《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 185 - Fighting Divine Beasts

"Those guys look mad," voiced Alice looking at the furious Kraken and Gigantape in the distance.
If stares along could kill, Zeel and herself would have already died thousand times over.
Of course, stares can kill now that they are gods.
Zeel nodded since the stare of the beasts was enough to convey their increasing killing intent. As Gods, Zeel and Alice had become sensitive to the intents of others.
"They can continue to be mad, we just need them to not do anything for the next two minutes," Zeel replied wanting to stall for time until the nuclear bombardment.
Zeel failed to tell Alice that he didn't simply launch Nuclear bombs to their location, but thermonuclear bombs to be more reassured.
Alice laughed at how stupidly effective their plans had become. Once upon a time, Zeel would plan every step they took, but now he had become much more laid back.
She knew that he was doing this so Elizabeth and herself could get acquainted with battles.
"Wouldn't their instinct blare up long before the bombs hit?" Alice asked.
Zeel shrugged "Maybe the Gigantape but The Kraken wouldn't notice since it entered something akin to a berserk state,"
Alice and Zeel didn't have the opportunity to continue their conversation. They both turned their heads at super-speeds that would shatter the neck of any mortal race.
The next moment, the Gigantape bent down and with a huge leap, it was already above their heads.
They both watched in awe that such an enormous beast could jump so gracefully irrespective of gravitational forces.
The enormous feet of the Gigantape descended from the heavens like god was ready to bestow judgment on their sinful lives.
The massive feet of the beast smashed into the loose sands of the desert. A huge rumble followed that was felt over a couple of hundred miles.

One moment Alice and Zeel were directly under the feet, the next moment they were a couple of hundred meters away.
Still, at that distance, they still felt a massive shockwave hit their bodies. Luckily, they had divine bodies or they would have been lumps of blood and flesh from the shockwave alone.
During this time, they made a fatal flaw however, they neglected to pay attention to the Kraken.
Specifically, the tentacles it had embedded underground. By the time Zeel and Alice became aware of the folly, it was already too late.
A massive tentacle shot up from below the sands, wrapping Zeel's two feet in place. He didn't even have time to make sense of the situation before he was tossed towards the Gigantape.
In any other circumstance, Zeel would have been able to immediately react, but since the tentacles had a faint trace of divinity, Zeel had a hard time gathering his wits.
Alice was much more proactive in her approach, she had already begun to burn the tentacle that threw Zeel. Soon a couple more tentacles rose up from below ground.
Alice hopped high into the air as her boots morphed into anti-gravity boots.
With a flash of blue light, she shot towards The Kraken in the distance.
Alice had grown tired of The Kraken and decided to melt its face-off thoroughly this time. Zeel flew towards the Gigantape, he had already exhausted the passive use of his divinities.
Unable to enter a different time zone or even a dimensional jump, Zeel opted to return to his roots.
With a wave of his hands, numerous silver balls materialized in the air, followed by two ionic blasters appearing in Zeel's hands.
Zeel recalled that guns and knives were his and Alice's most useful weapons in the beginning.
They were still more effective with these weapons, but any weapon would not last very long in their hands since they ascended.

Their divinities were very aggressive and eroded the weapons after a short period of usage.
Zeel would rather use his fist in comparison to a sword that would become brittle halfway through a battle.

Zeel began blasting ionic beams towards the Gigantape who just passively took on the bombardment with no changes to its facial features.
The Gigantape was looking down at the entire battle in disdain.
Zeel was perfectly fine with that outcome since he only needed to stall for about a minute longer.
Realizing he wasn't getting anywhere fast, Zeel waved his hand as the silver balls gathered and formed into a giant cone-like structure in the air.
The cone soon began spinning charging with a concentrated ionic beam.
The Gigantape finally had a minor change in expression, it switched from a statuesque appearance to a fierce nature expected from a jungle king.
Zeel would have much preferred the beast's laid back attitude of earlier.
The divine cloud of energy surrounding its body suddenly dispersed and instead began flickering like flames similar to the Kraken.
Zeel was sure it was about to enter a sort of berserk state similar to that of The Kraken. On the bright side, both beasts' senses had dulled enough to not notice the incoming bombardment.
The cone blasted a concentrated beam of ionic energy that bounced off the Gigantape.
Though if one looked closely enough, they could see burn marks appear on the Gigantape's shoulder.
The ionic beam had clearly done damage no matter how insignificant it was.
The Gigantape lost its cool and began thumping in outrage. This action coupled with the ever-expanding divine field gave the beast a sort of intimidating feeling.
Zeel was not ashamed to admit that he was indeed slightly intimidated by the action. The beast began to smack the desert sands with great intensity.
'Thump'
'Thump'
'Thump'
The desert sands blew, causing an artificial sandstorm that covered a couple of square miles of desert.
Of course, divine beings didn't lack the ability to see through almost any covering or illusion.
Alice and Zeel could still clearly see everything around them without any obstructions. The ground shook causing even the Kraken fighting Alice to become dizzy.
Alice used this chance to escape the battle and glided over to Zeel's side not minding the tentacles chasing behind her.
The moment Alice landed, Zeel redirected the silver balls that had been firing at the Gigantape to take out the incoming tentacles.
The tentacles were shot down one by one, completely pulverized so they could no longer be re-attached.
Suddenly, Zeel and Alice had an illusion of the air becoming much heavier. They felt a threat to their lives and immediately acted to avoid the incoming catastrophe.
Zeel and Alice quickly maneuvered their fingers in a peculiar manner.
The nearby silver-balls began spinning creating a protective barrier that soon shrouded both their bodies.
The silver balls didn't stop spinning even after they were both enclosed in a barrier, instead more and more layers were added to the barrier.
Soon flashes of light could be seen descending from the skies above. Dozens of smoke trails could be seen crisscrossing the horizon.
The Gigantape and Kraken were confused at Alice's and Zeel's sudden caution, but their instincts suddenly started blaring up.
However, it was a little too late, though they did manage to shroud themselves in a divine barrier at the last second.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
