The three meridians in the tail are still meridians and hold qi, as such you can nourish the meridians with the energy of heaven and earth as well as with heaven and earth treasures, 4. Physically train your tail this will strengthen your tail but is also the slowest method. The third stage was better than Vegeta had originally expected, as originally he didnt put the third level in his eye as he could not lose control to the savage Ape mind so he thought the third level was of no use, but now that it could allow for his arm or his leg to transform for 3 seconds allowing him to land a blow that was 5 times stronger than normal without the need for moonlight! This was simply to good to be true! as Vegeta kept reading he saw the requirements to breakthrough to the 3rd stage, absorb the blood of a 4th stage or higher magical ape beast and have the tail meridians full of either bloodqi.
