《The Planetfall Generation》Ordinary Day

The five of the scouting group had slept well. A deep and refreshing sleep gave the energy to enjoy life.
Yesterday's chaos seemed far away and Fi decided to take everything one step at a time. She put on another jumpsuit and to her surprise, it was tighter than before.
She had gained some muscle in this short time. Most of it must have come from the awakening of abilities, which steered some of the energy into her muscles, strengthening them.
Fi adored the reflection in the mirror. She was more toned and her behind was more pleasing. A light slap on it later, giggling she left the shelter.
By the recycling unit sat the four others. Robin was stretching and doing some vocal warm-ups.
Blue was cleaning her gun slowly, her gaze somewhere far away.
In Sawyer's hand was the Cracklefluffs teeth which he was examining in a great detail. Behind Sawyer stood Loa with one hand on Sawyer's shoulder.
Noticing Fi approaching Loa smiled and waved her big hand.
"Good Morning Fi, did you sleep well?" Loa said creakingly. She had a wider more stocky body.
Fi smiled back and took a plate of breakfast. Today they had cooked eggs which tasted wonderful.
"Did you find you these eggs Loa?" Fi asked with her mouth full. Loa scrunched her brows when the mass of white and yellow in Fi's mouth jumped around.
"Do not chew and speak please, it is not civilized," Loa said and shook her head.
"I found them fifteen kilometers west. There is a big fallen tree that is the nest for thousands of birds." Loa then continued with her creaky voice slowing down the further she spoke.
Octo was looking at Loa curiously with his tilted head. A sound akin to a humph escaped from Octo. It turned away and didn't face Loa.

Fi didn't pay any heed to the octopus on her shoulder and continued enjoying the eggs.
Breakfast was finished and everyone split into their respective mission groups. Fi with Loa, Blue with Robin and Sawyer alone, just like always.
Loa led them westwards towards the nest area of the birds. They were to gather a few eggs and see to see if it was possible to make this gathering of eggs a sustainable activity for a greater group of people.
After some traveling and training of skills, they arrived at the big fallen tree. The tree trunk was ten meters thick and close to a hundred in length, it was massive in stature and a hundred birds was a gross underestimation.
There were at least thousands of different birds here. The only thing that worried Fi was since most of the things on the island were quite strong, something had to keep the stronger monsters from feeding on this place.
Fi took the lead and led them in caution forward, inch by inch. Loa pointed at a big rock with thick vegetation. Leading them to the rock Fi summoned the water from her water bottle having it having it spin around her hand.
Loa raised her eyebrows and whispered at Fi.
"Why aren't you storing the water in your inner crystal?" Loa said touching Fi on the right shoulder, right above the crystal.
Fi concentrated and the water in her hands slowly was absorbed. It moved through the crystalline structure in her body finding its way to the inner crystal. A small drop of water appeared inside of the crystal, she could feel its presence.
"That was great advice, thank you so much," Fi said bowing her head. She was relieved she didn't have to carry a dunk of water everywhere she went. This was more in line she wished it would work.

"No problem, sorry I didn't come to think of it earlier," Loa said her voice betraying no emotion. Loa sat on her knees peering over the bush. She was watching the tree and its inhabitants.
Fi grew silent and watched the tree too, recording every second of it.
They spent the rest of the day looking at it. The two of them had a few guesses as for how it thrived. One option, that there was something poisonous with the foliage growing on the tree trunk.
Another option, where the big hole they saw on the tree was the sleeping position for a bigger and stronger creature. With no clear idea what the danger here was, Fi decided not to take anything from the tree and hunt something on the way back.
The two arrived at the camp as the last ones and shared their findings. The map had been updated again and everything around them was becoming clearer.
Fi hugged Blue when she heard Blue had finally gained her powers too. Happiness on both their faces evident. The only problem was she didn't know what her powers were yet. They could only be found out if the right time presented itself.
She was a bit more powerful now overall with the help of k20 energy and could be more accurate with her shots. Their team was finally ready, with all five members having gained their powers.
It was time to venture to the Ice Tree and clear that place out from trouble. There had to some good materials there, maybe even something really rare. This was the time to take advantage of their early arrivals and gain as much power as they could.
The five went to sleep in their respective quickshelters and bid to go the first thing in the morning.
With an hour of yoga, Fi was completely relaxed and ready to drift away to the land of dreams.
The morning sun woke the group. Today everyone except Sawyer had eaten breakfast. He was the last to exit his shelter, a groggy expression on his face, eating a hearty breakfast.
Sawyer finished his food and spoke up.
"Are all five of us ready to go?" Sawyer said and hoisted his backpack on. The group nodded and took their own equipment. Robin was the only one startled.
"Five of us?" Robin asked with one eyebrow raised. The two women realized it too but thought he misspoke.
"I was sure there were five of us, I must still not have woken up," Sawyer said scratching his head. The four of them laughed and left for the tree of ice.

Viceroy's Pride
This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. This is NOT a harem novel. Nothing against them, just not what it is. --------- Updates Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday Feel free to bother me on our discord- Discord!

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
