Chapter 20: Mortal King White Devil!
Blacky, Raven and Old Man Black were headed towards Tifili Village. The sun had yet to rise.
When they arrived at the village gates they saw a dense crowd packed outside. Most of these people were from nearby villages and cities. Even though it was early in the morning, there was still a large amount of people gathered here.
Raven was in the lead. Instead of standing in que he walked towards a guard. The guard respectfully greeted Raven, his eyes paused momentarily on Blacky and Old Man Black. Without saying much he let the trio enter the village.
As they walked on the streets some people would point at Blacky, whispering. Old Man Black appeared to be fairly well known as well. These two weren’t known for being good people. Raven however seemed unknown.
Other than the villagers there was a large amount of travellers, the streets were bustling with activity. This was because the tournament was today. It was well known that mortal kings would be appearing at this grand event.
After walking for a while the trio arrived at the bounty hunter association. The door had a ‘not in service’ sign hanged on it.
Raven pulled out a set of keys, he unlocked the door and smiled at Blacky, indicating him to enter.
Blacky took the lead entering. The first thing he noticed was Eryx smiling at him from the side.
Eryx bowed respectfully when he saw Blacky. “Young master Blacky, long time no see!”
Blacky was slightly surprised with Eryx’s behaviour. When they previously met he didn’t treat him so well. However with his current strength this behaviour was acceptable. Raven must have informed some matters to Eryx beforehand.
Blacky smiled slightly, he replied with a slight bow. “Senior Eryx, there’s no need for this.”
Eryx didn’t directly reply, he just chuckled and shook his head.
Raven and Old Man Black entered as well.
Eryx hurriedly bowed towards the two. “Branch Head. Sir Black.”
Raven was used to Eryx’s behaviour. He simply nodded leading Blacky and Old Man Black to a table to sit.
Raven sat down feeling slightly nervous.
Eryx stood by the side of the table looking like a butler. He filled up three cups with tea.
“Eryx, is he coming?” Raven looked at Eryx as he spoke.
Eryx replied respectfully. “Yes sir, Master White Devil said that he will arrive here soon.”
Eryx called White Devil master due to him being the leader of the bounty hunter association. Not only Eryx, but Blacky, Raven and Old Man Black had to call him master.

Raven glanced at Blacky and Old Man Black. “When Master White Devil appears here, be sure to be respectful. Old Man it’s best you don’t even open your mouth. Blacky you should only talk to him if he asks you a question.”
Old Man Black snorted. “I know!”
Blacky simply nodded his head. Although his strength had made large improvements, he was nothing to a mortal king.
The trio silently sat down enjoying the tea served by Eryx.
After an hour passed the door was knocked on.
The trio all shot up to their feet. The three men all stood respectfully by the side of the door.
Raven nodded towards Eryx who then opened the door.
A fairly young looking man entered the moment the door opened. He had long white hair which reached his waist. His facial features were perfect, appearing like a handsome devil. On his right ear he had a ghastly demonic face earing.
“We humbly greet Master White Devil!”
The four men stood by the side were kneeling towards White Devil, they shouted out in unison.
White Devil didn’t spare them a single glance, directly walking towards a table.
“Rise.” White Devil’s voice was soft and pleasing to hear. However it had a faint chilliness to it.
The four men stood up with Raven in the lead.
White Devil pointed at a chair next to him. “Raven you sit.”
Raven quickly sat down next to White Devil.
White Devil then turned to look at Blacky.
Blacky suddenly felt immense pressure as he looked into White Devil’s grey eyes.
It almost seemed as if White Devil was the same age as Blacky. However there was over a two hundred year old age gap between them!
White Devil continued to look at Blacky for what felt an eternity, he finally spoke up. “You’re Blacky?”
Blackly gulped and nodded his head. Raven informed White Devil about Blacky.
White Devils eyed Blacky up and down. “You opened your spiritual world at the third level?”
Blacky replied honestly. “Yes.”
White Devil’s eyes flashed with a strange light. “You shouldn’t lie to me. I’ll rip out your soul and torture you for a hundred years.”
Blacky began to tremble in fright. “Master, I wouldn’t dare! I promise what I say is true.”
White Devil nodded slightly. “Naturally you wouldn’t. What is your background? ”
Blacky replied. “Master, I’m just an orphan. I was raised by Old Man Black.”
Blacky pointed at Old Man Black by his side that had his head down, appearing too afraid to look at White Devil.
White Devil glanced at Old Man Black for a second. “Yes, you’re the one who has a grudge against the grand tree sect. I thought you’d be dead by now.”

Old Man Black didn’t say a word.
“Blacky come sit here.” White Devil seemed to recognize Blacky. Old Man Black was left standing by the door with his head down.
White Devil turned to look at Eryx. “Servant, come here.”
Eryx respectfully stood by the table.
White Devil spoke coolly. “Inform me of who will be attending the tournament.”
Eryx didn’t hesitate, immediately answering. “Master, according to the information we have.. Your appearance is the most well-known, it seems everyone knows of the matter of you attending..”
White Devil replied with a slight nod. “This is my intention. What about the participants of the tournament?”
Eryx replied. “None of the participants other than Blacky are from the village. They all come from cities instead. There are two who stand out. One is a rank seven spiritual warrior from Denus Empire. He is being escorted by two Mortal Kings of the Denus Empire. We suspect that they will try to reel in the village chief, and take over control of the village.”
White Devil didn’t have any reaction.
Eryx continued after a brief pause. “The next is a member from the Extera Clan. He is also a rank seven spiritual warrior. His name is Hound Blight, he is sixteen years old. He opened his spiritual world at the fifth rank spiritual warrior stage.. Also it seems that he’s a disciple of the grand tree sect. His master is some unknown mortal king, it’s reported that his master has a scar on his face.”
White Devil smiled slightly revealing his two sharp canine teeth. “Hehe.. So I’ve managed to pull him in.”
Blacky listened by the side whispering into Raven’s ear. “What’s the Extera clan?”
White Devil turned to look at Blacky, evidently he heard his whisper. “The Extera clan is the second strongest clan in Denus Empire. The strongest is obviously the Denus Clan. Usually the Extera Clan doesn’t make any movement however..”
Blacky felt chills when he saw White Devil looking at him. He only calmed down after hearing White Devil’s explanation.
White Devil once again turned to look at Eryx. “Continue.”
Eryx nodded wiping the sweat off of his forehead. “Yes.. The Extera Clan has also sent a mortal king. Including his master that’s two… However the grand tree sect sent over two mortal kings as well. We have reason to believe that these four have something great planned out. It’s likely they will try to use this force to scare off the Denus Empire.” Eryx coughed unsure how to say his next words.
White Devil looked expressionlessly at Eryx. “You also mean to say, that they want to force me away?”
Eryx began to stutter as he spoke. “I.. I.. This.. It’s just that, that everyone knows.. Knows that you’ll be here Mast.. Master..”
White Devil rolled his eyes no longer paying attention to Eryx. “You may go stand next to that tool.”
Eryx awkwardly walked over to Old Man Black’s side.
White Devil turned to look at Blacky. “How confident are you up against Hound Blight?”
Blacky hesitated for a moment before replying. “If I use my elemental grade spear.. I’m ninety percent sure I can defeat him.”
White Devil raised an eyebrow as he looked at Blacky. “You can use an elemental grade weapon?”
Blacky nodded, he was too afraid to lie, or make jokes.
White Devil eyed Blacky. “I have a contract for you. The rewards will be great.”
Blacky’s eyes lit up. “Master, I’m willing to take on any mission.”
White Devil sneered. “In this tournament killing is not allowed. However I want you to kill Hound Blight, don’t worry though, if anyone dares to do anything you I’ll protect you.”
Blacky was momentarily stunned. To kill someone openly in the tournament? Hound Blight had at least two mortal kings on his side. Was White Devil trying to send him to his death?
White Devil coldly stared at Blacky. “What, didn’t you say that you will take on any mission?”
Blacky hurriedly shook his head. “Master what do you mean by that? Naturally I’ll handover Hound Blight’s head to you during the tournament… But the rewards have to be worth it.”
White Devil coldly eyed Blacky for a moment before smiling. “Heh, not bad, if you can kill him.. I’ll officially take you in as a disciple. Currently, I have no disciples, so I’ll train you well.”
Blacky nodded. In reality he knew that he didn’t have much choice in this matter. If he declined there was a good chance White Devil would kill him on the spot. However in the end, White Devil was a mortal king, Blacky could only beg him to become his true master.
At this moment there was a knock on the door. Eryx and Old Man Black dumbly looked at each other. What idiot was here to make trouble?
White Devil frowned slightly as he glanced at the door. “So he’s finally arrived.”

Magic Squared
A world filled with magic, quite generic in outward appearance has one underlying mechanic that makes it oh so very powerful for one man, or now thing. Christopher Collins (Chris) is reincarnated into a fantasy world to regain memories of his former 19 years of life and discovers that the magic of his new world is closer to science than many realize. Follow Chris as he falls into an unfortunate series of events to become something more...or perhaps less. This will be a story of magic, blood and physics. On advisement I have changed the synopsis, originally I tried to be vague and hide the plot twist/ change so here is a disclaimer. The first 10 chapters are the buildup to the real story. I will re-write them at some point but for now, they provide a small glimpse into the story and allow for a fats bit of character progression. ⚠️ may have unexpected plot twists, the MC changes quite a bit in the first 10 chapters ⚠️ The Basics: Spoiler Magic: Yes Smartphones: No Martial Arts: Some Monsters: Yes Adventure: Yes Basic Physics: Yes Dialog Boxes: No Updates: Currently about 4 chapters a week now that I'm off my exams. Author : This is my first attempt at a fiction on RR and hope you can be lenient with me about grammar and spellings. Please point them out and i'll try to fix them ASAP for your smooth reading pleasure. Content: The MC will be powerful but not broken, he will win with intelligence and a deep understanding of how magic and physics works, this means his magic is powerful but not broken. I do not plan for Harems, or overly vertuouse MC. I will try to keep his personality as realistic as possible. NO “i will feed the world by growing potatoes shit” Notes: (I do not own the art for the cover of this novel)
