《True Assassin of Round Table》Investigation in Abellion Hills ( 1 )

After Nash and Agravain entered the forest, what greeted them was the darkness of the forest because the moonlight could not fully illuminate the dense trees.
However, Nash is the embodiment of shadow and darkness itself. As a Phantom, he gained various special skills that exclusive for his race, one of which was Dark Vision.
A passive skill that allows Nash to see in the dark like when he saw during the day. He could see every inch of the forest very clearly.
The more the two of them entered the forest, the air in the forest thinned and that could be felt by Nash and Agravain. They continued to walk in silence until a light suddenly appeared.
It was not moonlight or magic, but it came from a blazing fire. The scent also spread in the air which made Nash and Agravain look at each other.
Nash then jumped up a nearby tree and reached the highest peak so he could see what was happening.
And when he reached the top of the tree, Nash's eyes widened because he saw a forest area a few miles from where he was standing right now engulfed in flames.
The fire was quite large and spread very quickly from one tree to another.
' Forest fires? It seems intentional ... '
Nash still could not see the shadow as a teleportation target because it was quite difficult to seen at night especially in the dense forest.
'Then it's clear there's a bloody battle there. '
After confirming several things, Nash then jumped down from the tree and landed exactly where he was before, in front of Agravain who faithfully waited below.
"What happened, Sir Nash?"
Agravain asked, Nash then looked back slightly and said.
"There is a fairly large forest fire a few miles in the 11 o'clock direction, the fire struck quickly so we must stop it before it burns the whole forest, because it can affect Camelot's future. Let's go."
" Um. "
After that, Nash and Agravain ran towards the fire a few miles away. Both Nash and Agravain, their speed was beyond human reasoning, especially for Nash, he did not even sweat when his speed adjusted Agravain.
That's because, even his current running speed wasn't Nash's full speed, he just adjusted his pace to Agravain.
As an Assassin, Speed, Acceleration, and Agility are the 3 most important factors. As a class that attacks silently and relies on the shock effect of an attack.
Nash relied on one deadly attack and not a protracted attack. Because according to Nash, how great an Assassin is determined by how quickly he can take his target's life.
That is the figure of a true Assassin in Nash's eyes.
***
Meanwhile, as the temperature of the heat in the forest fires, a battle filled with anger and revenge is also ongoing.
A creature with a dark brown body looks roaring with anger, its body is very big and its height reaches 4 meters.
The two wooden horns protruded on his forehead, making him look like someone from the demon race. But actually, the creature was the Leader of the Spriggan Tribes, Beluf Aurax.
Seeing his race slaughtered by the Zoastia race, Beluf was angry and entered into a phase where a Spriggan experienced a significant increase in strength, both in terms of bodily violence, strength, speed and others.
This phase is called Berserk Mode.
The most striking change of a Spriggan who enters that phase is the change in color of their eye crystals, which were originally green to bright red.
Upon entering, this phase of a Spriggan will slowly lose their common sense and be swallowed up by their own anger and instincts.
And will destroy whatever is in their way, be it allies or enemies. Therefore, Berserk mode is a double-edged knife for the Spriggan race itself.
"Get out !!! GET OUT YOU COWARD !!! GET OUT FROM YOUR F***ING HIDING! MUAR!!!"
Beluf shouted the name of one of the fighters from the Zoastia race who was allegedly the mastermind of the Spriggan race attack.
Muar Praxua.
Without him knowing, the person he was looking for was prepared to ambush him from the side. The Zoastia race is a demi-human race that is famous for their physical strength.
Zoastia is generally a carnivore with a Beastman upper body. They are relatives of the centaurs and orthists. They wore plate armor and carried rounded shields.
Zoastia do not have special abilities, but they are heavy cavalry with cruelty and beast power. Only one of them is very strong. However, due to their lack of special abilities, they were unable to fight adventurers who could cast [Flight] spells. However, in head-to-head clashes in battle, even adventurers with orichalcum ranks will have difficulty dealing with them.
But unlike other members of his race, Muar is a special case. He is a guerrilla warrior who flies from shadow to shadow. He fought by surreptitiously.
And his nickname, Black Steel comes from his unwavering will and determination to eliminate the target he has marked.
"All of you will divert the attention of this Big man as long as possible, and when you do it, I will enter his place and take the [Life Encore] that Vijar-sama wants."
The person who spoke was Muar Praxua, one of the strongest fighters from Zoastia Tribes who was the target of Beluf's anger. Like any other Zoastia he has the head of a beast, a tiger, and a very muscular body. His hair is black so he looks like a Black Phanter.
His gaze was firm and sharp, his golden eyes glowing in the dark of the night, he wore a black robe that covered almost his entire body, unlike the other Zoastians, Muar preferred to use two large daggers rather than a sword and shield.
The two daggers were hanging on his back and ready to be pulled at any time. .
[Life Encore] meant by Muar is an Artifact level item which is said to be able to cure all diseases. It is a legacy of the fairies currently owned by the Spriggan race.
'I hope the rumor about the power of the thing called Life Encore is not a mere figment, otherwise Arvati-nee san will ...'
***
A few days before the troops led by Muar began their attack on the Spriggan race.
"Damn !!!"
* Crack *
In a room in a wooden hut, a person from the Zoastia race seemed to destroy a table with his punch.
That person had the appearance of a tiger body with silver hair and a very muscular body, two canines that were as big as a hand coming out of his mouth.
His face looked angry and annoyed, but implied a feeling of hopelessness inside. This man was the ruler of the Zoastian tribe, a very strong warrior and one of the strongest in Abellion Hills.
The person nicknamed the Demon Claw, Vijar Rajandala.
With his hand holding his head, he then sat in a chair and grasped his right thigh, even as he sat the intimidating aura that was emitted by him did not disappear.
"Excuse me, may I come in?"
Hearing a voice from outside, Vijar said quietly.
"Yes, come in."
Then a black Zoastia who wore a black robe entered, that person was Muar, he seemed to be carrying some kind of scroll in his hand.

"How was the negotiation? Did you convince them to exchange Life Encore for money?"
Hearing Muar's question, Vijar's face turned ugly, he then shook his head and cursed.
"Those bastards remain firm in their stance not to sell Life Encore. You rotten old wood !? If only we weren't in an alliance, I would have destroyed their fragile body!"
Vijar spits on the floor to vent his frustration. Seeing that there was no other choice but to fight, Muar said.
" Why not? "
"Huh !? What do you mean?"
"Why don't we just attack their territory, and then take the Life Encore stored in their place."
"Eh ... Muar, is this really you !?"
"Huh !? It's me, so what?"
"No, it's just that you don't usually take the initiative to attack other races, what's up? Did your head hit something?"
Hearing that, Muar just sighed. He realized that he was a quiet person and rarely spoke. And also almost never took the initiative to expand the area by attacking other races.
But this time it was a special case. This is a different matter.
"Is there really another way to save my sister? You must remember that she is your wife too, don't you want to save her !?"
Vijar looked at Muar firmly before putting his hand on his chin.
"But, in terms of their numbers far more than us, especially if they are in Berserk mode. If we suppose that one of our troops can defeat a Spriggan in its Berserk Mode, then logically we will not win, I cannot leave my wife at this time then how? "
The atmosphere became quiet because of Vijar's murmur, before Muar stepped forward and gave Vijar the scroll he had previously held.
Seeing Muar's actions, Vijar raised his eyebrows.
" What is this? "
"Open it."
After hearing Muar's answer, Vijar then untied the scroll and opened it. And when he saw the contents of the scroll, his eyes widened.
"This, fire magic scrolls?"
" You're right "
"What do you want-"
Vijar then stops when he realizes the plan Muar will make to steal Life Encore from Spriggan race.
He then smiled cruelly and looked at Muar with a frightening look.
"You want to burn them."
" Yes. "
Muar just answered with a flat face. Vijar then laughs very loudly before suddenly stopping and his expression returns to serious.
"Then, you bring as many troops as you want, and take the Life Encore from them !!!"
"Roger that."
***
Hearing their leader's words, 10 people from Zoastia who were waiting for Muar's orders only nodded. Although impressed rash and reckless, but Muar only brought 10 soldiers from the Zoastia race to attack the entire Spriggan race.
That was because the attack plan he had compiled relied on efficiency rather than quantity, even Vijar considered Muar's decision to be very risky.
However, Muar managed to convince him and let him go with 10 troops.
"Now!"
With that one word, the 10 people then drove towards the raging Beluf that destroyed everything around him.
"RAAAAGGHHH !!!"
His roar sounded very loud and tense. And when the 10 Zoastians entered his view.
Beluf increasingly lost control.
"I'll kill you, Zoastian!!!"
And, then thick and sharp roots emerged from all of Beluf's body and tried to stab the Zoastians who attacked Beluf.
* Crack *
* Crack *
However, the Zoastian warrior was not an amateur, fighting against the Beluf alone was an easy job for them.
However, Muar had told them that it was impossible for all Spriggan races to die, so the ten of them had to kill Beluf as soon as possible.
And with the opportunity given by his soldiers to him, Muar slipped into the cave where Beluf lived, without even realizing that Beluf's subordinates were still watching the battle between his master and the warriors of Zoastia Race.
But, unnoticed by everyone, there are currently two figures watching them from behind the darkness.
Above a large tree branch, Nash and Agravain stood watching the battle situation between Spriggan and Zoastia.
Seeing a race that was very foreign and he had never seen before, Nash tilted his head, he knew about Spriggan because it was in Yggdrasil, but for Zoastia.
'What kind of race is that? Are they Beastman or something? I've never seen it at all. '
Nash then saw one of the foreign races entering the Cave quickly and undetected. Seeing that, Nash then gave Agravain a code.
"Looks like there is a thief who sneaked secretly, I'll go follow him and you guard the entrance"
Agravain just nodded, and followed the instructions Nash gave, while Nash, he had already teleported to the shadow in the cave.
***
"Where are you, Life Encore ..."
Muar moves cautiously when he is in the cave, he does not want to be caught in a trap and die silly. Check every inch of the dark cave to find the whereabouts of the item he is looking for.
Muar was quite surprised because he thought this was just an ordinary little cave, but it didn't seem that simple.
'The structure of this cave is too complicated to just be used as a place to live even for chiefs ...'
As Muar said, the structure of the Spriggan cave is very complicated, the winding and up and down corridors, the size is also smaller and enlarged, very strange.
Muar continued to search and walked in through the cave, with no sign to give up, and after a while, he saw a faint green light from the end of the road he was passing.
"That light ..."
Without wasting time, Muar immediately ran and in an instant arrived, he then entered carefully into the green light that seemed to look like the cubicle.
And when he entered, he saw an oddly shaped object placed in a kind of stone right in the middle of the room.
However, the green light that illuminated the room did not originate from that object, but rather objects embedded in the walls of the room.
When he saw it, Muar's eyes widened in surprise.
"Th-this."
The objects are hexagon-shaped green crystals that emit a little light, but what surprised Muar was not that, but what was in the crystals.
Inside the crystal, can be seen clearly the body of a race that is said to have gone extinct hundreds of years ago.
"F-fairy !?"
Muar could not contain his surprise, the number of fairies in the crystal was hundreds.
However, as a veteran warrior, Muar was immediately awakened, and he returned his focus to the strange-shaped object that was in the middle of the room.
'Looks like it's Life Encore. '
After making sure that there were no traps in this room, Muar then carefully walked to the center of the room. He then observed the object in the middle, and the conclusion in Muar's mind was ...
'Fruit? '
The thing that was supposed to be Life Encore was shaped like an apple, but with a dark green color and there was a kind of strange carving around it.
Muar lifted the fruit carefully so as not to destroy it, there was no special feeling when he lifted it, just like when he lifted ordinary apple.
"Is this really Life Encore?"
"I suppose, yes."
"That's it, then I'll-"
When he realized that there was a voice answering his question, Muar widened his eyes in surprise.
' Who is that!!? How could I not realize that !? '
Muar was surprised, because as an Assassin and a Warrior who fought clandestinely, it became a necessity for Muar to have high life instincts and detection capabilities.
However, someone had just slipped behind him and he could not even feel anything until that person spoke in his ear.
Muar had never met a situation that horrified him like he was now. Being killed by the way he killed someone else was a nightmare for Muar.
However, he saw the black blade of a dagger had stuck to his neck, ready to cut his neck at any time.
"You, since when!! ..."
The person behind Muar at this time was Nash, since Muar entered the cave, he had followed him using one of the special skills of his robe.
Nash's robe is one of 200 World Items in Yggdrasil, Phantom of the Opera.
Phantom of the Opera is an World item in the form of a cloak in dark black and purple which can make its users have absolute invisibility and anti-detection capabilities.
That is, users of the Phantom of the Opera will become invisible and not detected by any detection magic during the activation of the skill. Of course, users of this World item will be able to be seen or detected by Other World Items with a detection type.
And that possibility is almost zero, that's what made Nash the Player with the strongest Assassin-based job in Yggdrasil.
Because in addition to Job Class and Race, he also has items that are very suitable for the class. Of course the Stealth and Anti-detection skills have duration and cooldown, otherwise Nash will be truly invincible.
However, the duration of use and cooldown time was only known by Nash alone.
"Ever since you entered this cave ..."
"W-what !!!?"
Muar currently really does not know what to do, he does not want to take the risk to run because he believes the man behind him now can cut off his head in a very fast time.
His instinct told him to be quiet and not do anything reckless. Actually, Muar was not at all afraid if he had to die here, now. However, he did not want his sister to die too because he could not bring the medicine she needed.
Then, the voice of the man behind him came again.
"Well, I don't intend to kill you or anything, I just want to have a little talk with you."
"Talk?"
"That's right, sit down."
Nash then pulled his dagger from Muar's neck and he then sat on the floor of the cave cross-legged. Nash's attitude made his defense very open, and Muar was sure he could kill the young man in front of him at this time.
However, his body could not move, an instinct that he had honed for years said not to try things in front of this man and sat down as he said.
Surprisingly, Muar then obeyed and sat in front of Nash. However, his gaze slightly glanced at the exit of the room, and it could not be separated from Nash's view.
"Don't worry, I already told my friend to guard the outside door."
Muar's mind was read perfectly by Nash, and he could only remain obediently in front of Nash.
Nash, then looked into Muar's eyes sharply, and said.
"So, let's start ... some offers that I will make to you."
Nash's words made Muar's expression change, and the smile behind Nash's hood was a sly smile.

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.
