chapter 5 : Labyrinth ( part 2 )
Night time, Village of Perdulin, Lonely Man's Tavern
A man was siting alone on a table, lined with a number of empty alcohol bottles, he was around 28 years old but his unkept face would decieve other people into thinking that he was 35. his once, clean cut blonde hair is no longer, and what remained was but a shadow of its former glory. The young man was heavily burdened in life with the loss of his only child and his wife unable to concieve another, and the fact that she too may follow their son very soon. He was lost, contemplating on what might happen if someday it would all be gone. Gavin was a Rank C adventurer, he tried everything in his power to improve himself by training in the way of the sword and studying some simple offensive magic, but sadly no matter how hard he tried, Rank C was his only limit, he had wanted to push further but that would eventually endanger his life and he was afraid of what will happen to his wife if he suddenly died. Unable to provide his wife with the best things that money could buy and failing to uphold his promise to give her the life that she deserves. All that he could do was drink his troubles away.
Gavin: " ( Burp! ) hik.... ahe ahehe, you know what? I'm really thankful for you guys to hik.... to come and listen to my stories... of hik..... Gavin the strongest Adventurer! ( talking to the bottles infront of him, reflecting his image. )

Gavin: " Im fine Darus, thanks.....
Darus: " Great! on to business then! ( he shouted ) me and my group plan to enter the Labyrinth tomorrow. I was thinking if maybe you would like to join us? this could earn you some of your keep, good enough to last a couple of weeks give or take. I know your down and all that but doing nothing isn't gonna solve your problems. might as well be productive. I'll be paying you 1 gold piece in advance and another piece after the job is done. what do you say? I plan on taking you guys on the third level and I need strong able men.

Gavin: " I'm in! I just need to prepare some of my stuff and........ wait ( looking for the girl he was talking to earlier )
Darus: " Something wrong Gavin?
Gavin: huh? no..... its nothing, never mind, here have some of these.....,
as the night becomes darker, and darker the young man and his company enjoyed the booze and food laid on top of the table. Laughing and exchanging stories of past glory, sharing jokes, and singing songs and talking about plans for tomorrow and letting their problems drown in Beer. Neglecting the fact that this day may well be their last,
"
"
on the empty road...... a young girl looks back at the Lonely Man's Tavern
"
Aria: " ............. Enjoy the food and drinks Gavin, I paid for it...........
Aria: " lonely man's tavern huh? ....... they should really change that sign board.......
Aria: " ( sigh.... )
"
* step step step * sfx
"
Aria: " remember to kiss your wife goodbye...........
"
"
as the young girl vanishes into the night, a black phantom can be seen flying in the sky.... its golden eyes flickering, watching.......waiting..........

Sod's Law (Dropped)
This fiction has been dropped, you're more than welcome to read it anyway (there is sort of an ending). But you have been warned... Sod's law is a more extreme version of Murphy's law. While Murphy's law says that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong (eventually), Sod's law requires that it always goes wrong with the worst possible outcome. For example, concepts such as "bad fortune will be tailored to the individual" and "good fortune will occur in spite of the individual's actions" are sometimes given as examples of Sod's law in action. This would broaden Sod's law to a general sense of being "mocked by fate". In these aspects it is similar to some definitions of irony, particularly the irony of fate. - Definitions of Sod's Law on Wikipedia. The protagonist, as many before them, and many who followed, thought they were just entering a VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing-Game). Unbeknownst to them however, was a short paragraph in the Terms & Conditions, that, upon agreement, would actually transport them to a fantasy world, loosely based on the game they thought they were entering. - Something anyone could be forgiven for, no-one reads them after all. In this new world, they discover that people are born with “Traits”, a System recognised, ability, skill, or talent, that they are born with. Sod's Law was not a trait they, or anyone else for that matter, would want. Pure madness follows. Yup, this is about a character transferred to a fantasy game-world with the worst luck imaginable. This is my first fiction so I apologise for any grammar and spelling mistakes that may be made. Hopefully it is readable, and if so please tell me! But if it's not, also tell me, but in a constructive way if at all possible? Due to the nature of the “Trait” the story will be dark in places, with plenty of gore and profanity, hence the tags. There may also be scenes of a sexual nature, but nothing full on – sorry guys but you'll have to go elsewhere for that.
