what would you do if you’d been there’. I KNOW you were there!”
Aeron: “Why? Pfff-Ahahahahahahaha! There! THAT question is my answer! Why? Why should I care about a classroom full of nobodies? Why care about fools that’ve only become a distraction to little Ty? Do I look like that foolish brute Borg? I’m no hero! Hahaha! Ah~ To give you a proper answer is meaningless, but since you’re so interested: It’s because in a situation like this one – my brother might be able to grow and become a better killer for the family. Learn to hate~ See for himself how miserable you heroes are! And come to appreciate the art of killing!
Or something like that. You asked for a ‘reason’ right? I wasn’t there, but since you’re mad, I’ll play the villain~”
Mr. Abrams: “Then, what would you have done if your brother really did fall at the hands of that mercenary?”
Aeron: “You should know the answer to that question, as it’s Malierano protocol, but I guess I can humor you. The family doesn’t need weaklings in its ranks. If some random mercenary can kill him, then he’s honestly better off dead. Saves us time and resources.”
