“What the hell is our leader thinking? Inviting a human kid to join us! He will get himself roasted into a dragon steak!”

Magna Sevel, an elven member of Dragon Hunters could only cringe in disapproval.

In their group, the leader’s decision is the final one.

Even if that decision is ludicrous or crazy at best, and disastrous at worst.

And to make the matters worse, Magna was assigned as Arma’s mentor of sorts, supposedly to teach him the ropes of the trade.

“I will leave the kid in your hands, Magna-kun!” Magna remembered the image of Akara holding a thumb up while essentially pawning off Arma to him.

‘Why me? I may look like this, but I am not a kid!’ as a member of elven race, his age did not match his looks. He may looks like a rather young man barely out of puberty, but in reality, he was older than most members of Dragon Hunters.

‘Still, the kid is not completely hopeless’

Arma learned every skill rather quickly for a human, even if it was just an ordinary task of skinning a chicken or a wild goose or any kind of bird.

‘I did want to see his learning process or at least how fast he learns. It seems he does not have any problem with his willingness to learn’

‘Still, I wonder, what could he be thinking about?’

Magna proceeded to activate his talent, the Mind Gaze.

It allowed him to read the thoughts of others, though only one person at a time.

Magna: ‘Dragons. That’s all he thinks about. Dragons. Every action he takes, no matter how remotely, he will associate with dragons. Is he sane in the head?’

Then he peered a little deeper.

The voice inside Arma’s head kept saying the same thing over and over again.

‘Must consume. Must consume….’

Magna: “What the hell is going on inside that boy’s head?”
