《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 41 - He'll Have To Look For Me

(Alice POV)
"My name is Alice. I worked for the Umbrella Corporation, in a secret laboratory developing experimental bio weaponry.
There was an incident, a virus escaped. Everybody died. trouble was...
They didn't stay dead. This was the start of an apocalypse that would sweep the entire world.
But in the midst of chaos, I managed to find my happiness in a man named Zeel Crawford.
With no memories of my life before and nothing to look forward to I guess I was thrilled to find someone just as lost as me.
We traveled together for two years: learning, adapting, falling in love helplessly with each other,
But that all changed a couple of months ago when we split apart,
We both had different objectives since taking the previous base in the desert,
Zeel being the wanderer he is, craved exploration and other hidden agendas I wasn't made pricy to,
I now had a mission, an objective to carry out no matter what – the destruction of Umbrella.
Zeel was against me using the clones as my personal soldiers even if the girls agreed to it,
One thing led to another and here I am six months later – a single married woman.
Quite paradoxical right? But why do the men responsible for this disaster get to remain happy?
The men responsible for this disaster, this apocalypse took refuge underground
And continued to experiment with the deadly T-Virus. They felt secure in their high-tech fortress.
But they were wrong. After all, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman in the apocalypse who just lost the love of her life'
And I plan to make the Umbrella High Command feel the same pain I felt for years,
Watching my sisters die in experiment after experiment,
Now I plan to let the hate burn like a flame and incinerate all those under the Umbrella banner

This is supposed to be the last facility the girls and I would destroy after this year-long world tour targeted at the destruction of known Umbrella bases.
I am no genius with a computer, but I can do enough to get by especially with the nanites in my system helping me hack the Umbrella Corporation computers. I found three locations for underground facilities before the data was deleted.
Over the past year since the separation with Zeel, I have destroyed two bases that secured the most resources for the Umbrella Corporation.
I hope that destroying a third would at least cripple them enough to buy some time.
For what exactly? I am not sure, but I just need time to figure out what's my next move. Maybe look for Zeel? Maybe explore with my sisters? Maybe… maybe I could start a family of my own?
The girls seemed interested in touring this withered planet looking for others to help.
Though I knew it was an excuse as they seemed to want to give Zeel and me some space, after all they felt pretty bad about the breakup since it was their fault for screwing him 24/7.
Most of the girls have already left on their journey but a few remained, the few that remained only did so because their decay rates were higher than the later perfected clones.
Meaning they would die after a couple of months out of the incubation chamber,
Before he left Zeel had found a method to slow the decay rate but the girls refused to take the treatment saying "They rather die for something they believed in than living in a world that had already been brought to its knees"
I think Zeel and I were too experienced in love, and the burden of the sisters caused us to major out of the honeymoon stage faster than we would have liked to.

Destruction rains in the underground facility as I sneak aboard a next-generation jet parked in the bay, it would serve as a trap for Wesker.
Not long after I boarded he came running out of the base and swiftly jumped into the pilot seat and began lifting off.
In the distance I could hear, nay … I could feel the battle ongoing, I could feel the struggle of my sisters as they took their last breaths, I could hear the gargles of those they killed in the facility, I could also feel the sense of accomplishment they reveled in knowing our journey had come to an end.
When Wesker had flown a fair distance away, I heard it:
"Intruder Alert. Purge Facility."
"Authorization." The on-board AI asks.
Wesker puts his handprint at the location indicated as the AI confirms "Countdown Started!"
The next thing I see through the window is a massive explosion enough to level an entire city, I felt a twinge in my heart mourning for the death of my sisters but I know they would prefer a warrior's death than a scum's life.
Walking up behind Wesker I point a gun to the back of his head.
"Any last words?" I ask contemplating if I should pull the trigger and be done with it or attempt to find out the secrets he keeps – no doubt a bad habit picked up from Zeel's mentality of 'Get the maximum out of each kill'.
"How nice to finally meet the real you." He replies and with a swift motion, almost at Zeel's level of speed, he injects something into my neck. 'Fuck' I think as I wonder how I could be so careless, anyway what's done is done.
"Hurts...doesn't it? Well, it's just the start of the bad news. All those powers of yours... Speed ...Strength... Accelerated healing... Well, you can kiss all those goodbye," He brags as I'm struggling to breathe on the ground.
"What have you done?" I asked through rough breaths.
"The Serum I've injected you with is neutralizing the T-cells within your body. Put simply...The Umbrella Corporation is taking back its property. You just didn't work out. So, you are being withdrawn." He goes on to explain and then I feel it the nanites inside my body seem to be acting up to expel the substance, feels like it will take a while though.
I notice I can't use my telekinetic powers anymore either so I guess it really does what he says.
"I am what you used to be... Only better." Wesker brags once again.
"Please wait," I struggle to say, using the last power of my nanites to hack the piloting system.
"Last words?" he asked looking intrigued.
"Thank you" I reply.
"For killing you?" he questions with a confused look on his face causing me to giggle for the first time in months.
"No, for messing with the nanites, now he'll have to come to look for me. After all, I am a woman and still have my pride. Can't go chasing after a man even if it is the apocalypse" I said laughing to myself as if I have won a great victory.
Then he noticed that all this while the jet has been on a collision course with a mountain.
The AI and Wesker attempt course corrections many times but it was too late as I had already locked in the destination "Pull up...Terrain...Terrain... Pull up...Terrain...Terrain..."

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
