《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 309 - Into A Ball

Zeel blazed a path through the forest towards Simpson and Nick. He made sure to only use his transparent lightning to enhance his speed without entering any Time-Zones.
Grabbing Nick and Simpson while in a different Time-Zone would probably end up with Simpson breaking an arm at least.
The pulsing of the lightning trickling through his new Divine-Veins gave Zeel's running experience a new sensation.
First, when he used to run, everything was slowed but Zeel could still feel the world resisting him somewhat, pushing him away from the slow world around him…
But now, he felt motions of pulling that dragged him deeper and deeper into the speed instead of pushing him away.
The feeling was like a natural flow, but instead of running against it, this time he was riding the flow and could even guide the flow to a certain extent.
It was the difference between a willing participant and a forceful entry.
Luckily, A God of Speed was fast enough without entering a pseudo-plane of existence to increase his speed.
Zeel could feel Ahmanet darting through the forest some ways behind him, but it didn't matter since he much faster.
Zeel leaped into the air, twisting his body while doing several flips as if seeking the correct position to do something.
Zeel was uncertain of why he needed to orient himself in the air, but it felt uncomfortable to warp without first feeling an internal sensation of equilibrium.
[Warp]
The air twisted and pulsed with blue energy that quickly engulfed Zeel. The next moment he was sliding down a thick forest tree the exact moment his feet were vertically oriented in the air.
Previously when he warped, Zeel had to conduct thousands of calculations in a moment, but now it was almost as if everything came without any thoughts.
Now when he warped, Zeel had the faint sensation of the proper coordination he required to stick a perfect landing.
Even before he had warped, Zeel could sense the feeling of wood under his feet, the gravity that shifted along with his warp, and even the world tilting to compensate his warps.
He instinctively knew that his feet had to be vertical and everything else fell into place the moment he warped.
But it seemed his execution was not yet perfected.
Transparent Lightning flickered the moment Zeel exited his warp and the huge forest tree beneath his feet fractured and burst into splinters.
[Early Time-Zone]
The world slowed around Zeel for a nanosecond and he flipped through the air and landed on the ground, making sure to disperse his momentum into the Earth through the soles of his feet.

Nick and Simpson jumped backward, the ground cracked beneath Zeel's feet as he stuck the landing.
All they saw was a distortion in space, a flicker of transparent lightning, and Zeel was standing in front of them looking just the same as he always did – cold eyes, healthy skin, and a smug face that just made you want to punch it.
"Come on!" Zeel commanded causing Nick's and Sampson's bodies to automatically drift in his direction.
Zeel was using his true-voice or God-Voice, which was the same as his normal voice just with a certain mystical persuasion to it.
The moment Nick and Sampson were close enough, Zeel grabbed both their hands and attempted to warp them away, but only transparent sparks danced in the air.
The more Zeel tried to warp them away, the smaller the sparks became and Zeel could swear he heard a sound of 'whaaaaw – whawww- whawwwwww'.
"Performance issues?" Nick asked after recovering from his daze of hearing Zeel's true-voice.
Zeel noticed that Nick was still unsteady but not to the point of freaking out as yet. Zeel thought about Jenny and was sure that help would arrive within a couple of minutes at most.
Despite his pride, Zeel would appreciate Henry's help since Henry had numerous artifacts and thousands of years of history.
"This usually works," Zeel replied, forcing more Divine-Energy through his body to warp the three of them to safety.
"Obviously it's not working right now," Nick stated as Zeel grew more restless since he could sense Ahmanet's presence rapidly closing in.
"It usually works unless…" Zeel paused as if coming to a realization and then stared at Nick "Unless someone doesn't want to leave… after all, I am not powerful enough to kidnap someone yet,"
Simpson also reached the same realization as both he and Zeel glanced at Nick suspiciously. Wasn't it Nick leading him to the location of the battle? Was Nick in cahoots with Ahmanet?
Feeling the suspicious glances being directed his way, Nick felt offended and a slight prickling sensation at the back of his mind saying 'stall them!'
"It worked fine when we were on the plane and earlier when you sent us away from the battle," Nick said, staring at Zeel as if challenging him to say otherwise.
Simpson's opinion also shifted and he was back to thinking that Zeel was having performance issues.
Zeel rolled his eyes in exasperation.
"All humans have the instinct to survive in the face of death so I can warp anyone who is in danger of losing their lives…

But I cannot warp people who are not willing to go with me even subconsciously. So as long as someone is committed to remaining somewhere, I cannot force them away.
It would go against my nature as a 'good' God," Zeel clarified, once again sending Simpson's suspicious glances back at Nick.
Now that they were unable to escape because Nick was probably being mind-fucked by Ahmanet, Zeel had to think of another approach to the situation.
'Ahmanet wants Nick and it seems that the curse makes him want her as well,' Zeel thought and then looked at Simpson and one thought came to his mind 'Expendable'.
With just two thoughts, Zeel had formulated a plan that demonstrated the decisiveness of a Homo-Superior.
"Nick…" Zeel said and then paused for a moment "The curse makes you want Ahmanet but that might also mean you can't die… the important question is if Ahmanet feels as strongly about you, as you do about her…"
Nick scratched his head in confusion as if trying to figure out an answer to the question and then replied unconsciously "I think she does?"
"Then that makes everything easier," Zeel said, disappearing from his spot and reappearing with his hands on Nick's chest.
A Gravitational-Ball materialized in Zeel's hands and swiftly sunk into Nick's chest through his pores.
The silver veins of the Gravitational-Ball spread through Nick's bloodstream like poison and Zeel carefully maneuvered himself to stand behind Nick with his hands on Nick's back.
What came first was the wilting of forest trees and then Ahmanet burst into the clearing like a raging bull.
Simpson didn't even realize when Zeel had slowly edged both Nick and himself to the corner of the clearing, leaving him between them and Ahmanet.
In a rage, Ahmanet disappeared from her spot and Zeel watched as she kicked apart Simpson's body in a mist of blood and then stopped just a couple of feet in front of him and Nick.
Zeel didn't care about Simpson, he was carefully restraining the silver-veins from spreading throughout the rest of Nick's body.
Nick was frozen from the pain of the Gravitational-Ball digging around under his skin. Nick couldn't even manage a scream before his mind went blank.
Seeing that Ahmanet was somewhat calm after killing Simpson (God bless his sacrifice), Zeel opened his mouth to speak.
"I know you are not up-to-date with technology, so let me tell you what this is," Zeel said, moving his hands around on Nick's back while the silver-veins in Nick's body mimicked his action.
"This is technology… and currently, I have it inside your little boyfriend here, rewriting his DNA into a helix circle… not a cool circle, but more like a baseball circle…"
Zeel paused to make sure that Ahmanet was understanding his threats, and her grinding teeth told him that she was not as dumb as she looked.
Not that he had anything against Mummies, Zeel was just amazed that Ahmanet could think even with her brain in a decayed state.
"Now, I can turn Nick into a ball of flesh and bones within a nanosecond and the change would be permanent.
This change would be on the genetic level so your power would not be able to revert Nick. You'd have to incarnate Seth into a ball.
So you should kneel and let me kill you before I turn Nick into a ball!" Zeel commanded, his draconic eyes radiating uncontrollable pride at the thought of a powerful woman kneeling to him.
Ahmanet's eyes blackened and her knees buckled but she still didn't kneel and that caused the draconic-energy within Zeel to rage.
Zeel's teeth became sharp and he yelled "Kneel woman or I'll turn this ingrate into a fucking dildo!"
Ahmanet finally sunk to her knees, her face a mix of anger and some other expression one could only find in the depths of the abyss.
*Whizz*
Zeel heard a faint whistle and his anger all but dissipated in an instant.
*BBBOOOOOOOOMMMMM!*
The earth shook as a missile detonated sending Nick and Ahmanet crashing through several trees.
[Speed Manipulation]
Zeel barely held his ground by transferring all the force of the explosion that acted on his body to a singular point in his pinkie finger.
His finger instantly turned blue with stagnant ichor but reverted a couple of seconds later when his healing factor kicked in.
When the explosion calmed, Zeel swayed on his feet when he sensed all the Egyptian Mercury covering an entire section of the forest.
Everything that followed was a blur since the Egyptian Mercury, used to restrain evil, caused Zeel's mind to become uncoordinated.
Zeel blurrily saw Jenny running over to Nick's side, a group of soldiers with weapons restraining the struggling Ahmanet, and Henry and several medics making their way over to his position.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
