《Pandora's Game》Prologue: How long has it been?

"...How long has it been...?"

A voice whispers this in the darkness. It was a female voice, but there was something about the way it spoke. The voice was strained, low, and mechanical. As the seconds past by, the silence was her only response. The voice lets out a low grunt, groaning. A loud creak echoed through the air, a figure pulling at her limbs. The figure is encased in an open capsule. Standing on two legs, the moving being in question has the same structural design as a female human. To a certain degree. Her arms forcibly pull at the wires that connected her to the capsule. With enough force, she frees one arm from the encasement. Pulling her upper body forward, she cracks her neck from side to side. Using her free hand, she unplugs the large wires from her upper back. There was a pause in her action once she removes the third and fourth wire. Purple eyes lock onto her arms before it shifts into a red hue. Processing everything, and waking up, she slowly recalls her current state. Her mind snaps her back into reality.

She was an abomination. Something that blasted woman did to her. The memories...

Grasping her head, she yells in anger. This was no normal screech, shattering several glass items within the area. Furious at her awakening, she violently yanks the wires off of her. Sparks ignited from such a force along with some liquid bursting from these long tubes. Ignoring them, the woman steps out of the capsule, shaking off any residue. Glancing over her shoulder, the capsule was a cruel reminder of her imprisonment. No, it was not a prison. The woman who placed her here used it for her transformation. Her own house, to put it in simple terms. A temporary home. Yes, a temporary home that was a special lab. Was this truly her -the figure that stands in this very room- home? No. The bastardly woman gave this to her. This very room was where she slept for- How long...?

How long has it been since that dreadful event?

How long has she been asleep?

How long was...

So many questions, yet no one was here to answer them. The lab is abandoned, leaving behind test tubes, datasheets, computers, chemicals, and other things. Yet none of this mattered. It was good that the place was empty. The figure wanted to release her anger.

"Pandora..." If that being never showed up, if she was a myth, things would have been normal. She wouldn't have changed. She wouldn't have felt excruciating pain. No, this hellish pain that gnaws at her insides is her sin. Tears start to roll down her face as she yells into the darkness once more. Unable to stay still, she punches and kicks the space around her. Tables were smashed into bits, chairs were crushed, torn apart, or tossed about. Electronic devices of all sorts were damaged beyond repair from her frenzy. Books and papers scatter through the air as the violent maelstrom rips through them with her sharp fingers. Crashing sounds echo through the empty room, breaking everything that she can get her hands on. Unable to control the gathering energy around her, it burst out of her body, blasting everything away. If the computer was beyond repairs, they were unrecognizable once they hit the walls. Her eyes dart around the room, trying to find something else to destroy, but her mind tugs on the bitter memories of the dead.

Her sadness finally engulfs her. Falling onto her knees, the creature lets out a cry. She moves her hands to her face, weeping at the loss of her happiness.

She lost her comrades, her friends. She lost the peace that her group has established.

And she lost the love of her life.

"C-Can I..." Filled with remorse, she tries to grab at the empty air, trying to grasp at the light that she once saw.

The woman held her breath, staring at the screen. Frowning, the creature recalls this blasted screen. It was the same screen that started it all. Various emotions flooded her mind, curling her hands into a fist. Ignoring the negative emotions, especially her wrath and hatred, this seems like a rare opportunity. An opportunity to reminisce about her past once more- she shouldn't. Looking back into her old life will harm her. Most likely. The pain will engulf her again. Not taking her eyes off the screen, her finger hovers over the [No] option. Thinking about it a couple more times, she was going to hit it. Before the touch can be registered, she stops herself.

Will she have the time to sit down and look back on everything ever again? This seems like a one-time thing. She can remember the details in her head. She can pull it up anytime, but...

The screen before her will be able to replay EVERY EXACT detail. It would be like watching a movie. Pondering on the thought, she gives in to her selfish desires.

The world is in ruins. Everything turned to shit. There is no rush- no one is waiting for her. It might be a decade since she was put to sleep.

The world can wait for her...

She will get her revenge, but not right now.

Clicking on [Yes], she sits down against a wall, closing her eyes.
