Chapter 5: Clean Retreat
Ten or so village guards currently had Blacky surrounded. Many people couldn’t help but draw their attention towards the scene.
“Hey, isn’t that the thief who always steals from the stalls here?” A villager spoke up.
“It is! I saw him rob wine from Red Blood’s stall. Is this kid finally going to get caught by the village guards?” Another man spoke.
Cool Breeze couldn’t help but laugh cause of Blacky’s misfortune.
Kaffir saw all the eyes on him and couldn’t help but proudly speak. “Brat, watch what happens when you offend a Spiritual Warrior!”
After saying that, he charged at Blacky with his sword in hand. “Die!” Kaffir swung down his sword at Blacky.
Blacky smirked. Clearly Kaffir had not realized he was a level two Spiritual Warrior yet.
“I’m sorry, I don’t have time to play with you..” Blacky stated as he sidestepped Kaffir’s strike.
Kaffir snorted. “Lucky once, but now you’re dead!”
Blacky took a glance at his surroundings, currently he was within Tifili Village. If he stayed here too long more village guards would arrive. As he thought of this he reached into his robes.
Kaffir didn’t notice Blacky’s movements. Filled with anger, he swung his sword at Blacky once more.
Blacky’s eyes focused on the blade which was approaching him. He felt incredibly calm as he faced the strike.
Blacky ducked down, and the sword above his head just narrowly missed. Dodging the strike Blacky took advantage of the moment by landing a kick onto Kaffirs stomach.
Kaffir suddenly felt extreme pain as he coughed up some blood. He couldn’t believe how Blacky’s strike injured him so much.
Once Blacky got an advantage he wouldn’t give his opponent any opportunities to fight back. But this time it was different. He used the momentum from his kick to take a large leap back in front of one of the village guards.
The village guard looked at Blacky with some fear. Before he could react he felt as if something pierced his neck.
Blacky had slashed out with a dart in his hand, ripping open the guard’s neck and causing blood to pour out.
Kaffir was trembling while holding onto his stomach. He felt as if he greatly underestimated Blacky.
Blacky once again turned around and threw the dart in his hand directly at Kaffir’s right eye.
He didn’t wait to see the results of his attack. Immediately afterwards, Blacky grabbed the bag on the floor. He dashed past the guard who was bleeding out of his neck on the ground.
“Ahhh!” A loud scream from one of the female bystanders could be heard.
Kaffir’s eye was hit by a dart which wasn’t the first time. However Blacky was a lot stronger. His dart didn’t just blind Kaffir, it pierced into his brain and killed him on the spot.
The village guards and the crowd of people couldn’t believe their eyes. Only a few seconds passed and the boy in black killed two village guards.

“What!! That boy just easily killed Kaffir, a level two Spiritual Warrior!” A man watched on in shock.
“He must be long gone by now, he always manages to escape. But this time he actually killed two guards!!” A farmer called Eanor stood near his chicken stall and spoke out.
Cool Breeze took a glance around, his eyes turned to the location Blacky had ran off to. “What an interesting fellow. Hahaha.”
Cool Breeze casually made his exit. The crowd and village guards all ran around in dismay.
…
Blacky had already taken off his scarf. He managed to slip out of Tifili Village within moments.
Blacky’s eyes were shooting around the entire area. Currently all his only thoughts were keeping clear of the village guards.
*Pa.. Pa..Pa* The sounds of clapping could be heard.
Blacky felt startled as he noticed a white haired youth appear behind him.
“Young Master Breezy..? How did you manage to escape?” Blacky was beginning to feel Breezy was more and more mysterious.
Blacky had grown up as a thief. Tifili Village was one of his favourite targets. He spent a lot of time finding feasible escape routes, just in case.
Cool Breeze laughed. “If you can escape, how can I not?”
Blacky coughed lightly and replied with a smile. “Young Master Breezy is so exceptional..”
Cool Breeze snorted and carelessly laughed. “Your true nature can’t be any good. Randomly killing two village guards, who merely came to enforce the law.. How righteous..”
“Young Master Breezy, how can I be blamed? They are just bullying the young. If they didn’t attack me first, I wouldn’t have needed to act.” Blacky explained with an ‘innocent’ expression.
Blacky rubbed his chin feeling slightly surprised at his own strength. Originally he only planned on blinding Kaffir’s remaining fine eye.
Of course Blacky wouldn’t blame himself. If one had the thought of harming him, they could not blame him for being merciless.
Blacky sighed and softly said. “How sad.. I only have three more darts remaining.”
Cool Breeze snorted and began walking away, Blacky immediately caught up with Cool Breeze. “Wait for me!” he shouted.
Cool Breeze continued to walk, while not speaking a single word.
“Young Master Breezy, do you know anything about Stone Village?” Blacky asked out of boredom.
Cool Breeze shook his head and replied. “All I know is that villages are a place where trash gathers together.”
Blacky coughed slightly and replied with a nod.
Cool Breeze took a glance at Blacky then said. “How did you reach the Spiritual Warrior stage?”
Blacky thought for a moment, he already consumed the brown pill. Now there was no reason to keep the information a secret.
“Well, my teacher gave me a brown pill which helped me breakthrough two levels.” Blacky said.
Cool Breeze suddenly grinned then said. “A brown smelly pill that helped you breakthrough two levels?.. Hahaha.”

Blacky was alarmed at how Cool Breeze accurately guessed that the pill was smelly. He didn’t mention this detail.
“Young Master Breezy, have you heard of this pill before? Do you know where to get some more?” Blacky’s eyes lit up as he intently asked Cool Breeze.
Cool Breeze laughed, and then said. “Naturally I’ve heard of this pill.. It’s a pill usually made by low-grade pill masters. They use natural ingredients, generally made by the mounts of these pill masters.”
Cool Breeze grinned, he appeared unusually joyful. “They generally use the beasts shit to create the pill.. Most of the beasts used are at the Elemental Stage.. Their shit can be considered a treasure for those like you.”
Blacky felt a bit grossed out at this moment, he then said. “I wonder if Young Master Breezy has such pills on him?”
Blacky spoke with a smile, he thought about how Cool Breeze made items appear out of thin air. He intently looked at Cool Breeze’s hands as if waiting for something.
Cool Breeze saw Blacky staring intently at him appearing like a beggar.
Cool Breeze shouted out. “No I don’t carry around such poor pills on me.. And even if I did have some, I wouldn’t give them to you!”
Blacky put on a pitiful expression after being rejected. He still hoped that he could change Cool Breeze’s opinion.
“Young Master Breezy, can you make more items appear?” Blacky smiled, he even bowed his back slightly trying to seem honest.
Cool Breeze cursed Blacky in his mind. This was the first time he had met such a shameless person in his life.
Blacky didn’t receive any answer, which in turn caused him to curse Cool Breeze in his mind.
Time continued to flow by. Stars began to shine in the sky, yet the duo remained silent.
Cool Breeze didn’t seem to have any thoughts on taking breaks. He walked across the sandy roads with no worries at all.
Blacky on the other hand was starting to get hungry. As a Spiritual Warrior he required less sleep and food. Nevertheless he couldn’t completely ignore his body’s needs.
Blacky took off the bag on his back, and then sat down by the side of the road.
Cool Breeze was still intently leading the way, when he noticed Blacky eating he had no choice but to wait.
Blacky was stuffing some white rice into his mouth with his hands. Cool Breeze felt disgusted at the sight.
Blacky then glanced at Cool Breeze who was also looking back at him.
Blacky immediately shut the bag. His eyes cautiously observed Cool Breeze.
At this moment Cool Breeze felt the urge of vomiting up blood. Did the buffoon think he wanted to share the food with him?
One had to keep in mind that Cool Breeze was the one who gave all the food to Blacky. Yet Blacky was still this stingy..
Blacky noticed Cool Breezes face distort, he felt as his worst thoughts were coming true. Cool Breeze wanted to eat his food!
Blacky no longer bothered chewing the rice, and began to swallow it all down.
Cool Breezes face was turning red in anger. When he saw Blacky clean two boxes of rice within seconds, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Blacky decided to quickly change the subject by saying something random. “Uhh.. Does Young Master Breezy know the requirements to join a Sect?”
Cool Breeze inhaled deeply and tried to calm himself down. “Naturally I know, but I won’t be telling you.”
Blacky coughed then smiled while shaking his head, appearing to have expected this answer. “I see.. Young Master Breezy, there is no need to answer me if you don’t know the answer to the question.”
Cool Breeze snorted and shouted out in rage. “What?! I’ll answer you right now.. Elemental Stage warriors at the early stages can be outer sect members. Mid Stage Elemental Warriors are then promoted to the inner sect members. Core disciples are all late Stage Elemental Warriors. When one is above the age of twenty-one they take on different roles depending on the Sect.”
Blacky sighed then shook his head. He simply didn’t believe he could compete with those sect disciples.
“Then is the Sect master a.. Mortal King?” Blacky knew this was the stage above Elemental Warriors. According to Old Man Black, people who reached this stage were the absolute top experts within Denus Empire.
Cool Breeze’s eye twitched as he heard the words Mortal King. “No.. Mortal Kings can only be considered the top within the Empire. All the Sect Elders must be at the Mortal King stage. There is even a few in the younger generation who’ve reached this stage.”
Cool Breeze clenched his hands when he said his final sentence.
Blacky sighed in his heart. Even if Cool Breeze denied that he was a Sect member. Blacky wouldn’t believe him at this point.
“Then how strong is the Sect leader?” Blacky asked with his eyes shining.
Cool Breeze sighed, and a strange glow appeared in his eyes. “The Sect leaders are all terrifyingly powerful. They have all reached the Celestial Stage. It’s said when one reaches this Stage they can live for over a thousand years.”
Blacky opened his mouth but no words came out. He heard that the Sects had been around for over a thousand years. He found it hard to believe, but now hearing Cool Breezes words, he had no choice but to believe.
