《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 39 - An Entire Sky Apart

Zeel, tired and dizzy from the previous encounter, did not have all his wits about him at the moment.

He immediately jumped into the helicopter and attempted to take off.

His usual cautiousness was nowhere to be found.

Zeel didn't even follow the proper start-up procedure. The helicopter in response made it a couple of feet into the air before it began to sway like a drunk girl on the dancefloor.

It was at that moment, Zeel noticed that there seemed to be more soldiers than he had initially expected to fight.

Focusing his senses, Zeel then noticed the incongruity. He could feel data transfers all around him as if the soldiers were being controlled by a central computer.

Slapping his head, Zeel then realized the problem "The satellites are inaccessible because they are continually being used to control human beings as they did with Alice,"

Too bad for Zeel this realization hit home a bit too late.

All of a sudden, his intuition blared up, more than it had previously. Zeel looked outside to see if a missile was launched but noticed nothing.

This distraction was enough for The Red Queen to send an EMP pulse directly into the helicopter mainframe.

This, in turn, sent a couple of thousand volts of electricity through Zeel's body, effectively paralyzing him in place.

Anyone aside from Zeel would have been dead from such an electric shock.

A soldier then sneaked from behind the helicopter. He gun-butted Zeel to knock out his lingering consciousness.

'Oh I am so fucked' was Zeel's last thought before passing out.

"Package acquired," Soldier One reported with the beetle attached to his chest constantly blinking in response.

"Excellent job. I have heard many things about 'Project Exodus'. I would like to see it with my own eyes," replied Wesker's projection on the table.

To say he had been tracking Zeel since the break out of the T-virus was not an exaggeration. Wesker's interest in Zeel had reached the point of near obsession.

Everyone in Umbrella had heard of the notorious 'Project Exodus', which even overshadowed 'Project Alice' by a great margin.

"Roger Sir, beginning extraction to the Arcadia," Soldier One said as a stasis chamber was escorted out of the tent, holding the hibernating body of Zeel.

"Don't keep me waiting too long. By the way use extra sedatives for that one, if half what I hear about him is true, then you'll need more to keep him out," Wesker said with a bit of panic in his voice.

He didn't want any unforeseen circumstances to lead to his prized 'Project Exodus' escape.

Project Exodus aka Zeel was then loaded with the stasis chamber into the last helicopter, prompting extraction to the Arcadia.

While unconscious the entire time, the nanites inside Zeel's nanites had begun to upgrade from Stage Two to Stage Three.

A Helicopter flew over the Oceans of the world, intent on reaching its destination at the fastest rate possible.

Zeel was in and out of consciousness for the next three days, he still had vague senses of what had been occurring near him, but nothing solid.

He was able to sense the sedatives that were fed into his stasis pod at regular intervals. He was able to hear the mocking voices of the soldiers guarding him.

The last thing he recalled was being captured. He keyed into his surroundings by focusing his sense. The familiar feeling of flight assaulted his senses.

He could tell that he was currently in process of being transported somewhere. Judging by the temperature, Zeel guessed they were flying far above the 10,000 feet needed to skydive safely.

His mind worked faster than a quantum computer, eliminating several escape scenarios at once. He finally decided to risk self-destructing his nanites for a chance to survive.

While the nanites were a happy accident, it was by no means comparable to his own life.

No matter how much he thought it over, sky diving from about 20,000 feet without a parachute could only end one way.

Unless, of course, he detonated his nanites to survive the fall at the last moment.

The upwards push of the nanites explosion would cushion his fall somewhat. And the nanites were apart of him, so he could simply eat metals to replenish them at a later date.

That was also under the assumption he lands in water or where no zombies are active, since a long period of recovery was to be expected before he could once again become mobile.

As Zeel was about to act on his suicide plan, he then began to feel a strong resonance connection.

The signal was sent from a couple of thousand feet below his current location. This both surprised him and bewildered him.

This replayed two key information to Zeel: One - Somewhere below him, Alice was located; his chances of survival had just increased.

If he could get close enough to her location, she could use her telekinesis to weaken the impact of the fall.

Two – his nanites had been upgraded to stage three granting him two new abilities: a minor Electromagnetic pulse that would destroy anything electronic within a ten feet distance of himself.

And Stagnation, the ability to pause any machinery for up to three seconds depending on the size and complexity.

The upgraded nanites could filter the sedative out of Zeel's system much faster, so he was no longer in and out of consciousness.

He first hacked the stasis chamber and shut it down stealthily. The chamber fizzled before opening and letting him out.

Zeel groggily got out of the chamber.

The nearby soldiers were both startled and terrified. The soldiers soon found comfort upon witnessing Zeel's unsteady staggering steps.

He was still injured as his nanites were burning the sedative allocating all resources to getting rid of the sedative in his system.

However, his Z-virus healing factor proved enough to grant him combat effectiveness regardless of his bullet-pierced shoulder and lower abdomen.

Utilizing his burst technique, Zeel immediately disabled the two soldiers on his right. Both soldier's necks were twisted in opposite directions.

Then pulling the pin from one of the soldier's grenades, Zeel then threw him to the back of the helicopter followed by the three nearby soldiers.

The plan was to use the soldiers as a buffer for the subsequent explosion. Jumping to the front of the helicopter which seated only one pilot, Zeel then ducked as low as he could in the seat

*BOOOM*.

A massive explosion ensued. Zeel watched as many shrapnel pierced the walls of the helicopter. A couple of shrapnel buried themselves in the neck of the pilot.

The helicopter began to break apart in the freezing air. Zeel pushed himself through the air and out the back of the helicopter.

During the process, a couple of shrapnel grazed his head. Several blunt objects also collided with his head, causing wounds to open and blood to cloud his facial features.

Using sky diving techniques, Zeel entered a state of freefall.

He could barely keep his with the atmospheric pressure squeezing his cloudy mind.

Zeel assumed a straight-diving position to stabilize his descent, but with a lack of goggles, he can only depend on his connection to Alice to find her position.

Zeel closed his eyes and focused on the connection.

This caused a red-line to materialize in front of him, demonstrating the exact trajectory he needed to intersect with Alice's location.
