《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 62 – The runaway Malierano!

Mr. Abrams: “(It's already been demanded, I made sure of it. but our insistence was returned with a...strange, for lack of a better word, response. They claim that both of their diviners tried peering into the void, in search of a better explanation:
but all that anyone heard from them afterwards were terrifying screams.
They had bodyguards at the time, so there were supposedly 'quick' responses from the two organizations. Still, what everyone apparently saw, assuming they're telling the truth, was described to me as a bizarre and shocking sight. The two diviners both had their eyes, nose, mouth and ears all leaking out blood simultaneously. The amount of blood created an eerie puddle for each of them on the ground in the shape of an eye.)”
Borg: “(Is there any proof of this? Pictures or videos...anything credible? What about those truth-seekers who can detect if they're lying?)”
Mr. Abrams: “(No. When I asked they apologized sarcastically while saying they were too preoccupied with checking on her safety and ensuring her vitals were in tact, to waste time worrying about making a record of the traumatic scenes. I checked. At the very least, those peons delivering the messages believed what they were told.)”
Borg: “(See, isn't that strange? Even with those in charge of checking her vitals, they should have investigated and snapped a few photos of the supposed 'Bloody Eyeball'. I think they're hiding something.)”
Mr. Abrams: “(Well then, stay alert. Oh, and watch your nephew properly, so that he doesn't cause me more trouble.)”
Borg: “HAHAHA! Relax~ I've been watching him perfec--- hm?
…
…
…
Shit.)”
Mr. Abrams: “”(Why do I have a bad feeling from that 'shit' you just thought? What happened over there?”
Borg temporarily split his concentration from fully attuned to his conversation through the telepathy ring on his finger, to scanning the field, the stands, and even the skies above, with a different metallic ring called the DNA finder.
By inputting a specific individual's DNA into the ring, it can scan for a match. This scan could even penetrate through certain levels of shapeshifting cast by magic, to scan for a possible match. If he wants to break through physical shapeshifting, he would need an aura finder, which can easily detect a unique aura that matches what it's programmed to remember – no matter the shape or form they take. But to find his nephew, who has no such technology or power, the DNA finder is enough.
It won't activate without a specific DNA imbued beforehand in order to locate a match, and its only function is to respond with 'FOUND A MATCH', 'NO MATCH FOUND', and in case somebody is hiding themselves within a barrier: it will simply read 'ERROR', due to not being capable of scanning past the strange energy reading that bars its progress.

[NO MATCH FOUND]
Borg: “(I...uh, I didn't know that a new competition had already started out on the stadium fields.
.
.
.
It seems that I lost him.)”
Mr. Abrams: “(...)”
Afraid to turn around, he did so, anyway...
And failed to find who he was looking for!
Mr. Abrams: “Where the hell is he?!”
Elijah: “!! I-”
Oliviera: “!!! YAAAH! HE WENT TO THE-THE BATHROOM!”
Mr. Abrams: “Bathroom? He told you that?”
Oliviera: “Y-Yes, yes he did! We... were talking about chocolate fudge balls my family makes that go into the mixed nuts I was eating, and – well he got distracted by the tv.”
Elijah: “He pointed out how the direction that first place kid was looking at, if examined from a sky angle, would have to be our room. That was when I noticed how right he was, and we changed topics about him possibly remembering Noel's little declaration this morning.”
Oliviera: “At first I was like, 'Oh my gosh, OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH ohmygosh! HE – HE'S LOOKING THIS WAY! Could – could it be because he SAW my Oliv-Yayy video? OR could it be... that he FOLLOWS ME?! Oh My Gods Above!!!' But, ahahah...Elijah's point made a little bit more sense. That's why you're the real class representative~”
Mr. Abrams: “So... at some point during this conversation, he excused himself and left you with that message?”
Oliviera: “I mean, he tried calling you, but your face looked like a fish's and you didn't respond. So he left us that message for when you wake up.”
Mr. Abrams: “...(I can't help it, the ring requires immense concentration with somebody like Borg who can't even properly connect to the ring more than half the time. I had to take control of the mental connection once he finally responded.)”
Oliviera's face suddenly scrunched up fiercely as she stared at her teacher, who was busy in his own thoughts once again, about to concentrate on his powers.
Oliviera: “Mr. Abrams, You're making that face again.”
Mr. Abrams: What is it now? I'm trying to concentrate and-”
Oliviera: “You better not fart.”
Mr. Abrams: “...”
Elijah: “Oliviera! That's rude... and also improper!”
Oliviera: “I can't help it, he just makes that face like he's getting constipation or something! I'm only looking out for my precious nostrils.”
Elijah: “Sorry Mr. Abrams, but why were you so angry earlier anyways?”
Oliviera: “Yeah, yeah! That scared me!”
Mr. Abrams: “Oliviera, one more comment like that and I'm teleporting you out of here.

Going to the bathroom... I can't believe you all actually bought that load of crap.”
Elijah: “Huh?”
Oliviera: “...Wait. Are you signifying... that he – he SNUCK AWAY?! Does that mean that HE – HE LIED to me?!”
Elijah: “Excuse me for saying so, Mr. Abrams, but aren't you just a 'little' bit too paranoid? He looked like he really needed to go to the bathroom.”
Mr. Abrams: “Haaah, this is why kids are just so... the three of you are freshman, correct?”
Oliviera: “Yeah, duh.”
Elijah: “Yes, and I'm happy to be one as well!”
Mr. Abrams: “Alright then...can somebody tell me how exactly would ANY of you freshman have even an inkling as to where a bathroom might actually be inside this school's private stadium? ESPECIALLY so, when this stadium isn't even open to the public, save for an emergency or for special events like today?”
Both Elijah and Oliviera: “...No....”
Mr. Abrams: “Then(What was his story again?) how exactly would someone that JUST moved to Herotopia be able to find out where the bathroom for a place as large as this, is?”
Elijah: “Th-That's right... how could I have forgotten – we... we're freshman! I don't even know where the bathroom is in this building!”
Oliviera: “Oooh~ Sounds like a fantastic adventure! Gimme a sec' I just need to make a new post before I go-”
Mr. Abrams: “No. I'll be be going... alone. You both just stay here in case he comes back while I'm out searching.”
Oliviera: “Couldn't you just sit there and activate your remote viewing to find hi – Oww, ok ok I'M SORRY, jeez!”
Elijah: “Mr. Abrams?”
Mr. Abrams: “What do you want?”
Elijah: “Could Noel's disappearance, if he really isn't going to the bathroom,
have anything to do with that kid who came in first place: the new speed King, Nathan Ericson? I'm only asking because earlier today, before the assembly, He already knew some strange rumors about the 'Ericson family' that even I never heard of before.”
Mr. Abrams: “...(I forgot. This kid is the genuine class representative for a reason. Even if he doesn't know now, he'll remember unusual details without even trying. His mind is quite sharp. What a useful trait to have.) Do you remember what Noel mentioned about his education?”
Oliviera: “That he-”
Elijah: “That he was home-schooled all his life.”
Oliviera: “...”
Mr. Abrams: “Yes, that's perfectly right. Good job. Good try as well, Oliviera. Now, remember what he said inside of the assembly hall?”
Oliviera: “...No.”
Elijah: “...a little. I kind of remember him saying something about the Ericsons...”
Mr. Abrams: “Well, that right there would've answered your question, Elijah. He said the man who raised him had ties to the Ericsons. He might've been curious and gone to check that kid out, or maybe that kid called him out. Either way, it's dangerous to leave him alone. Let me concentrate for a bit.”
Oliviera: “Oooh~ Do you think that he secretly IS an Ericson? Or – or, maybe JUST maybe he really WANTS to be an Ericson, like, maybe he wants to be a guy like Nathan who can blow away the opposition! OR or maybe – he wants to KILL that Ericson kid so that he can replace him – OOH OR MAYBE just maaybe he knows that guy, like, they coulda grew up or someth-”
Mr. Abrams: “Oliviera. I. Am. Trying. To. Concentrate. Please listen to what I just asked of you.”
Oliviera: “Okay. Sorry.”
Mr. Abrams: “...That's better. (Still, I thought he wouldn't have noticed. My conversations with that ring make it difficult to keep track of time in the real world. It's best to keep things short from now on.)”
Mr. Abrams previously thought Noel hadn't noticed Nathan Ericson spying on him. He thought for sure that Noel would respond negatively or with pride to the clear instigation. After all, who wouldn't remain quiet after being glared at so hostilely?
Well, his assumption was entirely wrong... because Noel immediately discovered the pair of eyes locked onto him from the very beginning! It held clear hostility, and his family would never train him to not be capable of reacting to hostility directed towards him from any direction.
It's just that it wasn't worth his time.
All that he was focused on doing at the moment... was looking for directions to the bathroom!
He really did have to go! Badly!
