《Black Ice》Chapter 14

Several weeks had past since Heise arrived at the bing clan.
He spent his time training and reading books. Everyday he would wake up and train with Lukas. After that he would study alchemy with John and at the end of the day spend his time in the library with Wuzu.
Returning into a peaceful state of mind, Heise tried to forget about the chaos in his mind. Although he tried to get revenge out of him mind, it was still creeping into his mind.
When it came to Heavenly Arts, Lukas found out that Heise was a true genius when it came to the Ice attribute. His Learning speed with Ice attribute Heavenly arts was too fast. In fact it was so fast that Lukas had reached a point of not knowing what to teach him when it came to Ice attribute Heavenly Arts. Thanks to that Lukas and Wuzu Tried to find the other attributes that Heise had an affinity for.
What really intrested Heise at this period of time was Alchemy. Although it had the basic Theory from Chemistry, it was fundamentaly different. John had all this equipment that Heise didn't know about. Even in earth such equipment didn't exist. It was powered by heavenly energy. The Alchemy that John did reminded Heise of the myth's about alchemist in the 15th century.
Thanks to the existance of Elements Alchemy had become a major part of this world. Taking the Basic elements from a material could create another material.
"Heise grab me a pile of books" Said John.
Heise didn't know what kind of Books John Wanted so he asked "What kind of books?"
"any type." Said John.
After a while Heise brought a pile of books over. John took them and placed them in a box pattern. Heise couldn't understand what was going on. Why did he place them in that way?
John grabbed a bowl a piece of red dust and a rock. He placed Three Crystals inside the bowl and pulverized them, mixing the dust with the red dust. A white glittery powder appeared after the mixing. it shone with a rainbow color, radiating the aura of different elements.
"Uncle John, whats this powder?" asked Heise.
John smiled and said "This is salis mundus, a main ingridient for alchemy. We basically use it for everything, when it comes to equipment that is. Its created by mixing elemental crystals with Red Dust."
After saying that he grabbed the Salis Mundus and sprinkled it on the books. A Weird phenomenon happened, the books merged with eachother, creating a tome. Heise's eye almost popped out from the surprise.
Where did this book come from? Those books were random with almost no way to connect eachother.

"This book contains the basics of Alchemy and the Elements of our world. Anyone can make this book, thanks to the god of knowledge." said John.
Heise learned that Other gods, outside of the main 81 Exist. Apparently they are created through some sort of ascension. He didn't understand the requirments that were needed to be met for someone to ascend and no one could inform him about it. The god of knowledge created many things, such as the universal languege that all the races use. No one knows the identity or race of any god.
Grabbing the book john flipped through it. He found the page he was looking for and turned around to face a cauldron. He grabbed a bunch of crystals and poured them into the boiling water, changing the color of the water into a deep purple. He continued by grabbing several other ingridients and pouring them in the cauldron. After mixing them up he poured the liquid into glass jars and executed an ice element Heavenly Art to cool them off.
Heise was surprised. He didn't know what kind of Potion John had made and it was all too fast for him to understand.
"This liquid is a healing potion, we can make these by mixing Earth element, water element and creation element crystals with a [royal rose] and a core from a Divine Creature." said john with a smile.
Elemental crystals can be found around the planet, mostly underground. They dont have any specific use, other than alchemy. On the other hand the [Royal Rose] is a plant that can be found on the 9th layer of the eather. It has the ability to heal injuries when someone is close to it, but its really slow at it. A healing potion can heal someone in the matter of seconds, which makes full use of the potential of the flower. However they are quite rare to find.
John took the potions and placed them on a cabinet next to other potions.
Although alchemy seemed complicated when it came down it, it really wasn't that hard. The god of knowledge included everything one needed to know about it in his book, but some people took those theories even further, warping their minds in maddness.
"Heise you should be really careful when you are doing alchemy, since after every mix or creation a small amount of flux will polute the area and once that stock piles it could be poison for humans." Said John to Heise.
"What's flux?" Asked Heise.
John smiled at that question. It was a basic factor that every alchemist should know, flux. "Flux is an energy that is released when a chemical reaction doesn't get its full potential. This gas is made by an unknown element and its highly toxic. A large amount of it can cause an infection in the area and can lead into it condencing into a fluid. Thats why we usualy have a cleaning system for it, completely destroying it. However there are some cults out there that utilize this Energy, making them corrupt." said John.

Heise understood the complications of Flux, taking into account not to over do it with alchemy and being careful not to get near it.
Finishing Todays lesson Heise came out and stretched. A small black bird flew by and landed on his shoulder. It was little black. It hadn't grown at all, even though its appetite was getting even bigger. This little guy could eat a days worth of food in a meal and seemed to get even bigger day by day.
And like that time passed by in a flash, days turned into weeks, weeks into months as Heise's awakening day arrived.
Heise was at the library reading through the history of the land. He spent a lot of his time in there, since when it came to Heavenly Arts and Alchemy he had already reached the level of a master, which made both Lukas and John shocked. Heise absorbed all the knowledge like a sponge, without letting anything slip out. They found out one of Heise's elements, a unique Darkness element, that was similar to the Abyss element. Since they had no idea of any techniques of that type of element Heise didn't train in any other element, only ice.
Creating a unique technique for his own elements was required for him to use it, however he needed to be awakened.
As Heise was reading Wuzu came inside the library in a hurry. He looked at Heise and Scolded "Little Brat, i've been looking everywhere for you! you were suppost to be by the gate Half an hour Ago!"
Heise shot up from where he was sitting, shock written on his face. He had completely forgot that today was his awakening day. "Sorry Grandpa!" said Heise with a slightly embarrassed face.
Wuzu sighed and signaled Heise to follow him. Heise Tagged along. They walked down the city. Even though Heise had been in the city for 7 months now, he never exited the Clan Building. They walked for around 20 minutes before they reached a huge structure. The words Life Train could be seen floating in the air. Heise was shocked, he didn't expect for something like this. He read from some books about the existance of the life train. This train traveled everywhere in the current level, finishing in god city. God city was the main place for all the great clans and sects, a place filled with cultivators.
Entering the building, they went downwards to a place filled with people. A sign with the words "Awakening Testing" could be seen. As Heise and Wuzu were walking towards the Testing Area an Elderly person along with a child walked towards them.
Wuzu smiled and said "Long time no see Orvyrun!"
The old man smiled as well waving back and returning the gesture. Coming closer they started a conversation.
"so what are you doing here?" Asked wuzu.
"My Grandson awakened today so i brought him here myself, this is Brygrass" said Orvyrun.
Heise looked at them both, surprised by their appearcane. What was weird about orvyrun and Brygrasse's appearance was the scales on their face and hands. Brygrasse's Hands were black as well which made Heise even more surprised.
"Oh, so you brought your grandson here as well. This is Heise my grandson" said Wuzu.
Orvyrun looked surprised for a moment as he turned around and looked at Heise. He was surprised by His black eyes as he nodded his head in acknowledgement. "well we will be in our way now, i hope your grandson has a great talent like mine, we are lucky to have a Chosen in our Branch this year." said Orvyrun.
"Wow, amazing the Dagon clan is having a chosen this generation, what a great fortune, my congratulations." said Wuzu.
Orvyrun left along with brygrass. Brygrass didn't talk at all, arogance could be seen on his face when he passed by Heise.
"Grandpa, why was their skin like that?" asked Heise.
"Oh, they are dragonoids so their skin is naturaly like that." Said Wuzu.
Heise nodded on that comment. Walking ahead they entered a room filled with runic patterns. A group of people was ready for the awakening as they were waiting for Wuzu and Heise to come. Wuzu nodded towards them. He commanded Heise to remove his clothes and stand in the center of those patterns. Heise nodded as he proceeded removing his clothes and going into the center. He looked around the area with amazement. It reminded him of some kind of evil ritual he would see in horror games.
The room was designated to the bing clan, so all the people inside the room were people from the bing clan. This led to Heise feeling more at home in this place. Wuzu showed some Hand patterns to Heise and told him to repeat them.

It would take a lot to catch up to players with such an enormous head start. Lucky for him, he was a special type of gamer. A SpeedRunner So.... It has been a hot minute. I don't like talking about my personal life, but suffice to say I had some fairly bad times for the last couple of years and have only just recently pulled myself back to good health, physically and mentally. I have a very supportive partner, and am put together enough that I want to get back to doing what I love. Writing nerd fiction that I am too embarassed to try to explain when people inevitably ask what my books are about. Still beats when I used to write erotica. Story updates for book 3 should be on a daily schedule, baring unforseen circumstances. The majority of chapters from books one and two have been pulled down to keep with amazon's KU rules. Book one is found here. Book two is found here. If you like the story, please comment or favorite. Each comment goes a long way towards pushing visibility for the story, which means more people get to see it and I feel slightly more validated as a writer. I have a discord now where you can ask me things and I can be like 'no. no. I'm not answering that. no."
