When reaching the guild, all of us when in this time instead of just me going in

I mainly went to the quest board as they sat there and waited for me

There were many quests, elimination, escort, transport, making potions, making weapons, search, extraction, and infiltration.

The one quest that looked easy was the elimination of slime which is just outside of the kingdom in the forest was I first spawned

Taking the quest I went to the checkout table once again

“So it seems like you finish the escort quest,” the women at the table said

“Yeah…”

“I hope you got the payment from the escortee”

“Yes I did”

“Wow, that is impressive for someone to do an unknown quest as their first quest as it usually is dangerous for all adventurers as there could be unknown surprises waiting for them”

“There are some rumors going around that some of the quests that were given to us are duds, meaning there are some people making fake requests, this is why we, the guild, try our best to get rid of these duds.” As she handed over the quest paper back to me

“Huh, I didn’t know that” As I take the paper

Slime Elimination

“Anyway, thank you!” as I took my leave meeting up with my party

“This kid sure does have a lot of females in his party” as the women at the checkout table took a look at Yasu with his party

Upon leaving the guild, Kate asked, “What are we doing!”

“What I got is a slime elimination”

Then Kate’s spirits went down and so did everyone except for Kasey since she seemed interested in the slime

“What is so bad about this quest?”

“It is just they… are slimy and some melts your clothes…”

“Are they yummy?” Kasey asked

“I don’t think so” I replied

That made Kasey lose her spirits too

“Man, you know what, I will just try and taken them out myself”

“Alright”

“Yeah, sure, see you back at Mist’s place”

I look at Kasey, who still is clinging on to my arm

“I am still going with you, even if they aren’t food” she looked up at me as I looked back at her

This made me happy that someone is still going with me

“Alright! Let’s go!”

“Go!” she repeated

We then started to go out of the castle and into the forest

*ENCHANTED FOREST [Rec. Lvl 3]*

“Oh boy”

“Ok let's start finding some slimes to kill” as I raised my fist, since I didn’t have a weapon either did Kasey

Meaning that we had to hit things without bare hands and my cloak

Started to look around the area for slimes and saw many monsters that I didn’t see earlier when running the boar…

After a couple of minutes, I found a slime, it was green, had 2 googly eyes floating around its body and a core that is darker than the rest of the body

I started to sneak up on it, then used my cloak’s whip ability which, surprisingly, didn’t work as my movement wasn’t fast enough to go through its slime body and hit its core, instead, it went halfway and my cloak just floated there

As I pulled my cloak out, it felt like I was pulling a concrete block as the slime added weight to my cloak, which made it heavier

Taking off my cloak, I realized Kasey wasn’t clinging to my arm anymore

Instead, I see her behind another slime and jumping at hit and assassinating it, instantly kill it

“Man 19 slimes to go?!”

“I look at Kasey where she is, but she went back to cling my arm”

“I guess she stops clinging on to me once she gets the perfect chance to assassinate.”

“I could use the combustion move on my cloak, but not only will it hurt me and the enemy it may also hurt Kasey as she clings on to me every time”

While I was thinking the slime, that I didn’t kill earlier jumped on me and it was heavy

As it probably broke some of my ribs due to its height

As it slowly starts to consume me I had no choice, but to use combustion

As the cloak light up and blow up, it literally exploded

The force of the explosion was so strong that it completely stripped the slime off of its core and breaking it

Realizing that Kasey was clinging to me I looked for her

Apparently she wasn’t injured in the blast, as the combustion only injuries the enemy and user

“So I lose 50 HP, 25 MP, and 30 NRG, meaning that I can use this up to 2 times, so using this for emergencies would probably be a good idea.”

I then started to walk to the remains of what was left of the slime, as I only saw 1 or 2 blobs of slime and a shard of the core

I only took the core as I didn’t have anything to contain the small blobs of slime

“Maybe I should get containers for the blobs next time I find some slimes to kill”

“We should call it a day”

Fun how I say that when we only just killed 2 slimes

“I wonder if there is a time limit to these quests?”

“Yes…” Kasey replied

“I’m hungry”

“Alright let’s go back”

Taking the 2 shards with me I headed back to the castle and entering it I saw Kate and Claire lazing around

“I’m back” as ignored their laziness

“How is the extermination coming along?”

“Better yet how were fight the slimes like for you,” Kate asked

“It was hard to hit them in their core as my attacks aren’t fast enough to cut through and make it to the core cleanly”

“Though we manage to get 2 shards”

“Wait, so you’re telling me that nothing happened to you and Kasey”

“Besides, me getting crushed and damaged all over, then I am fine.”

Kate and Claire exchanged looks

“I guess they must be safe, right?” Kate asked anxiously

“I think so” Claire replied

“Alright then, how about we all go together this time and finish this quest quickly?”

Hesitating, both Claire and Kate responded, “ok…”

The Next Day

“Alright let's get going!”

“Yeah!” as Kate, Claire, and Kasey all responded with a little more determination then last time

Entering the enchanted forest, we were fortunate to find a group of small slimes

“That’s funny, slimes usually come in groups of 3 and not 5,” said Claire

“Maybe it is just that they happened to meet each other?”

“Maybe”

“Anyway let's take them out,” I said

And with that, we quickly got into positions and quickly got rid of the group of slimes, though I didn’t do much as I didn’t have any tactics to

Claire used her charm to stop 2 slimes in their tracks as they were attracted to her

Kate, on the other hand, quickly got one and helped Claire get rid of 2, with the quick use of her knife

“She is surprisingly good with a knife, despite being a healer”

And lastly, Kasey assassinated both slimes at the same time, a double takedown

“Know that I realize what does Kasey use to kill the slime… her hands?”

“No problem, you were practically useless for this mission anyway,” Claire said

Those words pierced me, even though I wanted to defend myself, there was nothing to defend against as it was very true

“OH, the pain!”

We continued walking and wandering around for slimes when we did we...well they, made light work of it and at the end, I would be the one collecting the drops

Still having no containers, we left the blobs alone

“Finally! We finished” Kate said as she was stretching out her limbs

“So what did we get out of the slimes,” Claire asked

“Let’s see” as I took out the bag, which was supposed to hold coins, but used it as a small inventory as I had no backpack and I didn’t like the feeling of shards poking my sides in my pockets

“We got… 15 shards and 5 cores”

“Nice!” Kate said

“Let’s quickly head back and cash these in and confirm the completion of the quest!”

Once we reached the guild, we were met with a muscular man instead of the lovely women at the checkout table

“What can I do for you,” he said in his deep voice

“I would like to confirm the completion of the quest”

“Alright then, can you give me the proof”

I then dropped out all of the shards and cores that we collected during the extermination

“Here you go” as he handed over a tray of coins

“The pay for the completion of the quest as well as the items are all in here and divided amongst the 4 of you”

“Thank you” as I took the money and made my leave

“Ok then”

“So we each get 25 copper coins and the extra will be given to Yasu” as Claire gave me the extra 1 silver bit”

“What why are you giving the extra money to me, even though I didn’t do anything, but collect the drops”

“Well, I think you could use the extra cash to buy a weapon for yourself” Kate replied

“Yeah” Claire added

“Alright then, so where is the nearest weapon shop”

Kate and Claire look at me funny as Kasey was busy clinging to me

“What did I say wrong?”

“So you're telling me that you have been around and about having nothing on hand?!” Kate surprised

“Oh... yeah?”

“Oh my goodness, then we need you to go there now” as Kate grabs my free arm and quickly runs to where I think is the weapon shop with Kasey still clinging on to my other arm

“I will meet you back at the castle, Claire” Kate shouts

“Alright” she shouts back

“Why didn’t I take Yasu to go to the shop first” Claire murmurs as she makes her way back to the castle

We then arrived at a weapon shop, with me being uneasy as I have never been pulled to somewhere so fast in my life

After I recovered, I went into the shop with Kate and there I saw many weapons from which I didn’t even know

“Did you find anything of interest yet, boy” as I heard a voice

I looked to where the direction of the voice came from and there I saw a short person with a dirty outfit

“No, not yet” I replied

“Tell me if you need anything”

“Ok!” as Kate replied for me

“Hey, hey,” Kate said quickly

“How about this one” as she showed me a sword

“What kind of sword is that?”

“It is an enchanted sword that has been enchanted with the attribute of fire”

Hearing the word “enchanted”, I asked, “How much does it cost?”

“20 gold coins” she replied without a sense that we are poor

“Are you stupid?! Do you think we can afford this kind of sword?!”

“Oops sorry, teehee”

“Oh my god” as I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration

Then I felt a tug on my clothes and there I saw Kasey tugging my sleeve and pointing at a dagger

“Do you want it?”

Kasey nods

“Let's see how much it costs” and there I saw the price tag of the dagger, 1 platinum.

About to yell at Kasey, I see her innocent face as she was about to cry

Holding back my anger, I said in frustration, “Why do girls like and want just expensive things”

I then signed and looked up, not all the way up but tilted enough to see the very top shelf of weapons

And there I saw my chosen weapon
