《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 74 – Oliviera's Struggle!

The Dorm was considerably massive. It easily resembled an apartment complex without bothering to look too clustered or cramped. Just by admiring the outer windows alone, Noel could EASILY tell they were separated just enough to warrant each student their own semblance of privacy.

But that didn’t matter.

Not right now at least.

Because something far more important came first.

Mr. Abrams: “Oh! Right, I almost forgot one last detail. You all better pick your rooms now, because pretty soon, the other two classes will be coming by.”

Oliviera: “...Why..?”

Li Shun: “Could it be they’re coming to compare dormitories? Or maybe to brag because they got larger rooms than us??”

Ian: “I don’t see any other dorms…”

Elijah: “Judging by the dorm size, and the pitiful number of students within our own class 3-C: maybe… maybe they will be moving in with us?”

Mr. Abrams: “Yeah, that’s correct. Since there’s only three of you non-combatant classes and about 15 or less students in each, there’s no reason NOT to have everybody remain inside of one, single dormitory.”

Oliviera: “WAAaaahh! I don’t WANT this! Give me my own floor! I need a private butler, a servant to wake me up in the morning, and after my evening naps. Some maids to wash my clothes and properly dry them withOUT damaging them – followed by having the maids separate everything!

E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G!! Including the brands!!!

I shall also be requiring some custom rooms designed for my personal use. These rooms MUST be specially designed – I wish to have a spa room so I may enjoy a relaxing dip, a personal set of rooms, to store clothes in, 5 meets my bare necessities! I want my own private chef who will be at my beck and call, and – and my own security force!

AND they MUST be women!!

I also need a security system to protect myself in case my own security personnel lose their minds over my beauty that ONLY I know the pass-codes for, a chauffeur willing to take me everywhere, a personal fridge where my food won’t be contaminated from the nasty stench from… poor people leftovers.

Try to install a tanning station in the room next to my spa room. Having them beside each other puts my mind at ease.

Finally the bathrooms!! I need my own bathroom. It must have a mirror large enough for all of this. As for dates to expect everything…

You know what? Tee-hee~ I’m not some inconsiderate monster. The school made this decision last minute for my protection, and I fully comprehend that.

2 months is too long, but I can begrudgingly bare with three weeks. I hope you have good memory Mr. Abrams, because although that was only the BARE necessities, If the school budget allows there’s a plethora of things I would like, but again: I am trying to be understanding for the school’s pockets. The non-essential things I shall pay for from my own pocket.”

That look of pride on her upturned mug as she exposed her desires for all to hear – instead, only brought looks of incredulity her way.

Yet, before anybody could properly scold her unrealistic goals, or praise the careful thought put forth in her careful planning…

Mr. Abrams: “No. You get one room of your choosing, and that’s it.”

Oliviera: “…”

Alyandrea: “Pfft...*chuckling*”

Mr. Abrams: “All bathrooms, gyms showering facilities and kitchens are public. As an added touch we’ve placed a restroom on every floor.”

Oliviera: “No no NO! I WON’T move in! I refuse! Don’t think I can be forced to do whatever you people want, I’ll...I’ll call daddy and-”

Mr. Abrams: “Your daddy agreed with this. Just ask him yourself. I completely understand what your going through Oliviera – culture shock sucks. Just try to bear with it for now. You’ll adjust – all of you will.”

Elijah: “But Mr. Abrams! You only teleported us here so we honestly don’t know the path that leads to the non-combatant building! Do you have a map or something helpful that we can use to find our way to school tomorrow morning?”

Mr. Abrams: “Don’t fret, Mr. Reeds will pick you all up when the time comes.(So I can have some extra time to sleep!) stop worrying though~ Even if all three classes stay together, there will be enough staff to handle everyone, protect you kids and point out which route you have to take. Everything has been thought out already.”

Elijah: “...Okay.”

Mr. Abrams: “Mr. Reeds, I assume there’s no trouble with such a directive?”

Mr. Reeds: “…Hoho, no need to worry! Take your time sleeping. I’ll even go the long route.”

Mr. Abrams: “…Thanks.”

Before them all, stood a considerably tall building. It stood to reach what LOOKED to be almost 6 floors high.

Upon entering, boys entered through the right doorway, while girls went through the left. Each group of kids watched as a map of the building started to shine from the afternoon sunlight, lighting up it’s protecting frame.

The building was promptly split apart into an [H] shape: where the ‘shared’ facilities for BOTH genders met up together in the center.

The first floor held facilities used by BOTH genders and was one of the few places each collective of 3-C students could interact. Places like bathrooms weren’t located at the center of the first floor, but instead, at the end of each gender-separated hallway. The shared bathrooms WERE located at the center on the higher floors, but even then the divider split each half apart so both genders could only ‘look but not touch’.

The kids were still on the first floor, meaning there was no basement, or at least not one available to them. 5 floors brightened and dimmed with vibrant glee. The map clearly painted the bottom 3 in green – signifying that they were available for exploring without restriction and the top two in bright orange – meaning they were absolutely off-limits without exception. Another interesting quirk about each map: the male map showed the female side in bright orange and vice versa. Obviously this insinuated that any ‘troublemaker’ caught breaking into the opposite side’s dorm housing will be treated as a ‘trespasser’ and punished accordingly.

The two orange floors above were slightly different, even if they were the same orange tint. They were only reserved for future classes that arrive and would be immediately made available to everyone, especially for a requested room change, once they came into use - such warnings were clearly printed on the double maps.

After traveling around the first floor, the girls found a number of interesting facilities awaiting them. A ‘shared’ bathroom entered their view at the end of the path a bit farther ahead from the turning point.

It’s shimmering coat and white walls were dead giveaways that it was newly built. Not a spec of dirt could be found!

...Other than where they tread upon. Right next to that was a communal shower room modernized to perfection and fit for absolute teenage comfort.

A ‘shared’ Kitchen was next, with 1 obviously custom-designed fridge. It was wide enough to fit 3 family fridges within and revealed three doors - each promptly requiring a student ‘I.D.’ to open, and each of the three handles were correctly labeled with a single class’s Number: ‘1-A, 2-B, 3-C’.

An expansive gym that equaled at least 100 times the size of Alyandrea’s favorite gym ‘Gold-Digger’ – this left her eyes brimming.

A homely set of living rooms and dining rooms on each level which, again, were designed with obvious priority towards comfort.

Everything inside the Dormitory happened to ideologically fall under the word ‘snug’. The inner design simply suited that word perfectly.

It’s just unfortunate that Oliviera had a more pressing concern to bring up.

Oliviera: “Ewww! EWWW! The bathrooms are SHARED?! No personal ones?? ARE THEY TRYING TO KILL ME?! I’m supposed to share a bathroom...during this Corona Virus OUTBREAK??? Aaahhh no~ I need to call daddy ASAP!”

Aria: “Ophelia, please smile. Everybody thought that you were really impressive back there! You even caught yourself some fans saying that Harvey deserved to be punched – Wayne said so!”

Ophelia: “...I can never forgive myself for that. Again...again, I…”

Alyandrea: “...Hey. Why don’t we hit the gym?”

Aria: “Pa-Pardon? E—Even me??”

Alyandrea: “ESPECIALLY you.”

Ophelia: “I...I’m going to pick out my room first.”

Aly: “But you’ll come AFTER, right?”

Ophelia: “...I-”

Aly: “Trust me. You need this. When you’re feeling some type of way, blowing off steam is the best, and one of the healthiest methods I know about. Turn that emotional mumbo jumbo into strength! You too Oliviera – girl PUT down that phone! The school wouldn’t have allowed the non-combatants, who are touching and getting touched the MOST during mock rescue attempts, to catch the corona virus or ANY other disease.

They’d make sure that we all got our vaccines first.”

Oliviera: “...There ain’t a cure yet for the other two…”

Alyandrea: “Oliviera this is a fucking school for superheroes. One thing our school has that others don’t is healing heroes! Just take your stress out on a punching bag or something and come hit the gym!”

Oliviera: “...Sorry, I don’t do gyms. I’ve gotta call Charleston to have him sneak over here and rescue me…”

Alyandrea: “Ain’t NOBODY rescuing you! This isn’t a prison – it’s an opportunity! Don’t you want to look better?!”

Oliviera: “…”

Aly: “So come--”

Oliviera: “Okay, I’ve gotta make a call. I promise I’ll check out the smelly gym after that.”

Alyandrea: “Smelly…hmph! That prissy fatty.”

Oliviera: “Goodness leechums, they just DON’T understand! This place...ISN’T LIVABLE for me!! I’m so displeased right now—aaah!! Nononononononononono!

Out of range?! AAAAAHHHH! MY life… it’s over!!

...Hm? One – ONE bar...? It was...by the window…

So…

Doesn’t that mean…

.

.

...If I go outside...I’ll have better service?”

...A 20 minute jog later.

Oliviera: “I knew that place was a prison. How dare they take away my ability to use the inter-”

Noel: “Okay, this is far enough. Hurry up and ask your questions. I’ll say so if I can’t answer ‘em.”

Leos: “I want answers. Why... Why….WHY DID YOU KILL EVERYONE! You fucking murderer!”

Oliviera: “...(...What the plub….?)”
