Chapter Thirty
Li Feng changes into his gray tunic and leaves his hotel room, leaving it unlocked because he doesn’t have the key to the door. At the desk on the first floor, he speaks to the woman behind it, “Have you seen my servant, today?”
“Hmm,” The woman hums, thinking about the people she’s seen during the day. “There was someone like that earlier this morning.”
“Did she tell you where she was going?” Li Feng asks, placing his hands on the desk. He’s barely taller than the desk, and the woman towers over him like any adult would.
“She asked where she could get breakfast at and bring it back here,” The woman says.
“And, what’d you tell her?” Li Feng asks, becoming annoyed.
“There’s a shop, eh, six buildings towards the mine where you can have your food packaged for eating later. I told her to go there,” The woman says, having to think slightly.
Without responding to the woman, Li Feng turns and walks out the door of the hotel. He turns right out the door and walks toward the center of the city, counting the shops he passes on his right until they number six. The sixth shop is a specialty store for steam buns and has trays of examples in the windows. Past the trays, Li Feng can see six people eating at four tables within the shop.
Getting his identification card from his pocket, Li Feng enters the shop and walks to a woman taking the order of a table.
“Two with eggplant,” A man sitting at the table says as Li Feng approaches.
“Hey, you,” Li Feng speaks at the waitress, interrupting the man. “How long have you been here, today?
“Kid, fuckoff,” The man says, glaring at Li Feng.

“Speaking as a member of Li family,” Li Feng says, holding out his identification card for the man and waitress to see. “You fuckoff.”
“Alright-,” The man says, moving to stand from his chair, but he is stopped by the man sitting next to him.
“Don’t do it,” The man next to the aggravated man says. “The Li family is famous for having strong cultivators.”
“I know that,” The aggravated man says, wiping away his friend’s hand. “But this little shit needs to know to respect his betters.”
“How long have you been here, today?” Li Feng ignores the men and asks the waitress.
“Just a few hours,” The woman meekly says. She, unlike the aggravated man, isn’t neglectful of showing Li Feng’s family name the proper respect.
“Hey, listen-” The aggravated man yells at Li Feng, but is stopped by Li Feng’s reaction.
Reaching out with his hand pointed towards the aggravated man, Li Feng produces a cloud of snow with ice magic and pushes it over the man. “Where can I find the waitress that was here this morning?” Li Feng asks the waitress, ignoring the aggravated man wiping his face.
“Spirit stage?!” The aggravated man reals back and stands from his chair. “How is it possible for someone so young?!”
“It was An Yu,” The waitress replies to Li Feng’s question.
“Just let him do what he wants,” The aggravated man’s friend says, resigning himself from the interaction between his friend and Li Feng.
“And what’s your name?” Li Feng asks the waitress.
“Right,” The aggravated man says, turning his body to face his table.
“My name is Zheng Chao,” The waitress says.
“Well then, Zheng Chao, I’d appreciate it if you could show me to miss An Yu’s residence,” Li Feng says and walks to an empty table. “I’ll wait here until you get off work.”

As Li Feng sits, Zheng Chao continues to take the order of the table. The aggravated man doesn’t let his soaked clothes ruin his experience, and he orders three steamed buns with pork in them. The man with him orders two sesame seed steamed buns and one without filling. After taking their order, Zheng Chao tries to take Li Feng’s, but he declines.
Li Feng doesn’t have any money, but more importantly, he can’t let anything distract him from finding Lam Bai.

They felt the golden dust of their divinity drift away from them, and the message of that wind became clear… This Winter will never end so that the Earth will.

What to expect: - cold steel weapons with magic- colonial-esque era- elements of strategy (including logistics)- powerful mages that can't block a crossbow bolt.
