《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 245 - Your Body Knows

Lara laid in Zeel's embrace on the bed. She had woken up not long after their arrival at the hotel.
Both Zeel and Lara were naked, staring at the ceiling with bewildered looks on their faces.
The earlier sex session was beyond anything Lara had experienced before. Zeel was mainly at fault for losing himself in the process.
Lara had come to the realization that sex with Zeel was probably rapidly becoming an addiction for her.
She was pretty sure that her increasing dislike for males aside from Zeel, was most likely a result of the amazing sex.
Usually, you would lose the feeling of euphoria after an orgasm, but Zeel made her mind drift to cloud nine for the entire three hours of sex.
Lara could still feel Zeel's hand caressing every part of her body, weeks after they had sex.
It was as if Zeel's touch would imprint itself onto your soul.
Zeel, on the other hand, was using his nanites to retrace the linage of Lara's ancestry.
Even though he removed all his energy from Lara's body, she was still having slight appearance changes.
It was almost as if her body was a natural container for his energy.
"What do you think when you stare at one place for that long?" Lara asked curiously looking up at Zeel's face from his chest.
"I think nothing," Zeel replied bluntly.
Lara was happy so she didn't mind his one-word replies.
Yet, there was something that pulled her curiosity even more.
"I notice that you sometimes hold your head in pain. It's like everything you do is a punishment.
Yet, when you are around me, you don't hold your head as much. Are you dying of terminal brain cancer or something?" Lara asked.
Zeel was surprised by her observations. It wasn't the observations that surprised him, but the fact that he never noticed she was paying that much attention to him.
"Everything in the world is intrinsically linked.
The headaches come when I do something bad, or interact with people I shouldn't," Zeel stated but he soon took notice of the confused look on Lara's face, so he explained further.
"People think that there is just good and bad in this world. Sadly, not even Heaven functions with just good and bad deeds.
It's like this: say I want to kill a cartel in Mexico when I wake up tomorrow. He has murdered many families, killed many children, raped many women. Will I be justified in killing him?" Zeel asked.

"Of course," Lara replied immediately. How could someone that vile not be killed?
"The answer is 'no'," Zeel replied, surprising Lara "The world is much more complicated than what you think. Sometimes good deeds make things worse.
You see, people like me will be punished by the world for murdering that Cartel.
I am a big guy, so I have to worry about the big picture. But you are a little guy, so you can worry about the little picture.
I do what I do, so you can do what you do. That Cartel provides for many men and women who would go hungry otherwise.
He keeps killers, and drug dealers under control so they don't force the drugs onto kids in schools.
He makes sure they conduct business professionally in different counties. He is the head of the chicken, and when you cut it off, everything falls into chaos.
Ever seen a chicken run around without a head? Exactly!
You see, killing that Cartel would be justice for the hundreds of people he killed, but at the same time, you would be condemning thousands of families to death. It's basic math,"
"Still, it would be all about the bigger picture until someone close to you dies because of that Cartel," Lara whispered.
"I agree," Zeel said "But it would also be stupid of me to take a gun to kill a child just because he bullies other kids.
More realistically, it would be like God descending from Heaven to punish a serial killer, when an existential threat is devouring the world itself,"
Lara nodded, when Zeel said it like that, she could also understand where he was coming from.
It was just about how much of the bigger picture you could see in the end.
However, Zeel's voice turned grim the next moment "I was never so open-minded. The world could burn as long as those I care about live.
I can look at the bigger picture at times, but in the end, my picture is all that matters to me,"
Lara giggled and rubbed her head into Zeel's chest some more.
That sounded more like an answer she would expect from him.
It was within his nature to save himself first and everyone later, at least that was the vibe Lara got from him.

The following morning, Lara and Zeel got dressed, freshened themselves, and ventured out onto the streets of Hong Kong.
Zeel already had a helicopter waiting for them at the dock. Their trip to the island was already planned.
Lara only sought to find more information about her father from the fisherman named 'Lu Ren'.
Zeel and Lara wandered the market for a couple of minutes before they were pointed towards the direction of Lu Ren.
"Thank you!" Lara said reaching into her bag to pass the kids some pocket change.
However, her kind intention was rewarded with the kids swiftly taking her bag and making a great escape.
Luckily, Zeel already kicked two of the teens off their feet before they could make the ten feet mark.
Lara handled the last teenager with the bag. One quick jab to the throat allowed Lara to retrieve the bag with minimal difficulty.
Still, the teenagers were reluctant to let go of such a promising revenue generator.
However, just as one teenager was about to reach into his pocket for a knife. Zeel grabbed his hand and stared directly into his eyes.
"Whenever you get into a fight, it should be with the intention to take a life. I am fully prepared to kill you, your two friends, your family, and then your friends' families.
So think very carefully about what you do next," Zeel said as his eyes flashed ruby-red slits for an instant.
Lara wanted to intervene, she knew Zeel was not joking. He would have killed two police officers and a close friend of hers, had she not stopped him in time.
Usually, if you met someone like Zeel, you would stay as far away as possible.
However, Lara found that Zeel generally lacked an attitude to do anything at all. You really had to annoy him to get any response at all.
The three teens trembled but still seemed reluctant to depart.
*Crack*
Zeel directly squeezed and shattered the left hand of the teenager in front.
Had it been the old him, everyone in the market would have already died, but this time he was showing mercy.
The teenager in front wanted to scream, but his jaw was soon gripped by Zeel and also shattered.
The teen could barely manage to gargle unintelligible sounds from his shattered lower jaw.
Zeel knew that his actions were not entirely justified, but he had an itch that required scratching ever since Lara had him spare the officers a couple of days ago.
Lara wanted to step forward at this moment but found her feet nailed in place. She knew what Zeel's intention was, but respect for Zeel oozed outside her body.
Seeing that the teenagers were frozen by fright, Zeel nodded approvingly, patted them on the shoulders, and continued on his journey with Lara.
After they were a fair distance away, Lara asked "Why couldn't I move?"
"Because you were scared,"
"I was not scared," Lara replied like a child throwing a tantrum.
"You want the truth?" Zeel asked raising his brows.
"Yeah,"
"You didn't move because I would have shattered your knee caps. Your head didn't know that but your body instinctively knew," Zeel mentioned eyeing Lara, waiting for her reaction.
Lara, on the contrary, was not too surprised.
It wasn't because her head didn't warn her, it was more like her body judged that a shattered kneecap would not be a critical injury to her.
The duo walked in silence until Lara broke into a sprint towards a boat in the distance.
"It says 'Endurance'," She shouted at Zeel, running towards the ship.
No matter how mature you were, when it came to parents, you would always react like the child you once were.
Zeel also broke into a light jog with a wry smile on his face.
Whoever heard about a God of Speed jogging?
Surprisingly, Zeel soon felt a warm feeling coursing through his body. His divinity had made a small breakthrough.
Jogging could allow him to increase his divinity control?
Zeel took this as a lesson to how truly negligent he was to the beauty of Humans.
His life as someone strong has always blinded him from learning profound lessons about strength.
Maybe Lara could help him become a better person inside and out, unlike Alice, who was satisfied with just a leash around his neck.

Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

This rift transports him into another galaxy, where his journey to become the core of the most prominent sect begins. --- This is my first story, and the release schedule will be spotty in the beginning because I still have to do a lot of world building and thinking where the story should go. But I decided to put it out into the world to get some feedback so I can see what people think about it and maybe even get some inspiration. --- The cover image is not my own. I copied it from the internet. I thought it was cool and it suited the story. All rights reserved for the owner of the image.

The Blood Queen
The rain fell from the sky with ferocity and smashed into the pavement filling the air with the sound of a stampede. The noise was deafening as I struggled to stand up. The blood from my wound was covering the ground beneath me and I covered it with my hand as I pushed off the pavement. On my feet now I struggled to step towards the grass. Through the howling wind and pounding raindrops I could hear what sounded like a chant, calling me and drawing me towards the cliffs edge. "Vienna, my Queen, my blood Queen" I started to move my feet faster until I could run towards the edge. Only when I was at the edge did I turn and look back one last time at the castle behind me. I could see him standing on the balcony, he was screaming my name. I could just hear it over the rain. I unclipped my red cape and whispered goodbye to him. As he jumped off the balcony to run towards me I leaned backwards and let my body fall with the rushing water to the river far down below. I carried her whispers with me to the dark edge until they vanished.
