《Goblin Kingdom》Third-A Normal Day, a Big Discovery

The torches beside the cell started to burn, and this was the signal for the goblin to wake up. After this year, many things have changed; For example, his body had become various times stronger, stronger than even the strongest goblin in his tribe. He now had a mature expression, because of all the hardships endured in this year for the sake of being free, and all the efforts were found to be fruitful. Indeed, in just three more months he would get his so precious freedom.
After waking up and reading a little bit of the latest book received from Alom, the goblin washed his face and went down to the kitchen; It was work time. He caught the knife and started to skin a big boar with no difficulty at all.
The boar was very important because it would be delivered to Bultharr, so all of the processes needed to be twice as carefully and delicate as normal and this just showed how they trusted Norgolin so much to the point of giving him such an important task. With the skinning process done, next was the boning; Hammer in hand, with the help of one of the chiefs, the goblin started to smash bone after bone, carefully choosing which one to break.
Now it was time for the rest of the chiefs to work, so Norgolin went to wash the wooden dishes. This gathering was very civilized, but not to the point of having fancy furniture or anything like that.
''Have you heard? They hunted this boar especially for Bultharr because of his last achievement; He got a Harpy egg! Don't know how he managed to sneak into the harpy territory though'' One of the Armons said.
''What? A harpy egg? Indeed, people are getting more and more daring these days. I remember when we hadn't found the Knowledge gem, and we couldn't even make a proper tool, or manage iron, just like our little green friend here, lol. Now our leader can even do crazy things like that'' Older Armon replied, without missing the chance to joke with the fact of the low intelligence of the goblins.

''Ok, let us concentrate on this boar right here, enough of the chitchat. Zezin, pass me the sauce, it's time to be fancy''
''All right Fétto, here it is, take it and stick it on this boar's ass so our boss doesn't go complain mode.''
Norgolin ignored the useless chatting, as he wasn't in the mood to talk about these strange harpies or retort again the jokes of some idiots. When working time was over, he went to do some exercises with his magic in secret; He used all the knowledge he could get from the books his friend gave and tried to manipulate the Mana and Battle Power at the same time. He could choose the easy way and use just one at a time but he was the protagonist, we know he wouldn't do that. During the year that passed, he had tried the same thing night after night, and today was when he progressed the most. Indeed, he got to make a ball of each energy in each hand, and with this, he was very happy; Now the goblin could try to develop his next plan, and that was to make an armor of Battle Power while using Mana balls to attack. But even if he spent 20 minutes to create the energy balls Norgolin was all spent. Not a single drop of Mana or Battle Power remained.
When Norgolin finally ended all he had to do in the day, he started to wonder...why was he so interested in knowledge? Why did his mom teach him to be like that? Did it happen just because he was the protagonist or there's something else about it? the goblin also couldn't understand how the Wisdom Gem made people so intelligent...maybe it was some heavenly treasure that would bring about destruction to the Armon race? Nah, that was too much of a cliche. What about a treasure that he would steal and absorb, making him incredibly powerful? Nope, he couldn't imagine how to use it, much less absorb it; So how did that little thing give intelligence to him? ''wait a minute...I remember a day when the Armons where in danger, so Bultharr said the gem ''told'' him about it, but if you think about it the gem was supposed to make people capable of discovering things, not revealing these things for them, so there is only one possibility; The gem isn't giving Wisdom, but teaching them how to do things! and this type of teaching(by dissertating about things, not just putting the knowledge in the brain) must have a sentient being behind it.''

All of this left just one possibility...The Wisdom Gem wasn't what they thought it was; Indeed, it was just a magical object used for communicating at long distances! And from this one can assume that there's someone controlling the Armon tribe from behind the scenes all this time. But this didn't explain how he got more and more intelligent each day(but that is a story for another time). He could either tell them about his discovery or...
''Screw this shit.'' First of all, he was here only because they captured him, so it wouldn't make him very fond of the race. Second, the only Armon he really cared about was Alom, and he couldn't tell just Alom because he didn't trust the rabbit enough for that. Last things last, all of them(the Armons) made fun of him and pissed the goblin every fucking day. So for all these reasons, Norgolin was even happy that they would get screwed up someday.
Norgolin immediately went to sleep, with his conscience clear.
