《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 20 - The fallen Star Family and the girl named Fate Part 2

When he next awoke, Prince Derian could not help but hack up mouthfuls of blood. Their bodies truly aren't designed for travel. If it wasn't for his mother's order, then he would rather fight alongside them, as he believed they were doing right about now.
Unfortunately, that was far from reality.
Nothing could be further from the truth, but this young and angsty teen refused to heed his clan's beliefs that they needed to hide away within the palace, due to the many dangers they would face while venturing outside.
If there was any silver lining from this cruel, and unjust calamity, it was that they would now be capable of learning the ways of the outside world.
However...before he could take even a single step forward, he collapsed to the soft, earthen ground.
Why?
Did that little amount of blood he'd spat out, affect him that much?
Derian felt extremely vexed at such a thought. Even as his vision blurred and consciousness faded, he began feeling indignant about his future.
'If only I didn't have this insufferable body!
If only...'
?: “My!”
'…? This voice? Whose...voice...is..th..is...?'
When the boy came to: he was in a single bed, sharing between himself and his twin sisters.
As it turned out, the Royal family had been sent to the backyard of a home clinic. The lone doctor there took care of his entire family, sometimes making a few trips to the attic of the clinic.
As the family grew healthier their powers grew stronger. Finally, in a bid to gather information regarding their location, The Queen's sister and some of the older children use their powers to 'read' the female doctor's history, and finally, her life's ultimate destiny: from the moment she was born to the day she would die. As it turns out, she would only live for a few more years before some men she saves burn her clinic down, kill her other patients and rob her blind.
Through that vision, the queen's sister and her kin also learn that this woman actually has a daughter upstairs, hidden and out of sight. This sole family member of hers happens to suffer from an extremely similar condition to their own clan!
Great! As it turns out, Fate has a special power, one eerily similar to their own, albeit on a minor scale. She is able to 'peer' into a mysterious energy flow. This flow is always out of young Fate's reach, yet by looking at it, that alone is oftentimes enough to grant her visions.

Not even the queen's sister knew anything about this unknown energy flow, but her clan did feel a strange...connection, to it. As they watched the Doctor's history like a movie film, They came upon the realization that her ability...although different at the source, shares one important similarity to their own power. It heavily strains her body, meaning it's also extremely overbearing on the user, much like their ability to warp reality and alter destiny.
The Star folk, thankful to the stranger that saved their people in a dire time of hopelessness, offer their services around the clinic – only to be rejected. The reasoning? 'Patients need to rest and not move around so carelessly. The thought and desire to help, is more than enough.'
Not at all happy with such a response, and having gained plenty of knowledge about Earth after secretly peering into her life history: They all unanimously agree to help her, even if only a tad.
The older children belonging to the Queen and Kings' deceased siblings, the queen's still living younger sister, and finally her own husband, all head out towards the nearest town, tasking themselves with the self-imposed duty to spread word to the locals of an amazing clinic that nobody has heard much of yet.
At first, this brought good business to the motherly doctor who had been in dire need of funds to help her sickly, bedridden daughter.
Feeling unsatisfied with having to stay still, Derian once again offers his services, gaining a chuckle and slight approval to help her with minor chores. However, during those chores he heard a resounding *Thunk* echo from the upstairs floor. Fearing something terrible had befallen the kind, middle-aged doctor, he rushed all the way up...
and that's when they met. The Fallen prince, in search of a solution to his peoples' crises...
and a sickly pale, short-haired girl, named Fate.
.
.
.
The first time they met, both received a scolding from the usually kind doctor: who was already waiting for her daughter's return by the empty bed.
The boy for coming upstairs without permission plus abandoning the chores he promised to take care of, and the girl for sneaking out once again in order to climb atop the clinic's roof...only to bang her head hard while trying to climb back inside through her bedroom window.

Needless to say that their first meeting was...quite awkward.
The two of them couldn't help but laugh a little at the indignant feeling of being lectured in front of the other. After that, the boy began visiting her with his twin little sisters in tow as many times as permitted.
One could even say their meeting had sprouted that fanciful feeling often mentioned in fables – it was love at first sight. A love that continued blossoming for the next 3 years they spent together in the Friendly doctor's clinic.
During that time, Every member of their clan, save for the youngest ones, tried their utmost to search for a method of saving their people, doomed to a deadly fate. Deep down, they knew – The royal King and Queen merely used this 'mission' as an excuse. What method could they find to save their advanced intergalactic people, in a far off distant and still obviously primitive planet such as Earth? It was foolishness! Yet they continued their search, merely happy that some of their clans members, like Derian, were finding love here.
Alas, once you desire something, it is often the case that the exact opposite comes forth instead. Though the adults spread only GOOD news about the clinic, much to their caretaker's delight, it attracted serious ire from a jealous, insufferable doctor within the city who began to lose customers to her. Fearing the worst, he decided to hire a group of local thugs to kill the popular doctor and burn her clinic to the ground.
Yet, who was the queen's sister? How could she not become privy to a change in the friendly doctor's destiny? Naturally, she mustered up the strength to run all the way back to the clinic, warning the doctor ahead of time. Thanks to that, both the doctor and the remaining patients managed to safely move out in two groups before the armed gang could even arrive to cause trouble.
Yes, everybody was safe...
Except for one girl. The sickly child named Fate was nowhere to be found!
She had once again, snuck her way out the bedroom window and onto the rooftop! The only reason the doctor hadn't made a fuss about it until meeting with the others in a much safer location was due to believing her daughter already escaped ahead of them in the first group! This was a mere lapse in communication, because the clan members who actually checked her bedroom only noticed the room lacking humans and 'assumed' she had vacated and left ahead. Once her room was discovered to be empty, it was reported to the doctor that she 'went ahead' who then trusted the misguided clan member as telling the truth!
She tied her hair up into a bun and planned to march right back into the clinic where her enemies awaited her arrival.
But Derian already reacted faster than her.
With his powers, no matter how sickly his body may be, he still managed to discover the missing crush of his, Fate, and turned back around before anyone could notice. Running back to the clinic, he of course, found the entire building lit aflame. Surrounding the building were 30 armed men discussing the doctor's whereabouts, which direction to begin their search and cackling at their own handiwork all the while.
From the rooftop, if one looked carefully from afar, they could see the very girl Derian was searching for attempting to hide herself from view, but remaining close to the edge still as she tried to understand what exactly was going on.
The now 18 year old felt his heart wrench and tighten at such a sight. If the building's foundation were to collapse, she absolutely would not escape with her life attached! Although it put a serious strain on his body, he used his clan's specialty and warped reality itself around every armed thug in the area, causing their bodies to vanish without a trace in the time-span it takes one to blink. Still, the fire raged ever fiercely, and there was already too much of it to allow Fate a return trip back through her bedroom window, much less a safe passage down the stairs.
