《Black Ice》Banquette - Chapter 20

Laura and Luo entered the room, the crowd immediately looking towards them.
Laura's charm was still there, however her demeanor was vastly different, holding her head up high like a proud peacock. She wasn't wearing any makeup, her skin flawless, pure as jade.
She was wearing a tight red dress which made her even more alluring to the eye, resulting into a lot of attraction from the male audience.
On the other hand Luo was just a little girl, but she could still be consider pretty for her age. Her large phoenix like red eyes made her cute. She was wearing a crown on her head that had some feathers stitched on it. It was clear that those feathers were quite unique thanks to the aura they were emitting.
Heise took a look and then turned around to find the food. He really wasn't interested in such things and since he hadn't eaten for a few hours he was quite hungry.
Laura and Luo entered their designated area, slowly settling down. Luo seemed irritated, while Laura had a smile on her face, seeming to be enjoying the situation.
A group of girls approached Luo and started a conversation. Luo's expression instantly turned bright after seeing them, it was obvious that they were good friends.
"So Luo did you see your fiance?" Asked one of her friends, clearly teasing her.
Luo shook her head. Although she knew that this banquette was for her fiance and her, she still didn't know what he even looked like. They were both children, but in this world females and males were distinct from the age of 6 thanks to the awakening. It needed to be distinct, but that didn't mean people with different sexual tendencies didn't exist. In fact those people were quite normal here.
Ones hormones started acting up from the day of the awakening which resulted in men and women being able to have a fully working sexual organs from at the age of 8. This might be considered abnormal by earth's standards, but one needed to understand that this place was full of war, a race needed to repopulate faster to survive. So this trait has been part of the human race thanks to evolution. A child's growth was rapid as well.
It wouldn't be weird to see a 10 year old child have the height of an average size adult on earth. In fact the people here were taller in average than those on earth, but it wasn't really that distinct since everyone was quite tall. If the Height of 2 Meter person was considered tall on earth, that was the average for humans here. Although females were shorter thanks to a weaker constitution, they were still taller in average. In fact the Height didn't bother them at all. Their bodies were cultivated and are able to handle any size. Giantification arts were also a thing.
However, since they were still considered kids, even though their puberty hit really early people still had to marry quite a bit into their years and kids weren't even considered, since cultivation and power was the main focus for talented people. On the other hand normal humans that didn't have the talent for cultivation had different paths.
One of the girls pointed out Heise and said " That's your fiance".

Luo looked towards the direction the girl pointed out and found a little boy. He was wearing a suit with black sunflowers, his hair slick back. However what made a big impact on her was his deep black eyes, making her zone out. He was currently munching on some food, his eyes turning into crescents in enjoyment. He looked quite pleased with the food.
Heise sensed a gaze, quickly turning and looking back at her, after a while he returned to eating food.
on the other hand Luo took a while to return to herself, while snorting she looked away. Although she was attracted to him, as a female that is. Her image of being higher than anyone made her reject any thought that she could be together with him. She Was clearly considering her own future.
On the other hand Heise couldn't care less. He looked towards once again her while still eating. His eyes were uninterested on what she was doing, or who she was, he was just looking towards her and analyzing her.
[Seems like her talent is pretty good, 55 heavenly layers, it seems that she has been cultivating a bit. Hmmm.. surely grandfather chose her as my fiance because of her talent, but for political reasons as well. I should probably approach and talk to her, but I'm not good with these things. However regaining my memories from that time really seems to have effected my mental ability. I'm able to judge things a lot more calmly, in fact a bit too calmly.] He thought while slowly approaching the group of girls. However while he was going there he was stopped by the sound of trumpets. He quickly looked towards the entrance.
A middle aged man was walking down, his facial features quite similar to his father. A girl could be seen following him from behind. They both had light blue hair, a wild cold aura emanating from their bodies.
" Elder Kori and Princess Lana have arrived on the scene." Announced a guard.
Wuzu's expression instantly turned happy as he rushed towards the duo. Kori was his older son, while Lana was his grandchild. Kori was called an elder thanks to his position in the main clan. In fact Wuzu was a grand elder but he didn't really care about the matters inside the main clan. However this made Lana, Heise and Koken royalty of the clan. They were nominees for the clan patriarch position.
Heise's brows jumped in surprise. He didn't know what was happening but he could guess that they were somehow related. Wuzu signaled to him to come over.
Heise arrived in front of the duo, his eyes instantly focusing on the man called Kori. His face was too similar to his fathers. The man was quite tall, reaching the Height of 2,25. His wide shoulders and chiseled jaw line made him look a lot like an admiral.
On the other Hand the girl called Lana was rather curious. She was looking towards Heise with interest filled eyes. She seemed to be around the age of 10 and quite tall as well. Although people grew fast when it came to Height and hormones, their characters and immaturity was the same. It still took experience for someone to become mature and understand the world around him.

Heise realized that the Maturity he had from his previous world was nothing. He really was re-living his life at this point. The only powerful experience was the abduction.
Heise Bowed and said Hello to both of them. The middle aged man smiled and said " You don't have to be so dense around us, we are family after all".
Heise nodded. He knew the fact, but he couldn't help but be careful. In fact the only reason he even trusted Lei was because of his actions. Lei might be a god or any other higher existence but his character was still childish. This made Heise have the feeling of Honesty coming from him. In fact he could sense that his heart was pure.
On the other hand what he felt from Kori was an unknown feeling. It wasn't bad, evil or even hatred. Rather it was a feeling of love, a feeling you wouldn't expect from someone that he hadn't met before.
" This right here is the older brother of leng, your uncle Kori and his daughter Lana." Said wuzu, a wide smile plastered on his face. He really wasn't expecting for Kori to come. He informed the clan about Heise and his talent, but only to the higher ups, mostly grand elders and the patriarch, since this matter was too important. The attribute to control any ice was just that important.
Heise nodded. Although He was expecting something along those lines, from the similarity between them, he was still surprised. However the matter made him think of his father, which started making him sad, little by little.
It had been months since his death and he had been trying to dodge the fact that he died, he tried to escape the feeling of emptiness inside him.
Revenge started popping up in his head once more, however he suppressed it. He knew that revenge wasn't really a good thing to have on your mind. In fact he knew the difference between him and Lucifer and the other people. He first needed to find the reasons and then slowly build up power.
"so what brought you here?" asked Wuzu. He knew that Kori didn't come here for no reason.
Kori smiled. He understood his father the most. He was a worrying old man that couldn't stop being negative.
"The Patriarch sent me here to pass down an order. The order is as follows : Heise Bing, You shall travel to God city alone through the life train. After your arrival at the clan you will be put on a trail, for you to become one of the selected chosen of the clan. Your arrival should be between 5-6 years!" said Kori.
Although his son was a chosen of the clan as well, he really didn't care. The more talents the better. Also the fact that they were family made the matter easier, he just had to explain to his son not to be too competitive. Although the time period was large, in reality it was expected, it took 5 years to travel to god city by the life train. Yes, 5 years. Even though the life train was fast, the scale of the world was just too massive and God city was on the other side of the world. High level cultivators could traverse these distances easily. The level they were in was dominated mostly by the humanoid factions, which made it easier. Every layer had its own races and living environments. The fights between the layers were intense as well.
Wuzu grinned after hearing the order. He was expecting something like this. However traveling alone all the way up to God city wasn't an easy thing. The only way is to take the life train. However when it came to cultivators like them they could travel that distance in hours. The life train was the method of transport for the mortals, the people that didn't cultivate.
Heise was rather surprised by the announcement. Things had been moving to fast. Apparently he was going to have a 5-6 year trip, even though he was only 6. The world here was totally different from earth.
He already had the matter of his fathers death and having a fiance, but now he had to travel the world at the age of 6?! Is this is beyond normal!
Heise Took a deep breath, He nodded agreeing to the order.
The black earring shone as a mental message appeared.
Heise Bing has accepted the order. he must arrive in god city within 5-6 years, His cultivation must reach 120 layers by that time as well!
it might not seem like it but 120 layers was a lot for the age of 11-12, in fact once someone reached 100 layers the difficulty of doubles, however Heise had a feeling that he would easily exceed that amount.
The mission said that the goal must be completed in 5-6 years, which meant if Heise arrived earlier it would be fine, but he had to meet the 120 layers requirement.
Luo was there and heard the announcement. In fact everyone heard it. Their hearts shook.
"Such a harsh trial! The kid is only 6! The Second strongest clan sure is demanding of its people!" someone said.
a lot of people broke into discussion, agreeing with the persons statement.
Luo was especially shaken, she hadn't even yet interacted with him and he was already living on a huge mission.
Heise scratched his head. This was really too much as a start.
Wuzu and Kori smiled as they knew how hard it was but they had high expectations.
Kori really loved his younger brother, in fact he tried to help him many times, but he was rejected. This made him regretful. Once he learned that he died he was enraged, going into a rampage, Two elders of the clan had to stop him and tell him the news that he had a son. This calmed him down.
And once he learned that Heise had an abnormal talent and an insane Godly body part he was overjoyed, however the sadness of losing his brother was still there.
Although all of them were hurt, the most hurt was Wuzu. His wife had died giving birth to him. had cared deeply for his son. In fact he had poured everything he had on him.
The Banquette ended.
Heise returned to his room, instantly sitting down and ready to enter his inner world, however at that moment he heard a knock on his door.

8 171The Novel's Extra's Extra
As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... Why could someone be born like that? With a void inside, an endless void that slowly consumes oneself... But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same faith of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra... /Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear: 1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good. Thanks to you all who may, or may not, be reading this novel./
