Headlights flashed brightly on a deserted street. A red Maserati GranTurismo tore through the lane, 40 mph over the speed limit. Staff Sergeant Michael Kahale's knuckles trembled on the wheel with every heavy pant. His vision focused on random things, flickering from the dark shadows of the trees to the dusky reflection of the review mirrors. The dashboard told that it was 1:12 A.M. Outside, beasts howled in their hunt, and a car was tailing him. His hands shook as he fumbled for his cell phone and dialed a number.
"Come on, come on. Pick up!"
"Um, h-hello?" A groggy voice asked.
"Annabeth!"
"Michael, is that you? What's wrong, your voice..."
"Annabeth, help them!"
"Where are you? What's going on?"
"I'm in D.C., and I don't have time. I trust you. Just don't blame-"
The driver cursed as the sports car plowed over the curb.
"Michael? You're not making sense. What's happening?"
"I'm-"
Tires screeching cut him off. A gunshot.
The red Maserati crashed into a lamp post. The airbags deployed but were destroyed and joined the wreckage. The cell phone tumbled on the passenger seat, and blood sprinkled on its screen. A car zoomed away.
"Michael, what was that? Michael? Michael!"

Cinder Souls II
Dark Souls is known as one of the hardest game series to have ever existed and with the third installment of Dark Souls, being Dark Souls 3, the makers of the game decided to not make another. With the licensing of the game being put into limbo, a game company called Virtual World decided to buy the right to make another game in the series, this game was called Cinder Souls. Something was different about this game compared to the rest of the series and that was it is on the World Gear, a device that put your consciousness inside of the game and gave you complete control of your character's body. This game exploded and sold over 5 million copies in the first week since it had something other games didn't. Freedom. You could do 18+ actions, take over kingdoms, destroy guild bases entirely, and even rob NPCs. Of course there are laws in certain areas that prohibited certain actions but that all depended on what guild was in control of the land you are at. There are 4 continents with there being several countries dividing each continent into different sections and each having their own difficulties. The strongest continent of them all is Land of the Gods, which only the most legendary of players can enter and become apart of. It is a small island which only has 10 inhabitants but these 10 people could easily take over any other continent on the planet but decide to lay dormant on the island, waiting for something strong to spice up the game. Each of these 10 players is considered a God in the game and even have their own following base. Each God had major influence over the millions of other players in the game but that was all in the past. Now it is time for an update, a completely new world with new enemies and new beginnings for all and that update is coming soon. Its supposed to arrive in one day in fact. This update would have new quests and new adventures and the game title will be changed to Cinder Souls II, whether you kept your character or not is unknown but what was known was that the real world was excited for this. Since it was an update, you didn't have to repurchase the game so old players began to dust off their old copies and prepare for the copious amounts of fun in store for them. This story follows one of the best players to have ever graced the game, Frew, the God of Miracles, and his new adventures but it is not as expected. The issue is she isn't good at anything, but she catches the eye of a master of magic, he thinks she might be one of the fabled Protectors the ones that would save them from the coming destruction. But Umbra isn't the hero everyone wants her to be. Updates will at least one chapter every two days. Notable Location Poliagoras. Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.
