What!?, Save the city??!

Shocked raven shouted out loud,Yaira also was surprised

“Have you seen the current state of the city”

Kurt asked, his voice trembling in sorrow

“Yes it looks vacant and desolate, a waste land.”

Raven stated with hesitation.

“You’re right, but it wasn't like that before, it all happened a week ago”

“the town was peaceful the children full of life were playing around chasing each, falling down getting injured and crying yet laughing afterwards, the people walking around the town chattering, the bars were bustling with people eating and drinking to their hearts content, the merchant stores had many customers coming in and out, Erude was once like that”

“It was a peaceful day when it happened , strong demon beast’s that normally wouldn’t come close to the town, went rampant and attacked,Erude was peaceful town it was totally unexpected,so the town had very few people that could fight such tough beasts, it was a carnage, people were slaughtered, many innocent children lost their lives or suffered long term injuries, it was utter chaos people in absolute fear running for their lives the ones who fell were trampled and died.The small amount of guards in the town were massacred, the beast weren’t doing this for food as they weren’t eating the corpses, the beast looked different ,they were much fiercer than usual some beast that attacked the town were beast that avoided humans at all cost, yet they came and directly attacked the town time and time again during this week and even now the guards are desperately fighting to protect the town.”

We need your help please!, no more troops of guards are going to arrive from the capital,they have stated that they have sent enough, the town guard won’t be able to contain the constant onslaught for much longer, if the beast break through the last of the guards protecting the city, many lives will be taken needlessly.

“Please I beg you help the town, at least until we discover the reason of the unusual beast behavior” Kurt pleaded pitifully while he was on his knees.

Raven involuntarily let out a sigh, he thought the situation in the town was awful, but he didn’t expect it to be in such a desperate state, he had originally come here only to get better equipment, he wanted to avoid trouble for once, but seeing kurt’s state and Yaira wasn’t going to let him walk away and the old wrinkled merchant had probably already hastily left the town.

“Well you gave us this equipment , I guess we can help”

Raven said a bit reluctantly

“That’s great, you guys really are Stan kids”

Kurt immediately stood up overjoyed

“Okay then lets quickly go meet with the guards at the battle front”

Kurt grabbed a huge axe as his weapon and rushed upstairs, Raven and Yaira were a bit hesitant but they quickly followed the huge bald man.

While scurrying through the town streets, they entered a town segment that was completely in ruins, blood stains scattered all over the place , there were huge claw marks on the buildings, which probably were caused by a very frightening beast.

“We are entering a battlefield, even without a big enough force to contain the beasts we managed to at least push them back, but they kept relentlessly coming back”

Kurt uttered in rage, he had fought and saw countless of his comrades die to protect the town if they couldn’t hold the beast back their death would have been in vain, how would Kurt possibly face them in the afterlife.

The closer they got to the battlefront the more blood they could see all over the place, there were corpses of guards,the stench coming from the bodies suggested they had been there for a couple of days,and maggots were already feasting on the rotten corpses, there were also many severed limbs from beasts and also from humans laying around, Raven was surprised at seeing this horrifying scene but in his eyes one could still see he was calm in contrast Yaira, who had never seen such massacre was feeling repulsed, even though she tried not to show it.

When they finally reached the guards camp, the guard camp was set at the outskirts of the town where there was a forest with enormous trees it was a disadvantage to fight in such a place,at the camp there were various pitched tents, there was a big tent in the middle where the injured were treated, the other’s small tents were where the other guards slept, the guards were all manly sitting down in desolation, most of them had many injuries, there was a medic taking care of the ones that were severely injured , the ones with light injuries were taking care of it themselves.

“Kurt, you finally arrived”

A veteran guard with a white hair and little to no injuries on him said happily.

‘Yes Silvio, I brought some much needed help”

Kurt politely bowed and then pointed towards Raven and Yaira, Raven wasn’t so sure of the chances of success if they had to go against a horde of powerful beasts, Yaira taking a glance at Raven she was worried about what would happen.

“These young’uns? Will help?

The veteran guard laughed loudly in irony

“Yes Silvio “

Kurt replied sharply with seriousness

Silvio noticing that Kurt was serious, smiled faintly

“I will put my trust in you then Kurt”

“What’s the current situation Silvio?”

“We have managed to force them back, but this isn't the end, they are probably coming back with even more numbers”

Silvio who gave off a carefree sensation, now gave off a feeling of solemnity.

That when they heard a thundering marching sounds, as they looked off into the distance they could see a gigantic horde of crazed beast coming through the thick forest towards them.

The guards that were sitting immediately stood up and took their weapons that were already cracked or broken, and prepared for battle.
