《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 225 - Crystal Crawford

Zeel immediately recognized the usefulness of his newly acquired ability to see the defining moments in a person's life.
It offered him a unique insight into the human mind that he had never experienced before.
Previously, he had been looking through a microscope at the growing bacteria of Humanity, but now he could mingle as a bacterium as well.
Still, seeing the journey of others was a considerable emotional strain on Zeel's fragile emotional mind.
Sean walked over and slumped in a seat next to Zeel's as the bus started moving.
"How could you know that?"
Zeel did not answer immediately but thought about the answer for a while "I have seen a lot in my life,"
Sean was quiet for a moment then asked "Do you have a phone mate? I can give you my number so if you need a place to stay, you can camp with me.
I don't like to brag but I am pretty minted, and we can keep our knees up all night,"
"Just tell me the number and I will come to you when I am hungry," Zeel said without any decorum.
Food was not necessary for his physique but it still helped the Zeelinium in Zeel's body synthesize energy much faster.
Sean quickly told Zeel his number and then paused "What blinding things have you witnessed?"
"Everything," Zeel said not sparing Sean a glance "I have seen the world bless criminals and fail to reward the devoted.
I have seen entire civilizations slaughtered for one bad deed when they contributed good deeds for thousands of years.
I have seen fathers and mothers give everything for their children only for it to be squandered away. I have seen true love that changes as much as the seasons but it does not lose its potency.
What have I not witnessed at this point?"
"Sounds like a lot," Sean muttered already registering Zeel as a crazy person in the back of his mind.

Sean did not discuss what Zeel had seen anymore, instead, he sat next to Samantha and relaxed.
When Sean was gone, Zeel took out an iPod he had created with his nanites earlier, but then he realized that he also needed headphones.
"Fuck! I still can't understand these old gadgets," Zeel said.
He had spent so much time surviving that he had not truly figured out how to live like a normal person.
The only thing he learned was not to vaporize items in the kitchen anymore.
"How are the girls?" Zeel asked.
Codes flickered across Zeel's eyes as The Red Queen started a full comprehensive report on the situation of Alice and Elizabeth.
"Subject Alice has improved her Applied Research Skills by a large margin. Her level of emotional growth has been the most significant over the past two years.
Her correlation and cross-sectional skills show a breakthrough in the psyche, but this is due to my leaking of the Demand Characteristics associated with this experiment.
Elizabeth has also improved significantly but this improvement has shown signs of the Hawthorn Effect.
She lacks the proper motivation to improve herself genuinely and instead hinges her improvements on Alice's progress.
I believe she has a lot of untapped talent that could be useful from henceforth we just need to find the right trigger,"
Zeel raised his hand signaling the Red Queen to stop.
"Tell me about those three girls,"
"Alle and Ella were initially thought to be Elizabeth's Sword Spirits, born from the Sentient Energy within The Rainbow Ruler Orb, but after a period of observation.
I have found this investigation to be inconclusive. They formed their base forms from Elizabeth's DNA but they seem to be unfamiliar with physical existences," The Red Queen reported.
Zeel stared at the image of Ella and Alle "These girls are not my children. Anytime a Homo-Superior has a child, the name of the child will be branded into the backs of the mother and father.

It was tradition and one of our most advanced technologies. It did not matter where, how, or why the child was born.
The child would be burned into your back like a scar and then transported to wherever you are across the Multiverse,"
"Is it possible that the extinction of your race could have altered the appearance of the scar?" The Red Queen asked.
"No, things are more sophisticated than your 6th Generation Sentient Core can comprehend. It would be impossible for me to have a child that I am unaware of.
But you are right, Ella and Alle are not simple spirits.
Continue their observation and keep them close to Elizabeth at all times. It would be counterproductive if the children they raised would die and burden them psychologically,"
"The last child is named Zil. She was born in Afghanistan, her mother was raped and killed,"
"She looks more like my child with her skin color and temperament," Zeel complimented.
"Yes sir. She had demonstrated borderline sociopathic behavior near Humans. Alice and Elizabeth did not account for the psychological changes in raising a child as a Lorien and Homunculi.
The child was raised as a warrior in a modern environment and has suffered an identity crisis because of it.
But she is normal by our standards. The child is seventeen years old this year and has shown great promise as an inheritor or protector of Alle and Ella.
The three sisters are close but Alle and Ella still keep a distance from the human," The Red Queen reported.
"Any alterations to her body?"
"No significant alterations, but due to the nature of Elizabeth's skill. The child has developed the ability to extract emotions from a person and use it against them; however, this skill has only begun to blossom and has not been discovered as yet,"
"Okay," Zeel mused and then made up his mind "Kill all the children in Alice's orphanages across the world within a year. Leave no traces of us in this Universe.
That should act as a stimulus to Alice and Elizabeth after you show them the images. Give the Zil girl a ten percent chance of survival.
If she survives, send her to Indis for training and if she dies… then she dies,"
The Red Queen did not comment since Alice and Elizabeth were her main concerns.
The Zil girl was just a blimp in their lives.
Zeel materialized a Pseudo-Beamer from his storage Dimension along with a white vial of energy and tossed it into the air.
The objects disappeared into the air, and would only reveal themselves should the girl prove herself useful as an inheritor for either Alice or Elizabeth.
However, Zeel's interest peaked when he reviewed the data of Alle and Ella once more, he felt as if he was missing something to put it all together.
Just to be sure, Zeel extended his left hand as multiple scars moved from his back to his left hand.
Zeel stared at it for a moment and then started to send the scars to inconspicuous locations on his body once more.
When no scar remained, Zeel was sure that he had no children, or the brand of a name would have been present on his arm.
Sadly, Zeel failed to notice the slight white flame that lingered on his hand after he turned his face away.
When Zeel had directed his attention somewhere else, the flame flashed briefly as the faint outline of a name appeared on Zeel's hand – Crystal Crawford.
Sadly, it was a name that was nearly transparent and still too light to really notice, but every day it became bolder and bolder.

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
