《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 25 - Bonding As A Couple
Advertisement
For the next two years, Alice and Zeel spent their time wandering around. They moved toward no goal in particular.
At this time, the T-virus had already spread across the world at the speed of modern technology. Though things were tough at times, the two would struggle-on searching for nothing in particular.
What started as goodbye sex, for Alice, soon turned into something more.
After getting an understanding of Zeel, Alice saw him more as an immature child than anything else. However, she would never claim to fully understand Zeel since he was still as dangerous as the day they met.
The only reason Alice was comfortable being around Zeel was the fact that she could grasp his intentions through the nanite connection they shared.
Every thought, every dream, every experience was shared between them both due to their psychic and nanite connection.
Their bond grew even deeper when it was compounded by the lack of people in the Apocalypse.
They never felt lonely staring at the empty cities and desolate lands, they fulfilled each other. Zeel would always come up with fun stunts for Alice to try, and she would always ask him about what he would do in certain scenarios to grasp his moral boundaries.
Leaning on Zeel's shoulder and staring up at the crystal-like stars floating in the empty void of space, Alice had several thoughts running through her mind.
Wasn't she tired of running, searching for nothing, in particular, wandering without purpose?
"Benefits of Humanity's fall number 233: The skies would never look so beautiful in the cities of lights and dreams," Alice joked.
This was an activity the two created as a pass time. They would list all the ways the world improved since humans were no longer in the picture.
"Benefits of Humanity's fall number 234: Sex in the open is no longer considered Public Sex," Zeel replied with a joke of his own as he pushed Alice down, providing a barrage of kisses on her face.

But things didn't proceed any further, Alice asked "Why don't we head to an isolated area? Settle down and have some kids?"
"I don't think we can while the world is like this," Zeel replied in a roundabout manner.
'I never want kids,' he thought internally.
"You always say that same thing; along with the secrets you keep," Alice replied, knowing exactly what Zeel had just whispered in his mind.
Zeel tried to open his mouth to speak but was stopped by a finger.
"Everyone has their secrets; I just hope one day you'll trust me enough to tell me them," Alice said.
"One day very soon I will," Zeel replied as he brushed his fingers through Alice's hair.
"Now let's go for another round," He said smiling fiendishly.
*moans*
*gasps*

Two Months Later
"So another facility down," Alice said with alarms blaring in the background.
They were currently at a black site for the Umbrella Corporation. Zeel and Alice have been doing this for the past two years, Zeel needed to find materials to use in both upgrading the nanites and building a new watch for Alice.
They were forced to travel erratically and stay in satellite dead-zones so the Umbrella Corporation could not find them.
Alice was connected to the satellite, and severing the connection came with great risks.
Zeel had considered destroying the satellite but was not sure how it would affect Alice. The duo came up with a plan to upgrade the nanites so Alice could destroy the satellite herself, or better yet, try to hack its almost impenetrable firewalls.
Zeel was currently looking through a microscope at his and Alice's blood samples on the sliders.
"Yeah. This seems to be the one, I have tweaked the T-virus so much that it is no longer the T-virus, so now I'll name it the Z-virus," Zeel bragged.
Zeel had also been working on changing the T-virus, refining it to get rid of the bad parts and keep the good parts.

After 2 years of research, he had succeeded in improving the virus and getting rid of the negative factors. Today he broke into the facility to viral-out both himself and Alice, making the changes permanent without ever having anything to do with the dangerous T-virus again.
Honestly, Zeel knew that the Z-virus had the same base as the T-Virus so he could not be sure that his tweaking would hold.
"Wow!! From a 'T' to a 'Z'. How awesomely named," Alice joked.
"Well, everything is the same, just we seem to be receiving interference in the form of alpha and beta signals but they're intermittent. Probably has something to do with those nightmares you're having," Zeel said referring to Alice's dream of her dying in The Hive constantly.
"Well enough of that!" Alice said as she walked behind Zeel and wrapped her arms around his waist.
She began kissing his neck and whispering in his ears "I think we should break this facility in like we did with all the other ones,"
"Maybe some other time… Got it!" Zeel said enthusiastically.
"Finally got some satellite codes that are still being used with this we can begin phase 2,"
The Umbrella Corporation had been careful not to leak active satellite codes since Zeel could hack into their satellite transmission.
Luckily, Zeel and Alice took this base before they had a chance to change the codes.
"You mean searching for rare metals and such using umbrella's resources?" Alice asked, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, but first we have to check out a facility, I am getting weird classified blocks from that area. Something tells me we need to go and check out what's happening there," Zeel said, pointing to an isolated desert location.
"Well beats doing more training to control my abilities like we always do," Alice said.
Over time, Alice realized that she had telekinetic powers and Zeel noticed he developed a similar ability to move at subsonic speeds for brief periods of time.
He created a technique 'Four Burst' since he could only do four bursts of speed in two-second intervals. After which, his body could no longer handle it and he had to stop; though if he pushed himself when in a bind, he could do more.
Alice could at most lift 100lbs without straining her ability.
The movements of the weights she lifts can only have two distinguishable patterns. She could push it away, or pull it closer. Alice could do more if she tried but it would lead to massive exhaustion.
"So where are we going next?" Alice asked spinning in her seat for the heck of it.
"This base seems to be conducting experiments in the desert, or rather below the desert. Well, like usual stay in the dead zones and ransack another facility.
We can move within the satellite zones for brief periods but I don't want to take the risk. I don't know if they can find other ways to control you.
The nanites can block only one signal. If it is not the one we calibrate it to, things could get troublesome," Zeel said in a quick mumbling manner.
Alice noticed his tendency to get lost in thought.
"Shush," Alice said while pecking him on the lips "You're rambling again. Keep your mind on the prize or head in the game? I don't know which is the phrase,"
Zeel sighed as he caressed Alice's head, and then he leans his head against hers. It was an action that enhanced their connection.
Alice liked the feelings because sometimes sparks would originate from the location their heads touched.
"Thanks. Let's go after we are finished clearing out this place," Zeel said.
