《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 359 - Beck and Call

Earlier in Purgatory
One moment Aurolana was in Zeel's body, fending off an impossible explosion, and the next moment she was shot back into her body across multiple dimensions.
Aurolana stumbled and fell to the ground, clutching her head in pain and shaking from the experience of housing a Homo-Superior's consciousness, especially one as dense as Zeel's.
Her only consolation was the fact that Zeel was not having things much easier since an Apollonian's graceful thoughts had also caused damage to his brain.
---DING---
Aurolana barely managed to open her eyes just in time to catch Aurora's attack, and Gabriella's subsequence defense.
Gabriella had finally chosen a side now that Zeel had made an appearance.
Actually, Aurolana wasn't even sure if she wanted Gabriella on her side since the psychotic girl was way too unpredictable.
A normal day for Gabriella was shoving an Elephant up a Dog's butt and calling it a 'reverse-birth'…
Aurolana knew this because Gabriella often bragged about such exploits whenever she came to Purgatory.
It took a couple more seconds for Aurolana to re-adjust to the rapid shift of events.
She didn't expect the Mind Flower to last forever, but the duration was way too short to achieve anything meaningful.
Aurora was still alive, and Aurolana didn't have the strength to continue a battle against a sister who once meant the world to her.
"Please stop!" She pleaded, but Aurora wanted to hear none of it.
Aurora was blinded by rage – a well-deserved rage considering the love of her life had tried to kill her without even blinking.
Aurora was attacking like a rabid animal, not caring for her own safety as long as she took a chunk out of Gabriella.
Luckily, Gabriella was not someone to back down from a battle, no matter how brutal.
The crazy smile on Gabriella's face only grew wider the more ferociously Aurora attacked...
Aurolana was focused on Zeel's side of the battle as Gabriella and Aurora fought to the death…
Even now, she could feel Zeel's frustration as if it was eating her from the inside, and not in a sexual way…
It was as if Zeel was waiting for something to happen… something she couldn't quite discern regardless of their soulmate connection.
However, Aurolana could sense that Zeel was warning her to be careful about the help that would soon arrive.
The lines between soulmates had been blurred by their switching of bodies…

Aurolana found it difficult to discern where Zeel began and where he ended…
It made it difficult to guess if Zeel was sending her a message or if she was the one talking to herself.
In the midst of her self-crisis, Aurolana noticed that Aurora was quickly losing her patience.
"ENOUGH!" Aurora shouted, flooding what was left of Purgatory in a dense amount of Frost Energy.
Aurora even overtaxed the Multiversal Lake necklace to put a decisive halt to the battle.
Everything in Purgatory froze…
Gabriella flashed to Aurolana's side, hoping for a retreat but her response came too late… both her and Aurolana were frozen like ice statues before they could even move an inch.
"So it ends…" Aurora whispered, calmly walking in Aurolana's and Gabriella's direction "Are you scared like I was? Are you sad like I was?"
Aurora's wings grew and multiplied until their pink brilliance covered half of Purgatory…
The sharp feathers of her wings all pointed in one direction – Aurolana's direction…
"Do you regret it?" Aurora asked, expecting an answer this time…
"Everyday…" Aurolana replied, genuinely regretful "But Zeel is my soulmate so it's only recently that these feelings have come flooding back to me…"
"Will you blame Zeel even at the end?" Aurora asked nonchalantly "When you looked at him from Purgatory… did you see the way he treated me? The pain when he made love to me… the way he fucked with my mind like a toy? The way he would pluck the feathers from my wings and compare them to yours? Calling my wings less beautiful?"
"I saw it all…" Aurolana admitted.
"Then why?" Aurora questioned, tears leaking from her eyes "Why didn't you help me? I couldn't find you in Heaven or Hell… but I always knew you had not gone to Oblivion… why stay away? Why have him do all those things to me?"
"Because…Because…" Aurolana sighed and decided to tell the truth "Because even a Homo-Superior could not keep an Apollonian against her will… why did I never help you? Because you could only help someone who wants to be helped…"
"You're saying this is my fault?" Aurora shouted angrily.
"Even I'm crazy and I know the answer is YES…" Gabriella muttered, wondering if she would die today or tomorrow given the long conversation Aurolana and Aurora were having "Can I eat something if you sisters are gonna take this long?"

"Shut the fuck u-" Aurolana and Aurora blurted unconsciously, but the words were stuck in their throats the next moment.
"Oh fuck me sideways…" Gabriella whispered, a brief flicker of terror on her face as she stepped away from the conspicuous Aurolana and Aurora.
The atmosphere changed, becoming so light that everyone could feel their souls ready to float away from their bodies.
Usually, terror would weigh down heavily on the shoulders, but this weightlessness was a level beyond terror.
Aurolana and Aurora were confused but Gabriella knew exactly what was happening… after all, she had experienced this phenomenon before…
Gabriella was clinically insane in every way, but the moment she felt the incoming presence, she was scared into sanity for a couple of seconds.
A Beam of multi-colored light descended from the skies of Purgatory, obscuring everything in its colorful brilliance.
Nobody could tell who had made an abrupt entrance but given the Cosmic Wormhole that appeared, it wasn't hard to guess that his person was likely related to Zeel.
After all, Zeel was the only person that traveled the Multiverse using Cosmic Wormholes.
The colorful lights disappeared, revealing a girl that rivaled the beauty of an Apollonian…
The faintly visible Cyber-Lines under her skin told Aurora and Aurolana that this girl had Homo-Superior Origins.
"I thought all the Homo-Superiors died…" Aurora voiced, eyeing the girl suspiciously.
"And I thought my brother was finished playing with Apollonian whores…" the girl replied, flashing a knowing smile in Gabriella's direction "You seem sane since I last saw you, Gabriella…"
Gabriella's mind shut down, but her body instinctively moved behind Aurolana for protection…
Even if she was ten times more crazy, she wouldn't dare confront the demon that was Catherine Crawford…
Seeing that no one was willing to talk, Catherine decided to focus on the crux of the matter "Where is my brother?"
"Her brother?" Aurora questioned since she had never met one of Zeel's family members before now.
"Zeel Crawford…" Aurolana replied, though she never met Catherine herself, the memories shared with Zeel told her all she required "And Catherine Crawford is a very obsessed sister…"
Catherine's eyes flashed, codes flickered across her pupil, and the cyber-lines embedded in Aurolana's wings pulsed for a second, sending all the information Aurolana knew to Catherine…
Within a nanosecond, Catherine knew as much as Aurolana about Zeel's situation and his current location… she knew about Elizabeth, Alice, what they had been through, and how Zeel now had emotions.
Catherine also understood that Aurora came to kill Aurolana, and Gabriella was just along for the ride…
"Useless little whores that love my brother…." Catherine snorted, gagging a bit as if the mere words disgusted her to no end.
Aurolana sensed Catherine's Cyber-Lines infecting Purgatory like a virus…
"You kill me, and you kill Zeel…" Aurolana shouted, hoping Catherine wouldn't commit any hasty actions.
"Zeel brought me here to save your life and kill your sister… Gabriella is just a side-kill because of her unpredictability…" Catherine played with the Mbeamer on her wrist, not minding the subtle movements of the girls in front of her "But I want to send a message to my brother… He should refrain from adding any more whores into his little collection of specimens… the way I send that message is by killing his potential whores here…"
Gabriella created her strongest portal yet, piercing through several Universes to escape…
Aurora's wings burned as she exerted every ounce of strength in her body to get away…
Aurolana expelled all her 'Nothingness' from every pore of her body, creating a void detached from all of existence…
Alas, this was Catherine Crawford they were dealing with – a girl who not only rivaled Zeel in cruelty but outright trumped him in Homo-Superior Technology Utilization…
-----------TTTTTTTWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPP!-----------------
Instantaneously, everything near Catherine was reduced to dust, drained of energy by her Mbeamer…
A cosmic wormhole was manifested and Catherine was gone before she could witness the fates of Aurora, Aurolana, and Gabriella…
Her intention was never to kill the girls…
Catherine was merely sending a message to her brother – she refused to be at his beck and call any longer…
----------------
Zeel removed his nanite-outlined hand from Aurolana's head…
This was not his regenerated arm, but something closer to a roughly mechanized arm…
Everything that had happened was now clear to him, including the fact that he could no longer depend on Catherine for anything…
"I wonder what made her change so much…" He murmured, admiring the changes she had undergone even though it made his life more difficult.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
