Chapter 1: An Incomprehensible Play
........
The warm sun shone upon a certain house, an exquisite stone wooden house in the middle of the world's child, nature.
The peaceful house was surrounded by vegetation and trees from several sides, leaving a magnificent view of a green forest extending as far as the eyes can see.
The house was high up on a hill which allowed it to look down on all of its surroundings, having a phenomenal view of the beauty of nature.
The peacefulness of the elegant house was complemented by the sound of nature. The chirping of birds, and the faint wind, the slight movement of the trees, their branches and leaves.
The place was unbelievably peaceful, but its history is anything but that. Its history is captivating though one could argue a better word for it would be horrifying.
The house owner was within it, peacefully lying on a large violet bed.
He looked quite sickly, skinny, and incredibly pale, yet the peaceful expression on his face made sure to let anyone looking at him that he cares not, seemingly indifferent to his fate.
There was someone else in the room, a beautiful mature woman lying on the bed with her head on his chest, her silky brown hair splattered all over his chest.
The two were serene as if nothing can affect them, as if even the crumbling of society and the fall of meteors won't make them bat an eye... One of the previous was destined to happen soon.
It was a while before the middle-aged man opened his eyes. His sickness made him look a bit older than he truly is.
He looked down at the still sleeping woman and started caressing her beautiful silky hair.
It is still fascinating to him how she behaves like an innocent kitten with him while outside she's known as the personification of the devil himself, but then he remembers it's all his doing, so he naturally takes it for granted.
He closed his eyes for a bit before opening them again and letting out a sigh of annoyance.
That's something he's been doing quite a lot, feeling his body deteriorating day by day, getting weaker and weaker, closer and closer to death's door.
He wasn't afraid of death, not at all. He simply hates the concepts of death and weakness... when applied to him of course.
"Mm... Good morning." His thought process was interrupted by the woman's mumbling as his gentle caressing woke her up.
"Good morning." The man gently responded with a smile and without stopping his caressing.
And as he said, like an innocent kitten, she snuggled even closer to him with a silly smile on her face.
The man on the other hand diverted his attention to another thing, a bottle of pills on a small table next to the bed.
He took it into his hand and looked at the white pills within, exactly what he needs to get rid of his annoyance. permanently.
The mature woman who closed her eyes in enjoyment of his caresses; suddenly opened her eyes feeling his movement.

Her eyes landed on the bottle of pills though there was no change in expression looking at it.
She just watched as he brought a few pills from the bottle and took them without a second thought then he closed his eyes and enjoyed the tranquility of his home.
She watched all of this without stopping him, knowing that he already made up his mind a long time ago.
So she just went along with it all and enjoyed his caresses.
She never truly understood him but at least, she understands his current decision.
She was having a hard time just keeping her current pent-up emotions within.
Every day she feels like she's but a step away from going crazy and unleashing all that insanity upon the world. A world where such a thing happening to him shouldn't exist.
Her thoughts were interrupted hearing his calm voice, hearing the words coming out of his mouth.
You see, even after following him for close to two decades, she still knows very little about him.
He's just that way, a private person that shares little to nothing about himself and what he thinks.
So one can imagine her surprise when she heard his strange words that did very little to unveil his mysterious past and what made him who he is today.
"I never really thought I'd spend the last moments of my life in here of all places."
The man spoke calmly while laying his gaze on the open window in the room, allowing the sun to illuminate them both and giving a beautiful view of the magnificence of life.
Then he laid his eyes upon the brown wooden floor of the bedroom, "Clean and peaceful... I like it. A bit different than back then but that in itself makes it perfect."
The woman listened attentively to his rumbling but she couldn't help herself from wondering when she noticed his following silence.
"How was it? Your childhood?" She wondered, hopeful he'll answer her.
She has always wondered how someone so perfect could exist but she kept it to herself.
And now that he's at the final moments of his life, she couldn't mask that curiosity anymore.
Provided he may not be as perfect as she thinks he is but if there is any imperfection, she saw none of it.
Then again, she has a quite twisted and biased point of view so even if there is any imperfection, she'll just see it as perfection.
"Hmm... My childhood huh?" The man mumbled in reminiscence of his past.
"I guess I should tell you a bit about it... It was interesting, to say the least... In a good way though I'm sure anyone in my stead would beg the difference."
"It was exactly the kind of childhood I needed though I have a few complaints about it..." At this point, it appeared as if he was talking solely to himself, reminiscing his life.
He raised his brow as a smile of amusement surfaced on his pale face, seemingly remembering something nice... Until the following bizarre words came out of his mouth that says otherwise.

"I hated the blood and the other things... They were disgusting and I hated disgusting things with passion since my early conscious days."
"However, everything else was fascinating. It certainly spurted unending curiosity and fascination in me."
He remained silent for a bit before looking at the woman in his arms, "Is there something else you want to know? I still have a few minutes."
Hearing that, her eyes shone with happiness and obsessiveness as she snuggled into him even more.
He might not have told her much before but that was enough for her. Moreover, she intercepted quite a bit of information just from those few words alone.
"What about your parents? How were they like? Were they responsible? For the blood and the other things I mean."
The feeble man gently nodded, still calm as if the past can't put any change in his expression.
"They are... They were a bit crazy I guess, well, a bit crazier than most crazy people and they wanted me to be just as crazy as them."
Amidst his reminiscence, his smile of amusement only grew bigger as he remember more and more of his life.
He appeared to be entertained, seemingly watching an entertaining work of art as if watching something foreign to him, not his own life.
"Is that how you became what you are today?" She curiously wondered.
According to what he said, she imagined they had a similar childhood where they were introduced to the darkness of humanity too early.
But with a difference, he liked his childhood while she didn't, in fact, she almost killed herself many times because of it and she would've if he didn't take her in.
"I'd like to say it didn't but it had a certain effect in shaping how I am today though I kept it to a minimum."
"It mostly helped me in having a neutral point of view of the world until I understand how it works but I know I was a strange kid to begin with, after all..."
After a brief moment of silence, he continued.
"very few would be able to stay sane after going through what I went through, but then again, I thought it was entertaining so I'm probably already insane."
He couldn't help but let out a small laugh after saying that and the woman did the same, "If you're insane then no one in the world is sane."
She understood him the most in this world and she could usually pick up his not so obvious sarcasm and jokes.
"How was the journey?" The man gently asked without halting his caressing.
"I loved it... A lot." She calmly answered desperately trying to hide her emotions and how hard this was for her.
'I enjoyed it too much... way too much to the point that I never want it to end.'
She closed her eyes ruminating to herself until he hugged her even tighter and gently said, "You can cry... as much as you like. You know you don't have to act like that with me, right?"
She couldn't help but tremble hearing his words. She buried her face in his chest and cried to her heart's content.
He on the other hand just kept hugging then used his other hand to pat her.
She'd normally be embarrassed by this point but considering the circumstances, she just didn't care about anything else.
"Well, don't be so sad now, this isn't the end of the road now, is it?" The man added after a while while she rightfully confused wondered, "It isn't?"
"Of course it isn't. You see, there is a wonderful place called hell and we'll surely go there. So you know, we can meet up and perhaps take over it? I'd say it's a good step up from this world."
He seemed to be serious as he spoke calmly with a contemplating face.
This is a not so rare sight of one of the man's forth, the art of nonsense, something she knows about yet it always works.
"Pfft! Hahahaha hahaha..." She simply couldn't hold it in and let out a hearty laugh, "I'm looking forward to it."
She was only able to collect herself a few minutes later as she noticed he closed his eyes and became completely motionless.
It took her all her strength not to break down crying again as she started caressing his cheek, "I really can't. It appears that hell will have to welcome me sooner than you thought."
She then turned her attention to the bottle of pills on the exquisite black table.
She repeated what he did and took the pills while muttering to herself, "Or perhaps you expected this and that's why you left the bottle in plain view..."
She closed her eyes and laid her head on his chest then drifted into the lands of dreams... or death.
However, what she didn't know is that only about an hour passed after her death before the house evaporated from existence and the source of such an incident?
It was none other than the house itself, specifically a bomb the owner's house planted in a hidden location simply because he didn't want anyone to find his remains.
As for the woman? Of course, he knew what she'd do, he had a large part in creating her after all and shaping her to become who she is today.
Hid legacy? He has none, even with the incomprehensible amount of power he had over the world, very few knew of him and none knows his name.
He had absolutely no desire to leave an heir thus his name died there, becoming unknown... Or so he thought.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
