*Interlude*

It is raining in a certain town inside Brahmastra Continent.

The sky is dark and the black clouds are floating above while being accompanied by loud thunder.

Below those clouds, there is a mansion that is completely dark as if no one ever turn on the magic lamps inside the mansion despite the fact that it is currently at night.

Inside one of that mansion's room, Midora Jaeger is standing looking at the corpse of a short blonde-haired teenager girl who got beheaded by Midora's broad sword.

While the body of that girl is lying on the bed, Midora is holding the head of that girl by grabbing her hair. Midora is sitting on the bed besides the beheaded body that is wearing light blue pajamas.

The bed is already stained by the big amount of blood that even touch the left side of the bed where Midora is sitting. However, Midora does not get bothered by it in the slightest.

The only thing that matters to him right now is the head that he is grabbing right now.

Normally, he would smile out of joy whenever he saw a girl in tragic state. However, he just can't bring himself to enjoy this moment like usual.

He is currently in a mission to kill all people of the target noble family. However, he is sure that his ally will able to complete the mission without any issue.

He drops the girl's head to the floor because he lost interest. Then he looks at the dark sky outside of the mansion.

Trying to understand why he lost interest in the only thing that he is enjoying right now, he starts to reminisce about his past.

He used to be a Japanese boy named Tonokatsu Midora, the son of the prestigious company's CEO. His mother passed away right after Midora's birth so his father raised him ever since he was young.

When Midora was in middle school, his father decided to remarry. Even though he can't really accept a new mother at this point, he still somehow wished for his father to be happy. Thus, Midora compromised and let his father's wish got fulfilled.

However, just when Midora thought that the life will start getting more stable. His father lost his life in a car accident 2 years after remarriage. This accident happened when he is in the first year of highschool.

His second mother was also part of the same company that his father is working at. Due to her status in the company, she ended up replacing his father as the CEO.

His life became the one which is similar to the time before his father's remarriage. His mother was too busy to take care of him because she got so much work to do.

He became engrossed in manga, anime, games and other related stuff after his father's death.

He just wanted something to make him forget the reality. Anime platform seemed to be entertaining enough for him to immerse himself into another reality.

Watching anime, buying anime merchandises (including manga and light novels) and playing anime games from his smartphone became part of his daily life.

Slowly but surely, he got over his father's death.

Until one day when he stopped in front of his mother's room at night because he wanted to ask her about the dinner time because it was already 8.00 p.m..

He overheard the conversation of his mother with someone through phone. He suddenly learnt the truth that her mother planned the whole accident to kill his father in order to take over the company. The other person that the mother is talking to sounded like her accomplice.

He quickly went back to his room. He is devastated by the fact that his mother who is supporting him all this time is also the same person who killed his father.

Few minutes after that shocking truth, grudges and other negative emotions towards that woman started to arise within his heart.

But what can he do about it?

Nothing.

He was well aware that he is just a highschooler that is still reliant on his mother's finance.

He can try to expose his mother's crime but people will most likely believe her more than a mere highschooler who does not have any proof.

The only thing that he could do is to pretend to not hear anything and live just like usual.

However, day by day, his grudges against his mother continued to increase. Every time his mother acts kindly towards him, he had to hold back his emotion or else he will attack her out of rage.

In order to calm his emotion down, he became completely engrossed with a certain smartphone anime game which is called Astral Maiden. The reason why he is very interested in that game is because it is his first smartphone anime game that feature himself as a commander of girl fighters defeating female enemies.

The idea of ordering and slaying females made him like that game more and more. It slowly shaped his mind into thinking that females are inferior beings that need to be controlled by him.

He kept focusing on his time on that game so much that he started to neglect his study and other responsibilities.

Other people including his mother started to express their concerns about it. However, he would not paid any attention to them especially to a woman who had killed his father.

One day, Midora got a notification from that smartphone anime game while playing it during school's break time. The notification said whether he wants to be moved to another world with the choices of "Yes" or "No".

Midora did not take it seriously. However, due to how much he loathe his current life full of lies and hatred, he pressed the "Yes" option without much thinking.

Suddenly, he got enveloped by blinding light coming out from his smartphone.

The next thing that he know is that he is in a dark room with rough rocky ground while is still wearing his black school uniform. He looked down and he saw a large magic circle on top of the ground that he is standing at.

Then he noticed a person approaching him. A blue-haired middle-aged man wearing glasses and brown outfit.

"Welcome to our world, Chosen One."

That man quickly introduced himself as Firth Fernandest, the leader of the organization called "Villain's Rebellion".

Firth asked for Midora's name so he gave him the full name he had back then, Tonokatsu Midora.

He explained the reason why he summoned Midora to this world including the state of the world itself. The world Midora was thrown into is called Desparia.

In summary, Firth wanted his power in order to take down the Brahmastra Kingdom who is distorting mankind's sense of value.

Firth then started talking about the details about Brahmastra Kingdom but Midora couldn't care less about it.

The only things that mattered about were the state of his body and the fact that he was no longer on Earth.

He indeed wished to be transported into a different world but he never expected it to truly happened. Thus, he was in the state of confusion even after Firth explained the reasoning behind his summoning.

On top of that, his body felt strange even though he cannot understand why.

Firth then mentioned something that finally caught Midora's attention.

"Also, you should have obtained the special power called Hero System upon arriving here."

"Hero... System...?"

*blink!*

"!?"

Suddenly, a status screen popped up in his vision. He was surprised at first but he finally realized that the status screen is similar to the status screen from his favourite game, Astral Maiden.

Firth noticed the surprised look in Midora's eyes and smiled a bit.

"I guess I talked a bit too much. I'm sure you need some time to put your thoughts together. I already prepare a room for you. We shall talk again after you rest."

While Firth and Midora were walking on a seemingly castle-like hallway with white wall and blue carpet, Midora was checking his status screen:

He then tried to remember and apply his gaming knowledge to his current situation.

What makes this seemingly RPG-like status screen different from other smartphone anime rpg game is how they spell out the rarity of the unit as "Astral Level".

Astral Level/Rarity differentiates the growth rate of a character in Astral Maiden game. The lowest level a character can get is 1 while the highest is 6. The higher the rarity, the higher the increase that they will get from levelling up except MP and LUCK stats.

MP will never increase. Character's MP depends on the Astral Level. The characters always get 1000 MP for each Astral Level they have.

LUCK on the other hand, are stats that will never increase or decrease no matter how high the character's level is.

However, the world that was currently surrounding Midora is nothing like his game.

After looking at his surroundings, he then looked at the first person whom he met right after arriving in Desparia.

*blink!*

"!"

He then suddenly saw a status screen of that blue-haired man.

Name: Firth Fernandest

WARNING: You are unable to view the status of someone whose level is 50 or more above your current level.

A warning popped up much to his surprise. Basically, Firth is someone who is way stronger than him.

Midora never intended to oppose him but he decided to be more careful around him.

After Firth opened the door towards a certain room, Midora saw a medieval-style room with the exception of a magic lamp that was planted on the ceiling. It has wooden bed with fluffy mattress, wooden chair, wooden table and wooden shelf.

"I'm sorry that this is all we can provide you for now."

Firth suddenly apologized much to Midora's surprise.

"No, I don't mind."

Compared to Midora's situation in previous world, being here felt more appealing to him. Therefore, Midora did not mind his current situation at all.

After Midora entered the room, Firth said something before leaving the room.

"This world... is for you to fulfill your own wishes."

"Huh?"

Firth closed the door before Midora could ask what he meant about that.

(... My wish...)

He thought about those words. He should have been satisfied after leaving that crappy world behind.

However, he then remember about how powerless he is in the previous world.

Perhaps... things would be different in this world... is what he thought before he checked more about his status.

"I BEG YOU! PLEASE SPARE MY LIFE!!"

Midora finally agreed to Firth's request and he heard those words during his first mission.

Midora's target was a short blue-haired noble woman who was crying out of fear in front of Midora. According to Firth, that woman who illegally use slavery magic.

Slavery magic is meant to punish criminals and rob them of their freedom so that they do not repeat their offense. That magic that is granted only to influential politic figures.

That woman is one of them but she abused that magic by turning innocent people into slaves and sold them off.

Midora was currently pointing his broad sword that was given by Firth. He changed from school uniform into wearing a light armor made for beginner adventurers.

"H- HOW ABOUT THIS! I'LL PAY YOU! I'LL PAY YOU AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. SO PLEASE SPARE MY LIFE!!"

*swish!*

As the hatred towards the woman reached its breaking point, Midora swung his sword horizontally and beheaded that woman.

*thud!*

Looking at the head of the woman falling to the floor, a smile appear on Midora's face.

A sweet and refreshing feeling of satisfaction washed away all unpleasant feelings in Midora's mind. He didn't know that making a woman suffer can be this exciting and addicting.

From that moment, he decided to change. He left his older self behind and rename himself as Midora Jaeger. The name "Jaeger" was taken from his username in Astral Maiden which is "Jaeger88".

In the span of 2 years after him moving into Desparia, he went various trainings and missions under Firth's request and managed to level up to level 81.

HERO System allows Midora to learn any magic just by seeing them.

The HERO System also gives him magic exclusive for his own use whenever he reaches certain level. For example, he got Physical Nullifer magic when he reached level 40 which completely nullify all physical attacks towards him. Similar thing happened for every 10 levels where he will always get a very powerful magic.

At that point, Midora finally convinced himself that he is in the world of Astral Maiden. He decided to become the hero of this game world and satisfy his urge of making all women suffer.

... or at least, that's what he thought until he met that girl.

Graize Els Shion.

By the time Midora invade the Graize mansion, his appearance already changed a lot.

His short hair turned from black to blue as a side effect of him consuming the flesh of a strong monster called Leviathan Zorthros. That is the only way for him to gain the ability to breathe underwater without using magic.

He already equipped himself with Broad Sword called Desthania which has the ability to slash through any magical barrier.

The chainmail outfit is called Royal Dragon. It was made by the the skins of various dragon monsters which has the ability to control any monster that is weaker than his Astral Level without having to use mana.

Lastly, the metal headband is called Mind Cross. It is a magical item that was made by Firth that enables him to cast telepathy to other people without having to reveal any magic circle and mana usage.

He certainly thinks that no one in this world can oppose him. However, he did not know that he needs more than just making women suffer until he saw Shion.

Shion's face that just fell into despair made him realize that he needs an existence that can satisfy him more.

He saw Shion's status and this is what the status screen displayed:

On the closer look, Midora can view her list of abilities and that's where he knew about Overtake.

A female enemy that is most likely the only person in the whole world who can hurt him.

He realized that one-sidedly trampling women is not enough to satisfy his urge. He needs something else beyond that.

An existence that Midora absolutely loathe and also has a chance to kill him.

With Overtake, Shion has the possibilty to make HERO System completely useless.

Not only that, Shion's expression at that time is by far the most vivid expression of a suffering woman he had ever seen. Other women's expressions seemed shallow to hers. It makes Midora unable to enjoy woman's suffering expressions after that incident.

Thus, he wants to see Shion and that despair expression of his "Destined One" again.

"Graize Els Shion."

He utters that name while still looking at the dark sky outside of the mansion.

"What do you plan to do with her?"

A female's voice interrupts Midora's thought.

Midora looks at the room's entrance. Nelsia Klanjour is already standing there wearing black hood covering her body.

Midora quickly understands that she just finished her mission.

"It's none of your business, woman."

Nelsia furrows her brows. She does not like Midora's attitude but she understand that she won't stand a chance against him.

And then, a small white telepathy magic circles on both Nelsia's and Midora's right ears.

Midora quickly turn his Magic Nullifier off in his mind so that the telepathy go through his mind.

"Good job you two. Now you better leave quickly before the knights arrive."

Firth's calm voice can be heard inside both of Midora's and Nelsia's mind.

"Huh? Why would I leave? I can just kill all those who get in my way."

Midora replies confidently. He is already at the limit of his patience of sneaking around killing noble families in Brahmastra. Firth asked him to not reveal his power carelessly, but he does not see any point in that action.

Seeing his selfish reply makes Nelsia angry.

"! Midora Jaeger! How dare you!"

"What? You wanna fight."

Midora then gives out killing intention while looking at Nelsia.

"Calm down you two. There is also another reason why you better leave that area now."

Firth intervenes before the situation got worse.

Both Midora and Nelsia stops talking in order to hear what Firth has to say.

"You see. I finished analysing the teleportation device in Graize mansion."

"Oh, you mean that machine huh. What about it."

Midora says that with disinterested tone.

"It is called relic. What is this "machine" you are talking about..."

Nelsia starts to get irritated with unfamiliar terms that Midora is saying. This is not the first time that Midora does this and this is one of the reasons why she can't seem to communicate with Midora well.

"A machine is a machine, you idiot. But I thought that device got completely destroyed by that maid in glasses."

"!"

Nelsia realises Midora is referring to Kaina. Nelsia looks away in discomfort.

Firth then replies to Midora's question.

"I manage to at least discover the destination of that teleportation device from the remnants. And most likely... Graize Els Shion used that device to teleport to somewhere in Elverwad continent."

Midora's eyes widens out of surprise.

"Elverwad... you say...!?"

He thought about how he cannot find her no matter how many place he has teleported to.

Midora has the ability to teleport into other continents freely. However, it is still hard for him to search for a little where he does not get any clue on her whereabouts.

Then he quickly open his status screen and open the map section. He points on a point in Elverwad continent that is displayed on his map. Then choices pops up asking whether he wants to teleport there or not. He presses yes.

"!?"

Nelsia quickly recognizes Midora's action in pointing at nowhere as a movement to activate his teleportation.

"Wait! Mido-"

*whoosh!*

Before Nelsia finish her sentence, Midora already teleports away from that mansion.

"... That guy...!"

"Well well, calm down. You know that is just how he is right? More importantly, I need you to prepare on heading towards Elverwad Continent soon. After Denadhor finished his mission, he will need your help."

"... understood. But, are you sure about this? Letting him do as he pleases."

"... In a way, he might be the most fitting person to represent us."

"..."

Nelsia goes quiet since she knows what Firth meant.

"We take the role of villain in order to change this twisted world. That's why we call ourselves..."

Nelsia interrupts Firth's sentence because she knows what he will say.

"Villain's... Rebellion..."
