《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 159 - Feeling of Power

After picking up Millie's things, the group was on their way to the airport. Zeel had to buy a jet the moment they left the bar since Griffin said they owned a private jet.
While Zeel possessed more money than he could spend in a lifetime, he was also being pressured by Elizabeth to donate all of it upon leaving the world, so he preferred saving as much as possible.
Zeel was disdainful of Elizabeth's intentions, but he would prefer a happy Elizabeth at this time when Alice was being a bit sketchy.
The group was considering just teleporting to the Paladin base, but Zeel decided to enjoy the journey since they were in no rush and he had nothing but time.
Time from Universe to Universe varied, some Universes moving faster and some slower.
Elizabeth and Zeel especially wanted to buy time, as much as possible since they wanted to get Alice's divinities under control before Mjumping again.
Alice's case was concerning since her divinity was directly related to Punishment and Retribution, which Zeel deserved much of due to his childhood and mind-set.
Zeel was not sure that multiverse-jumping with a half-baked divinity, wouldn't be like radio broadcasting your location to the government when you're a terrorist.
So if there were no changes in the plans, Elizabeth and Zeel had decided to stay in the Dimension Gap for a couple of dozen years, opting to capture all the jumpers they could since it was best to account for all the variables.
The jet had already taken off and was in complete silence apart from David and Millie cuddling off in a dark corner.
Zeel then called everyone to the center, a table with drinks floating over it, lights flowing in patterns without any conductive material, simply put just a light show.
It was something magical achieved through the combination of his and Elizabeth's power since Alice had trained her telekinesis strictly for combat and not versatility in daily life – not that she could now use any of her abilities anymore.
Zeel had confirmed that her connection with Lorien was severed the moment she became an Ascended, rather it was like Lorien rejected her after injecting some Cosmic Force into her body as a parting gift.
Alice was sure that Cosmic Forces were genderless, but for some reason, she could tell that Lorien had a sort of attachment to Zeel.

"So here is something I been wondering," Griffin started off eyeing Zeel, Alice, and Elizabeth "Are the three of you guys like a thing?"
Griffin stared at Zeel in praise of the potential answer. Zeel would be the envy of all men should he answer 'yes'.
"No shit Sherlock," Elizabeth said laughing at the dumb question "What gave you that idea? Our lingering around each other, maybe it's our scent all being the same, or maybe the love marks on our necks in the mornings,"
"Haha, yeah we're, the three of us together," Alice said as she points at herself, Zeel and Elizabeth.
Zeel nodded "We're the Crawfords," then he paused and said "If that name hasn't already lost its meaning,"
Alice and Elizabeth began showing off the logo on their cuffs that identified their new family house.
"Wait!" Millie squealed slightly tipsy from the drinks "How does that work, don't you girls get jealous when sharing him? I mean I totally would,"
Millie eyed David suspiciously as if asking if he had more lovers as well.
Alice considered for a bit and decided to go with the truth "You see we have many different values, we don't fear falling in love usually, we fear falling in love with someone weak. Even now we have to be strong to stay with Zeel and the same situation would happen vice versa, or we could all ... well die,"
"Wow! That's love, I would think you guys had been together all your lives from that statement," Millie said as a joke.
Alice and Zeel looked at each other and smiled "We have been together for about 40 or 50 years now? Elizabeth about 30 years or so now?"
"Yup sounds about right," Elizabeth said with shrimps stuffing her mouth from the cocktail floating on the table.
Still, she did not forget to push out her chest to enhance her womanly charm.
Though, everyone thought she was simply an 18-year-old girl that was chasing a married man – Zeel.
That was how it seemed to Millie, who had never experienced anything unordinary before.
"Wouldn't that make you guys like 60-ish?" David asked finally finding the topic slightly interesting.
"yeah, I am about the early '60s, and Alice is –"

*plop*
Zeel quieted down after a smack to the back of his head.
"I am ageless, that's what he meant," Alice said with a wide smile that made Zeel panic and Elizabeth giggle.
"So aren't you guys like gods?" Griffin asked a topic that interested everyone, except the confused Millie.
Elizabeth, Zeel, and Alice went quite briefly.
Zeel looked around then waved his hands a couple of times in the air.
Everyone felt a jelly-like substance pass through their bodies as everything returned to normal a moment later.
"Well, Alice is an ascending; gods have ranks just like the military you could say. And well we came here to become a god," Zeel summarized feeling that sharing such information was not harmful in any way.
Especially since Zeel covered the plane in a barrier that blocked all incoming and outgoing signals.
"You're saying we can all become gods?" David asked intrigued by the thought of becoming a god.
"Well that depends, the chances are near impossible. We do it because we have to and I kind of want to see all there is. But a lot more people die on this path. Come here," Zeel said as he waved his hand towards Griffin, David, and a confused Millie.
Extending his hand towards them, Zeel then motioned to them to take it. David was the first followed by Millie and then Griffin.
All of a sudden, they felt an overwhelming feeling of power, like they could do anything, then the power began to get greater and greater until their bones started cracking and their noses began to bleed.
It was power beyond anything they felt previously, it made them drunk and addicted at the moment they felt it.
Zeel had a sadistic smile as he continued to get David, Griffin, and Millie drunk on his power.
He had seen this many times before, the way people changed when they got a whiff of true strength.
However, their noses began to bleed a bit too intense, and Alice was growing more and more agitated, so Zeel withdrew his hand.
Zeel mumbled a quiet "Sorry!"
"But you felt it right? That overwhelming sense of power, then it began to consume you. That's what we have to deal with every day.
You have to keep it in check, and you need a body that can sustain that type of power, ours is at its threshold. We would have already died if not for someone powerful helping us.
You see we have no choice but to become divine or demonic, giving the power-up isn't an option at this stage," Zeel explained to the trio panting on the ground.
"What are you, people?" Millie asked, realizing till now that these guys weren't joking.
A few minutes ago, Millie would swear that David's friends were crazy, but now she was not so sure.
"You can call us Aliens, or Wanderers, or perhaps gods, bastards, killers, fighters, survivors, and maybe even world destroyers," Alice mentioned while alternating her gaze between Zeel and Elizabeth "Sometimes we lack control but we shouldn't be blamed for it, because as much as you beat us up about it, we are beating ourselves up much more,"
Zeel knew the last statement Alice said was directed at him, but he did not have the intent to really listen, as he was not mad at Alice he was mad at himself.
As the man of the group, he had to be able to protect them, which meant managing every possibility and he had forgotten about the possibility of them being controlled by themselves.
Zeel already had countermeasures against the girls being controlled by others.
Zeel had experience with psychics before and knew that the best mind defense was not one that let nobody in.
The best mind defenses were those that hurt anyone who entered. Zeel's mind was trained to be so complex that anyone who entered it would die the moment they entered.
Of course, that was given they were not an exceptionally powerful psychic, or from a psychic race.
Likewise, Zeel altered Elizabeth's and Alice's mindscape to vaguely resemble his own. This could be considered enough protection for someone like them.
He was unable to make it exactly like his own since everyone's mind was different, and the Homo-Superior mind was multi-dimensional.
Alice and Elizabeth barely had a 4th Dimensional mindset at this moment.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
