《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 62 - Back To Work

Alice and Zeel are lounging about a hotel lobby in Dubai, they had fully indulged in the life of spoiled rich kids.
Zeel even had it down to the gold shoelaces; while Alice would always dress in military styled clothing – she was still refusing to wear a dress outside the bedroom.
After their wild night in the Caribbean, Zeel spoilt the moment by telling the true reason for gifting her the Rainbow ring.
It was simply her own Mbeamer in disguise. Though Alice's Mbeamer in the rainbow ring form came with extra perks that Zeel had not mentioned, or rather he simply could not remember what they were.
At this time, through experimentation, Zeel learned the nanites could copy and re-make any tech given enough resources.
Hence, with enough nano-metals in his and Alice's bodies, the nanites could make anything – even clothing.
Zeel had seen Alice make a dress out of the nanites and couldn't keep his hands off her for the entire day. This left her exhausted and walking funny for almost a week.
Currently, the king and queen of the apocalypse are stealing free soap and peppermint from the hotel lobby. The hotel representative grew tired of them eating too much of the free goods.
"So what's next, we're still two months away from project completion, and that is considering anyone contacts us from amongst the numbers," Alice said swinging her feet in the air, which made her look like a dog chasing its own tail.
"Well if they don't contact us, we'll go find them. While I may not be honorable, I was given power so I will see the predicaments through to the end. Also, I know you feel it too right? Ever since we introduced ourselves, someone has been trying to hinder our search," Zeel replied, codes flickering across his pupil.
"Yeah, they're trying to access our information and track us. They're also sweeping the net for anyone who might mention our names but too bad for them. The technology of this world is severely lacking, and depressing. Who needs electronic toasters?"

"Yeah, sometimes I fuck with them and delete all their records, should put whoever it is back a couple of months, I think it's the Magadorians though.
But with some human intervention since the satellites, their use is primarily FBI and other law enforcement. Only with brief hack attempts from private government organizations," Zeel commented while in deep thought.
"So they are working their way up the echelon? This isn't going to be as easy as we thought then. Since fighting our fellow humans is a bit out of the question. And I am guessing you won't consider destroying the planet," Alice said more in a probing manner than a joking manner.
"For you fighting humans is off-limit. I rather enjoy breaking a couple of bones," Zeel said as he shrugged.
But he failed to mention that with the current energies in their bodies, they could not destroy a planet even if they had the capability.
Zeel and Alice were currently at the peak of human strength, this meant that their status was no longer nobodies.
Any action of a wide-scale would attract unwanted attention from beings outside their expectations.
Zeel knew this because his Universe was loitered with such beings, but with his Universe's tech, the beings could do little to nothing. But now, being here, was an entirely different matter.
Alice, seeing Zeel's half-hearted reply, said "No excessive killing. Unless you want the marriage to end early,"
"Fine! …" Zeel grumbled before whispering to himself "Unless the humans fight against each other,"
Zeel then sunk into deep thought. Suddenly, they both feel an intrusion attempting to hack into their server in New York.
They had tasked this specific server with information collection.
This hack was peculiar as they could tell it was done using an outdated computer model, but with mad skills. This person would have succeeded in hacking the server, had they not intervened.

"Up for another adventure?" Zeel asked.
"Back to work huh?"
"Got the address. Let's go" Zeel said as both he and Alice caught a taxi to the outskirts of the desert-like city.
Once there, Zeel began to focus as several mechanical parts of a dismantled ship began to reconnect and in the end presenting a black quinjet.
"That took more out of me than expected," Zeel said while heaving for air.
"You need more time to adjust, unlike my powers that just got amplified, you gained two new abilities. It's like a muscle you have to be able to use it like your combat memory – unconsciously and with precision," Alice reminded to which Zeel nodded though a bit disgruntled.
They then proceeded to enter the jet, Zeel had to continuously channel his power so they could remain cloaked throughout the journey.
This was inefficient but Zeel reasoned with Alice that he required the extra training because, unlike her, he was not a genius with his powers and abilities.
With a sonic boom, the cloaked quinjet set off to a safe house location near New Mexico.
Five minutes later on arrival, Alice and Zeel did their next favorite entrance method after bursting through walls – busting through walls while sky diving.
"It's here let's go. Race you," Alice said as she leaped out using her telekinesis to aid in her descent by accelerating her speed.
Zeel jumped immediately after her, as pieces of metal and chips shot after him. The metals began attaching themselves to his feet, forming a pair of metallic like shoes that seem to glide on gravity.
Speeding down, the duo was about to crash through the roof of the safe house when an alarm blared and a pulse was sent from the inside knocking them both back a couple of feet.
Their bodies stagnated and looked as if it was moving in slow motion.
A woman jumped to the top of the roof, with a weird-looking gun in her hand, ready to blast them away. Zeel and Alice had been too lax these couple of months as they had somewhat lost their cautiousness.
Over the past couple of months, they had begun to lean more toward having fun.
They thought since this world was much better off than their own, they could enjoy themselves along the way.
After all, how much trouble could such a primitive world be? An apocalypse was pretty much as bad as things get right?
Having their bodies infinitesimally slowed provided a rude awakening to them both. As much as they were bitter, Alice and Zeel were immensely grateful as since they arrived they had been underestimating this new universe.
Just as the woman was about to shoot the Loric gun, Zeel swiftly twitched his fingers sending out an equal pulse to the one before. The moment the pulse struck Zeel, it was analyzed and reverse-phase by his nanites.
The pulse Zeel sent out broke apart the gun in the woman's hands as well as whatever source was generating the stasis field.
However, just as they were about to breathe a sigh of relief, they had yet another rude awakening as the woman yelled "I am sorry I couldn't find the numbers, my mission failed but I'll take these damn Magadorians slaves down with me,"
She flipped a switch near her belt.
"Alice!" Zeel yelled before an explosion stemming miles erupted from the safe house drowning all three within.
Lucky thing they were on the outskirts of New Mexico because the blast radius was enough to take a small village with it.
