Chapter 14: A New Teacher
Blacky glanced at the sky in the direction Cool Breeze flew. In a flash Cool Breeze disappeared from his sight.
Everything was incredibly silent. Moments ago there were countless people in the surroundings chattering about. Now all that was left was lifeless corpses lying around the arena.
He couldn’t exactly tell how all of the villagers died. But he noticed that all of the dead were bleeding black blood from their orifices.
“Sir Raven, is Breezy a Mortal King? And are the people from the Demonic Cult Crew real demons?” Blacky asked Raven a series of questions.
Currently Blacky was heavily injured and found it hard to move on his own. He could only rely on Raven for help.
Raven shook his head with a sigh before replying. “No, the third prince should be an Elemental Warrior. But with the Flames Horizon, it’s possible he can pose a threat to even Mortal Kings.”
Blacky was completely shocked. By normal standards he was considered fairly talented. Yet compared to sect disciples he was lacking by far.
“The third prince is a heaven defying talent. His father is a Celestial, the Sect Master of the Demonic Cult Crew. It’s likely that he’s the strongest expert of Denus Empire. The third prince has his own issues that I’m not clear about. I presume it has something to do with the heritage of the sect. Otherwise someone like him wouldn’t appear in a place like this.”
Raven’s eyes coldly glanced around the arena before he turned to look at Blacky.
“I will tell you one thing. In this world the powerful decide what is true and false. The Demonic Cult Crew is not a sect for demons. But the name itself shows their nature. Many have suffered in their hands, yet they still exist do you understand?” Raven unemotionally spoke as he walked towards the corpse of the Village Chief.
Blacky thought for a moment before replying. “Teacher told me not to involve myself with things I shouldn’t.. There are a lot of things going on in the world which are unimaginable. But if they don’t directly bring harm to me, why should I care? And even if they did, what exactly can I do about it?”
Blacky didn’t have any friends or family. He would either spend his time with Old Man Black, or the drunkards of Tifili Village. This was how he was raised.
Raven eyes shined as he nodded. “That’s a good way to look at things. You can only live life if you’re alive.”
While Raven spoke he picked up the Stone Elements Edge, then a brown pouch. The Stone Elements Edge was a spear made for Elemental Warriors.
Blacky’s heart began to race faster as he watched Raven’s actions. This was the perfect time to plunder this place. He struggled to get up on his feet.
“Don’t try to move. Currently there is Elemental energy within your body. Your injuries are far worse than you can imagine.” Raven coldly spoke as he walked back to Blacky, the spear was no longer in his hands.

“Elemental Warriors can grasp the power of an Element. You’ve been infected by the third prince’s attack. You’re lucky he held back at the last moment, otherwise..” Raven’s tone was cold as he spoke to Blacky.
This was the first time Blacky heard of such things and couldn’t help be curious. “Then was the dark clouds an elemental attack?”
Raven nodded. “A very high level one. It’s an attack which involves the dark element. It’s pointless if I tell you anything more.”
Blacky sighed in amazement. “Isn’t that too terrifying? Everyone in the arena died because of that attack. They didn’t even have a chance to react.”
“Not only did everyone in the arena die, everyone within Stone Village should be dead.” Raven said seriously. “Elements being used by a Mortal King are similar to poison. Those that aren’t high level Spiritual Warriors will surely die. The life and death of mortals are completely in their hands.”
Blacky couldn’t help but admire the strength of a Mortal King. However he thought how everyone within Stone Village was dead. Didn’t that mean there was free loot everywhere?
“Sir Raven, there is so many shops in the village. The Village Chief must also have a treasury, we must loot them all!” Blacky’s eyes flashed with greed as he spoke.
Raven smiled hopelessly. Blacky was so young yet he had such thoughts in such a situation.
“So many good things but how will we take them?” Blacky had tears in his eyes as he thought out loud.
Raven suddenly reached out his hand towards Blacky then said. “Let me see that ring.”
Blacky suddenly remembered the ring which Cool Breeze gave him. He took it off and tossed it to Raven without much care.
“Sir Raven, is this ring worth anything? I’ll sell it to you for the right price.” Blacky didn’t care about cosmetics. He hoped to make some money from selling the ring anyways.
Raven took the ring and ignored Blacky’s words. A moment later four white circular pills appeared in Raven’s hands. He closely inspected the four pills, with a greedy look appearing in his eyes.
Blacky couldn’t help wonder where the pills came from?
Raven turned to look at Blacky with a mocking smile. “I do not have the wealth to buy this ring, or what’s inside.”
“What’s so good about it?” Blacky asked with some surprise.
“These four pills are great for Spiritual Warriors specifically. They have no impurities, only the highest ranked disciples of sects can get their hands on such a pill. If they could collect a decent amount, they could reach the Elemental Warrior stage in a week or so.” Raven smiled as he showed Blacky the pills in his hands.
Blacky couldn’t help looking at the pills with some greed. “Sir Raven, are you giving me these pills for completing the mission?” He could only guess why Raven was telling him this.
Raven laughed grimly. “How can the Bounty Hunters Association afford to give it away? Even a top sect like the Demonic Cult Crew would only give it to their top geniuses. The Third Prince most likely had some extra on himself.”

Raven waved his hand and the four pills disappeared. Blacky couldn’t help feeling wronged. He got beat up for these pills. He wanted Cool Breeze to come back and beat him up some more. At that time he could instantly become an Elemental Warrior.
“The ring that the third prince gave you is very special. It’s known as a spatial ring, it can store a vast amount of things within. I happen to have one as well but its quality is lacking compared to yours.” Raven casually put the ring on his finger.
Blacky didn’t know what to say. He only nodded his head sadly as he saw the ring on Ravens hand.
Raven chuckled when he saw Blacky’s reaction. “Worry not. I’ll give you this ring back. The problem is that only those who are above the late stage of the spiritual warrior stage can use this ring.”
“On top of that many people know of the value of these rings. If you simply wear it you may bring some unwanted attention.” Raven spoke truthfully. Although he was somewhat dark and heartless, he still had some morals.
Blacky didn’t totally trust Raven but he still had some other hopes. “What about the golden leaf? It should be around here right? And with that storage ring we can rob so much more things!”
Raven shook his head. “Our time is limited. With so many corpses around here, death energy will quickly gather. Ordinary people wouldn’t discover this but strong elemental warriors would. The Denus clan will likely have some people scout this place out. It would be bad if we’re found. As for the golden leaf, I already have it. You can use it shortly.”
“But, but, sir Raven even if they do come they wouldn’t know it’s related to us. After all we’re not strong enough to do something like that. We’re also not members of the demonic cult crew!” Blacky wasn’t willing to let things go like that.
Raven replied with a slight smile. “You’re words are wise, but you don’t know enough. Do you think we would be standing here if we weren’t related to the demonic cult crew? The bounty hunters association is a small branch of the demonic cult crew. The Denus clan definitely knows this.”
“Secondly, I’m the branch head of the Bounty Hunters Association of Tifili Village. I can be considered fairly famous, so it’s impossible to hide my identity. As for you? Look what state you’re in, even simple movements can lead you to your death.” Raven was very open with Blacky. Blacky’s talents were intellectual, not physical. He was shrewd and adapted quickly to situations. People like that were needed in the bounty hunters association. He even had a little friendship with the third prince. All that Blacky needed now was time to grow.
Blacky was awed. Only in his dreams could he join a sect, yet now it seemed he had some hope!
Raven flicked back his long hair then looked up to the sky. “Two and a half months. I will personally train you. For now the most important thing you should be thinking about is firstly, your recovery, and secondly increasing your strength. Understood?”
Blacky nodded his head back and forth with excitement. To be trained by an Elemental Warrior was marvelous. “Yes branch head! I will work hard! My ultimate goal is to become rich and strong! To never eat food again!”
Raven’s opened and closed his mouth. Hearing Blacky’s enthusiastic voice he could only weakly nod his head.
Raven then pulled out a black whistle from his pocket. Dark energy gathered around his hand, into the whistle. He then blew into it.
The sound of the whistle was sharp and gloomy. Soundwaves spread throughout Stone Village and into its surroundings.
Blacky covered his ears as he felt a ringing pain in his ears. He looked up to the sky in the direction Raven was looking at.
Suddenly a huge black bird appeared from the north. It let out a sharp cry as it flew towards Raven and Blacky’s direction.
The bird landed directly in front of Raven. Blacky’s eyes opened widely as he saw the bird which was as tall as Raven.
Raven smiled as he patted the huge birds head. “This is a demonic beast known as the raven lord. It has been my companion since I was young. His name is Black Bird.”
When the raven lord heard its name it chirped happily. Its red eyes proudly glanced at Blacky for a moment before ignoring him.
“Black Bird. We need to leave this place. Take Blacky and fly to the mountains towards the north. I’ll meet you there, ok?” Raven pointed at Blacky as he spoke with the bird.
Black Bird seemed to understand as it nodded its head. The bird lowered its head and walked towards Blacky who sat on the floor.
“Branch Head. This bird will eat me!” Blacky tried to crawl away from the huge black bird.
Black Bird saw Blacky retreating. It immediately felt angered. Suddenly it opened its two large wings then swooped at Blacky.
Blacky covered his head as he crouched on the floor. Black Bird chirped as its claws suddenly ripped into Blacky’s loose robes. Then it chirped once more as it flew into the sky.
Raven sighed. “Doesn’t he know that running from beasts will trigger them?.. It’s a good thing that Black Bird is good with humans.” After saying that Raven turned into a shadow as he disappeared from the arena.
