《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 343 - The Terrifying Marina

After determining what legacies they would be allowed to use in the battle, the group drifted to varying sections of the stadium's battlefield.
The entire stadium was made of circular, miniature building blocks that would switch positions every couple of seconds.
When everyone was in position, the stadium shifted once more into an entirely flat area. You could see from one end to the next end, and that wasn't particularly ideal for battle.
Still, John let it be since it meant Sam wanted to battle to be resolved relatively quickly.
"Ready?" Sam asked with a cheerful voice, earning a huge 'hurrah' from the crowd "Set…" he added, gaining another 'hurrah' as everyone charged up their respective legacies.
Sam moved his fingers rapidly as if typing in the air, causing several circular blocks that made up the stadium to wrap around his body like armor.
Sam's control of tech was nowhere near Zeel's but John had to admire Sam's ability when he considered the fact that Sam had his legacies for a lot less time than anyone else.
Sarah raised both hands as two miniature storms appeared directly above her location using her Struma legacy.
Though the storms seemed small, everyone knew that it was simply condensed and hence several times more powerful.
Unlike everyone else who was preparing to attack, Henri utilized his force fields efficiently by sticking to their natural element of defense.
The air around Henri deformed as several force fields continually overlapped at his position.
The force fields around Henri were not only strong but also numerous, which made for a deadly combination.
Lexa could be seen in an inconspicuous corner of the stadium, shaking her hands back and forth at nearly imperceptible speeds as she tossed a layer of ice between her fingers, condensing the ice beyond absolute zero.
Ella knelt on the ground, using both her hands to concentrate an antigravity wave into the ground with great difficulty.
Her face scrounged up in pain as the antigravity wave grew beyond her control, but she still persisted and waited for Sam to declare the start of the battle.
It didn't help that antigravity was amongst her least used legacies.
While everyone else was charging for attack or defense, Marina was simply staring at the ground, counting the number of steps she would take in every direction as she skipped from along the stadium unhindered.
Marina had always been a carefree spirit so nobody paid her any mind.
Vishnu, who had little experience with object manipulation, decided to go all or nothing.

He retrieved several Loralite crystals from his pockets and urged his object manipulation to run the energy inside the crystals amok.
What he couldn't do with Object Manipulation due to his unfamiliarity, he would make up for it by destabilizing the energy within Loralite and going for a massive explosion.
Everyone with half a brain knew that destabilizing Loralite energy was a quick suicide route.
Despite everyone's thorough preparations, Cindy had not only gotten her favorite legacy, but she was also the person most attuned to destruction amongst The New Elders.
Cindy closed her eyes for a couple of seconds and tuned her breathing to the natural frequency of the stadium.
When her eyes reopened, each heartbeat in Cindy's chest caused the entire stadium to vibrate as she prepared to discharge a massive surge of seismic energy.
From what John and the others could judge, the amount of seismic energy Cindy was gathering would be the continent-ending amount.
Seeing that everyone was prepared to their worse, Sam gulped, took a deep breath, and made the hands of his armor turn into cannons pulsing with supercharged particles.
"GGGOOOOO!" Sam yelled.
The moment his job as the referee was completed, Sam shot the cannon of supercharged particles towards the center of the stadium.
He was hoping to create an explosion large enough to knock everyone back aside from himself, but sadly, all the others had a similar idea as well.
Sarah concentrated two storm clouds with all the water molecules they could contain, and quickly added some lightning to the mix as she tossed both clouds forward on a collision trajectory with each other.
Obviously, Sarah was intending to create the greatest thunder in the history of thunders. The clouds expanded and rumbled as they darted towards the center of the battlefield.
Witnessing the attacks that would no doubt create a larger explosion than he initially prepared for, Henri reinforced all his barriers to the point that it was almost as if he was in another dimension entirely.
Lexa pressed the small ball of ice in her hands against the ground, causing the stadium's very composition to freeze as the battlefield ceased to vibrate.
Everything in nature would vibrate, no matter how imperceptibly, but Cindy had managed to alter that phenomenon.
The ice traveled forward with an impossible speed to meet the attacks of the others.
Ella smirked since she was confident that her intelligence had already won her the battle.
Using the antigravity wave she buried beneath the battlefield, Ella twisted her hands perpendicular as if turning a key in the ground.

There was a brief rumble and then everyone in the stadium realized that the ground was above them and the sky was now below their feet.
Ella had reversed the gravity of the entire area, sending all attacks in reverse, back towards their owners.
Vishnu didn't care about his attack missing because his main legacy was always teleportation, which granted him a heightened sense of spatial awareness.
When he tossed the destabilized Loralite crystals forward at mock 10, Vishnu had no doubt that it would reach his intended target.
Cindy glanced at Ella's smug face and made a smug face of her own.
The largest surge of energy everyone had ever felt vibrated through the stadium's battlefield, shaking the entire stadium into the proper orientation, blasting away Ella's antigravity storm.
Still, Cindy's attack was so powerful that it continued forward even after rendering Ella's attack null and void.
Everyone in the audience could feel terror at the mere strength of Cindy's attack, but none of The New Elders panicked.
They just waited for a clear victor to be determined as their attacks neared the center of the stadium.
However, just as the attacks were about to impact for a grand explosion that would rival nuclear bombs, John did something that finally terrified The New Elders.
John didn't work hard or charge his attack like everyone else, he merely targeted the moment before everyone's attack was about to collide and flashed a bright lumen that strengthened everyone's attacks tenfold.
--BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM--
--BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM--
--BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM--
--BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM—
There was the loud sound of thunder, and particle collisions, followed by the explosion of countless Loralite crystals.
Gravity felt void for a couple of seconds as the stadium shook from an Earthquake that quickly disappeared as everything in sight was frozen to stillness.
A mega shockwave was generated that ripped apart Sam's armor, tossing him out of the stadium like a ragdoll.
Sarah was also blasted away, passing out mid-air as the shockwave impacted her weak human physique.
Henri was just barely knocked out of the stadium as his force-fields shattered one by one.
The frozen stadium ground beneath Lexa's feet shattered, causing her to fall through the floor without the strength to retaliate.
Ella felt disoriented as a large number of antigravity waves sent her spiraling through the air in a confusing manner… sometimes floating, sometimes falling, sometimes falling upwards in the air…
She passed out from vertigo almost immediately.
Vishnu used his teleportation to avoid the blast on instinct and disqualified himself from a chance at victory.
Cindy's stomp that created seismic waves also made the stadium beneath her feet shatter like glass, causing her to fall through the stadium floor similar to Lexa.
John dug his feet into the ground with all his might, utilizing every muscle of his abnormal Lorien physique to stop his body a few inches from the end of the stadium.
Long drag marks could be seen as John left a trail in the solid metal of the stadium's battlefield.
In the end, John smiled happily that his gamble had paid off…
Since nobody was allowed to use body strengthening legacies, John gambled that he would be the last person standing in the case of a grand explosion due to his physique being at least ten times the strength of everyone else's.
"YAAAAAAHHHH!" John closed his eyes, raised his fists into the air, screaming a victory cry so his children in the benches could see their father was victorious.
However, a couple of seconds passed without reply causing John to wonder why nobody was cheering for his grand victory.
John opened his eyes when he felt a smooth finger tap against his forehead, causing him to stumble backward just enough that he was outside the parameters of the stadium's battlefield.
Seeing that John was already at the edge, Marina simply tapped her finger against his head, applying a little strength to push him out of bounds.
While everyone else was preparing some fancy attack, defense, or brilliant strategy, Marina simply used her precognition to plot a route through areas that would be least affected by the explosion.
When all was said and done, all she had to do was give John a little push to claim victory for herself.
Everyone in the stadium bleachers looked at Marina terrified as she directed a smirk in their direction.
"I win!" She declared proudly.
--WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH--
Everyone in the stadium cheered at the unexpected turn of events.
Needless to say, they all recognized that Marina was the most terrifying of all The New Elders.

Short Stories
So these are just a few, very short, stories that I just had to write. They tend to focus on different things, as and when they come to me. They'll most likely be fantasy, and not very long. At all. Honestly, I'm putting them up here so they don't just sit on my hard drive. Kind of sad to think of imagination unshared. Edit: If you could provide some feedback on what you read, I would appreciate it. I do just post these here, and will continue (as and when) to do so.Thank you.

Glass Cannon
Mortal Coil is the best VRMMO in the market with millions of people playing it! In this game, two best friends made a bet with each other. Whoever becomes the #1 ranked would win. Such a simple bet, but to them, it was like a declaration of war. Being two of the most stubborn individuals on the planet that saw loss as a personal offense, they made this last bet before cutting off their friendship due to some... complicated matters(Don't worry It'll get explained in the book). The problem was, that one was super talented at the game, and the other was super shit. This story revolves around that player. No, not the talented one, the shit one. Hated by many for his rather "uncouth" strategies (one of which included hitting a guy in the back of the head with a wooden board, stealing all his stuff and leaving him stark naked in the middle of the woods), his name is Jack. Oh, and did I mention he's a min-Maxed for health which drives people insane? Unfortunately, as luck would have it, he stumbles upon the worst possible hidden class for him. Warrior of Glass. A class with insanely high attack power... and insanely low HP. He's also given a quest to retrieve a sword in the middle of the Ashen Forest (lovingly nicknamed "Suicide Woods" by the players) and another quest to kill 7 insanely powerful demon lords that roam the lands so he can fulfill his predecessor's legacy. Now, armed only with a veeery high damage output, an unbendable will of steel and his almost nonexistent sense of guilt (emphasis on almost), he still aims to become the #1 player. This time, with some serious handicaps.
