Chapter Thirty-Four
Li Feng first checks the first quadrant of the floor. With ground magic, and a spell similar to the one that allowed him to overhear the conversation in the restaurant, Li Feng can identify where people are moving across the stone floor. Every step makes a tiny vibration which gets sent to Li Feng, directing him to where the movement is happening.
Because Ya didn’t know where exactly she escaped from, Li Feng doesn’t investigate the apartments that open to the stairway. There are a few people here and there, but no groups larger than three. There’s the chance of part of the group not being on the ground, or being in a separate location, so Li Feng includes all groups of three or more in his search.
Most apartments don’t give Li Feng any signal back, their residents probably sleeping or away from their home. Six apartments have three people in them, and one has four. The first apartment Li Feng selects to search is the one with four people in it, and he immediately makes his way over to it.
The apartments on all levels of the mine look identical, and there is no way to look inside the apartment except for opening the door or the viewing hole, but Li Feng can’t open either of them from outside the apartment. Instead, Li Feng uses ground magic to open a small hole next to the door, allowing him to see inside the apartment. The magic is silent, and nobody in the apartment notices as Li Feng looks inside.
It’s four men sitting around a table and playing a card game. Li Feng doesn’t have any reason to believe they have something to do with Lam Bai’s disappearance, but he keeps his spell active around their room, ready to alert him if someone leaves. Closing the hole in the wall, Li Feng goes to investigate a room with three people in it.

In the end, none of the apartments show any sign of Lam Bai or five men that would have kidnapped her. Li Feng searches the remaining three quadrants of the level, in order, but doesn’t find anything there either. At last, having searched everywhere, he returns to the stairway and Ya.
“Did you find them?” Ya asks.
“No,” Li Feng says, walking onto the stairway down. “I’m going to search the next floor.”
The seventy first level of the mine is similar to the seventieth, and Li Feng has the identical results from his search. There are a few groups of three and four, and a single group of five, but they are all doing ordinary things in their apartments. The seventy second and third levels are the same, and Li Feng restricts his search rooms with four or more people as he searches the remaining seven levels.
This search yields no results relative to Li Feng. Even after going back and looking through all the apartments with just three people in them, Li Feng doesn’t find any signs of Lam Bai.
“Maybe we should ask the Chen family for assistance,” Ya suggests as she and Li Feng ascend to the seventieth level of the mine.
“No, I will not ask another family for assistance,” Li Feng states. He had goals to become the next Heavenly Ascended Emperor. It would look bad if he was seen asking for help from other families instead of relying on his own power. Besides, Li Feng still has a few tricks up his sleeves.
“Then, what will you do now?” Ya asks.
“Tell me, has the mine ever flooded before?” Li Feng asks.
“That’s outrageous,” Ya says. “Of course not.”
“And how about cave ins?” Li Feng asks.
“Occasionally, but they’re usually constrained to a few levels,” Ya answers.
“Do the residents evacuate, or do they stay in their apartments,” Li Feng asks.
“I don’t know,” Ya replies. “I’m sure some come to the stairway and others stay at their apartment.”
“Follow me,” Li Feng says and ascends one level. “Tell me if you recognize any of the men from your attack,” Li Feng tells Ya, and the floor begins to shake.

One Piece's Messenger of the Sea
When Adam Bailley gets recommended to read One Piece by one of his customers, he enjoyed it's absurdity more than he thought he would. Unfortunately God seems to have played a prank on him as before he could finish it he woke up in the body of a young fishman in East Blue. What's a guy to do in this situation? OC + Strawhat fic. No devil fruit or plans for shipping with Nami or Robin, sorry. I want to keep the spirit of the original.
8 125Hero Demon Synthesis
Classes; Skills; Spells. In a fantasy world that is ruled by the Gods, a person's life relies heavily on these three items. What can a Warrior do by herself? Well, it depends on the situation really. Could a single Warrior really take on a Dragon alone? Well, what if they were in a Party? A bad Party goes off to die. A good one though can change the world. This is the story of Paige, a seemingly simple Warrior, who lives a seemingly normal life. Author's Notes: Updates are every three days unless noted otherwise. 8 189Campaign: A Project Starfarer Sidestory
This novel’s lore, story and characters are entirely fictitious. Certain long-standing countries, institutions, organizations, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but their histories and the characters involved are wholly imaginary. "What will you do with your freedom?"Growing up in a meritocracy, infamous for being lawless, Jordan Astros had been repeatedly asked this question, since times unmemorable. In a society where one's accomplishments and skills were tallied and ranked in order to determine one's standard of living however, Jordan quickly grew to understand that 'freedom,' was a reward earned by accumulating Merit. And so, after his 17th birthday, Jordan departed his Clan's habitat in orbit of Europa to embark on his century-long journey to rise from E-Ranker to S-Rank. And spread his name throughout the Galilean Powers. *** Campaign is a sidestory within its NanoPunk parent series, Project Starfarer. (Yet to be published. Be on the lookout for it!) In which the first transhuman known to humanity, the Starfarer, invokes a plan to seed terrestrial life throughout the galaxy. Campaign takes place around the middle of that timeline and explores the life of a key figure in that universe, Jordan Astros. And explores one of four great nations thriving in the Solar System during that time. A Meritocracy that spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers. What you'll find in Campaign: Brutal melee combat in airless and pressurized low gravity environments. A technology based progression system influenced by merit and accomplishments; using tech that's theoretically possible to exist in the near-future. An exploratory perspective of the dozens of Galilean societies, or 'Powers,' from Jordans; and sometimes others', POV. What you wont find: Romance. Harems. An MC who receives shortcuts, handouts, learns things unnaturally fast or has OP plot armor. Jordan is not a special individual. Jordan is not OP and he likely never will be. He's no different than any other citizen in the Galilean Powers and will certainly face as many defeats as he does wins. He'll suffer losses and grow as an individual, while the Powers evolves around him as well. This is semi-hard sci-fi/NanoPunk and takes place in a fictional version of our future solar system. Centered around technology that's plausible in the near-centuries to come. Everything abides by the laws of physics/thermodynamics (As best that I understand them, at least. I'm no scientist.) No artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, teleportation, FTL, or hand-wavy materials will be found in the Project Starfarer universe. Just advanced automation, nanotechnology, cybernetics and AI. Set in the backdrop of space. *I do not own the photo used for the cover*
8 249Myths from Garsuna: The Rise of Zilliad
This story follows the mythos of Garsuna. Within Garsuna there are fourteen deities who created humans to help them battle against the Makers of Garsuna. The deities often copulated with their human creations and the result of one of these relationships is Zilliad, daughter to Haboo, deity of the winds. Zilliad makes a name for herself as a soldier in the War of the Makers and gains renown amongst the humans by following the deeds set out for her by Isaa, deity of the seas and King of the deities.
