《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 372 - The Cool Red Queen

"Roll!" The Red Queen ordered…
Zil and Lara immediately followed the instruction, rolling across the street just in time to avoid severe injury from an explosion…
---BBBBOOOOOOOMMM---
Previously, the soldiers inside the buildings avoided using explosives, but clearly, they no longer had those restraints…
Lara snatched Zil out of the air as the explosion tossed them away…
It was an instinctive reaction, and it turned out to be the correct reaction…
Zil's physique, though trained beyond humans, was nowhere near as formidable as Lara's…
Lara hugged Zil carefully as they were smashed into the street, and then into a car…
The pain was intense, but nowhere near as painful as it should have been…
As soon as they came to a stop, Lara clutched the rope-dagger from her waist, and tossed it through the blindingly thick smoke, penetrating the chest of a soldier on the opposite side…
The Draconic Energy in her body had concentrated into her eyes, allowing her slitted eyes to see the vague outline of everything weaker than her…
Lara tugged the dagger back, and leaped into the air, performing two spins that also made her dagger-rope spiral…
Two more soldiers were slashed by that simple movement…
Still, Lara had intentionally withheld from killing the soldiers…
At most, the soldiers suffered large gashes…
Other than when she was absolutely forced to kill on the island, Lara had never taken a life in cold blood…
Now that she knew that Zeel didn't die by her hand, that meant she had never killed someone defenseless, period…
Shaking her disorientation away, Zil inspected the watch on her wrist, confirming the coordinates for the thousandth time…
"We can't get there like this…" She mumbled, realizing that they needed transport…
"I can't hold these guys forever…" Lara shouted, twirling to send her dagger-rope cleaving through the smoke at blinding speeds…
"Smash the Centaur Sculpture against a car…" The Red Queen advised, a bit of desperation in her voice…
As a Sentient connected to all things, she could see more than the soldiers Lara was battling… she could see the thousands of soldiers about to arrive in London City…
Humans, in The Red Queen's eyes, were ants, but enough ants could bite an elephant to death…
Zil, having absolute trust in The Red Queen, snatched the Centaur Sculpture from Lara, and smashed it on the nearest car…

Due to the explosion, the car was in the worst condition possible, but The Red Queen said to smash it against a car… she never said the car had to be in working condition…
'I can't be blamed for this…' Zil mused internally…
A couple of seconds later, cyber-lines spread on the car as it morphed from its previous shape into a futuristic chariot…
The chariot had several centaurs attached to the reins…
Seeing the surprised look on Zil's and Lara's faces, The Red Queen felt a bit smug "Zeel always leaves assets behind in case he returns to the same Universes…"
"Shotgun…" Lara squealed, but Zil was already in the driver's seat before she could even protest…
Without any other options, Lara hopped into the passenger's seat, and snapped her seatbelt into place, not daring to be neglectful when someone related to Zeel was about to drive…
---WHOOOOOSH---
The loud sound of helicopters drowned London City…
Lara glanced out the window, and her Draconic Eyes could see the dozens of mercenaries inside the helicopters, performing the final checks on their machine guns…
"We need to go…" Lara urged…
Zil shrugged "I don't know how to drive this…" she admitted…
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
Even before the helicopter arrived, the mercenaries started to rain bullets as soon as they were a couple of blocks away…
Obviously, they didn't care about subtlety or the innocent lives that would become collateral damage…
It pained Lara's heart to think about the number of people dying, but all she could do was draw the mercenaries away from populated areas…
Just as Lara was about to make a run for it, drawing the fire towards herself, The Red Queen hopped out of Zil's watch, and jumped into the chariot's console…
---BOOOOOM---
The chariot accelerated, leaving behind thunder and dust…
Zil and Lara felt their stomachs churn with the sudden departure, but thanks to their physiques, they were quick to recover…
"I wanted to drive…" Zil admitted, feeling a bit down…
"Alice would never let you drive…" The Red Queen comforted, knowing that Zil was somewhat lacking in the common-sense department…
---BOOOOOM---
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
The chariot swerved left and right to avoid the bullets and explosions from the chasing cars and helicopters…
"We need something to fight back…" Lara growled angrily, not liking the fact that her new ride was being damaged…

She rummaged through the many pockets in the floor of the chariot, and eventually, her hands gripped firmly around a cyber-rifle…
"Cyber-rifle shoots energy pulses that disrupt energy waves, but it is very targeted so the margin of error is two inches…" The Red Queen explained, but Lara could care less…
Lara had already removed her seatbelt, straddling herself outside the window as she took aim at the first helicopter in her sight…
---PEW---
Lara shot and the helicopter swerved, but she could see the head of a mercenary inside the helicopter popping like a sausage inside a microwave…
Killing someone made her a bit sick to the stomach, so The Red Queen quickly adjusted the weapon to nonlethal, allowing Lara to target only individual body parts…
While Lara was busy popping legs, several motorcycles sped next to the chariot…
Zil slid through an opening in the chariot, and thrust her katana into the wheel of one motorcycle…
As the motorcycle flipped in the air, Zil's perception of the world slowed, and she sliced the rider in half…
Blood splashed onto the visor of other riders, and a cascading event occurred, causing three motorcycles to bang into each other…
Zil's muscles pained her a little since she had pushed her body a bit beyond her limits…
Zil settled back into the chariot, but she was instantly greeted by another problem…
This time, the problem was from ahead and not behind…
"Lara…" Zil tapped Lara on the hips, hoping for a second opinion "There is something ahead…"
Lara re-entered the chariot and squinted her eyes ahead… a massive cargo truck was blocking their advance…
The truck was curled in a position that ensured that there was no way to divert from the established route…
"I'll solve this matter…" The Red Queen insisted, and before Zil and Lara could protest, their bodies became weightless as they were shot into the air…
The Red Queen maneuvered the chariot to toss both women over the truck, and then, she used the little ability she had as a sentient to shift the technological structure of the chariot…
As a Sentient, The Red Queen had evolved from an AI to a being with consciousness, and due to her time with Zeel, The Red Queen had developed an uncanny ability to manipulate the structure of human-made tech…
The Chariot flattened, easily gliding under the truck…
The sight was surreal… a massive chariot flattening to the point of a thin paper, sliding under the truck…
The moment the truck was cleared, the Chariot reformed, and The Red Queen maneuvered the vehicle to catch the dazed Lara and Zil…
---ZZZOOOOOOOOMMM---
Zil and Lara couldn't even process what happened after the fact because, with loud neighs from the Centaurs, the Chariot accelerated into record-breaking speeds…
Still, due to the many twists and turns required to get out of London, the helicopters, and vehicles were still hot on the chariot's trail…
Of course, The Red Queen considered an escape by air, but that was impossible since it would make for easier satellite targeting…
While she could block most satellite signals, The Red Queen had no confidence that she could block them all…
Especially, not while using the processing power of a watch…
---WHEW---
---WHEW---
Soon, the blaring noise of sirens signaled that the police had also joined the fray…
Media Choppers sped across the air, recording the chase, and broadcasting the event all over the world…
This was no longer a chase of life and death, it had become a circus…
With the police joining the fray, the mercenaries became more desperate…
From her position in the chariot, Zil caught a glimpse of the motorcycles rapidly approaching from behind…
"Annoying…" She cursed, and finally decided to solve the hindrances permanently…
Zil's body pulsed with red energy as she released the restrictions on her ESPER ability…
Leaping out of the car, the red energy gathered and became concentrated, until…
At the peak of Zil's jump, she spun twice in the air and shot down, onto the hood of a nearby police car…
Much like Elizabeth, Zil's ability could take appear as a multitude of colors, but while Elizabeth's ability was infinite, Zil's ability could only affect emotions…
A pulse of burning red rage infected everything nearby…
The moment the energy was expelled, Zil leaped twenty feet forward, back into the chariot…
Every vehicle caught in the wake of the red energy started smashing into each other as the drivers lost all trace of rationality…
All they felt was the unbridled rage as they smashed their cars into each other…

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
