《RE: Cooking knife》3. Another Beating

After leaving the blacksmith to set out for my journey I began thinking of ways to improve my cutting skill and wondered if I would improve them by gaining exp, but I was interrupted….
>stab
*Dunin*
You have dealt a critical hit 78 Damage.
By slaying Barry you have gained 1 level.
“………..”
“YOURE KIDDING ME?!!”
“WOMAN YOU HAVE BETRAYED ME!!!”
“Right after I made my vow to never hurt someone….. Why, WHYYYYY”
>wakes up‘Uhh’ *blinks*
What just happened I didn’t kill someone did I?
With a loud voice I shout “Almighty Status Window!!”

Thank god still level 1, I almost lost it haha…ha…ha
Ah I seem to have fallen asleep after we left the blacksmith, ‘hmm’ if I’m not prepared and fall asleep when Thea needs to cut something it would certainly be problematic all cooks know preparation is important, so I have to find a solution for this sooner or later. I will leave it aside for now since it seems that we’ve just entered the garden of my new home. Though I’m really nervous thinking about how to present myself to the rest of the family I focus on my senses trying to gain information about my new family when suddenly I hear a voice. ‘Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock’
What in the world is this?!
‘Lock, Unlock, Lock’
It’s a lock?
‘Unlock, Lock, Unlock’
“Uhm sir Lock would you be willing to tell me something about our owners?”
‘Lock, Unlock, Lock’
“Sir?”
‘Lock, Unlock, Lock’
It seems it can’t speak or it can’t hear me probably both. But still this is interesting, I seem to be able to use ‘Metal resonance’ to resonate with lock-san and hear its thoughts.

Metal Lore.
You’re able to understand the essence of metal objects.
That’s kind of neat isn’t it, if only they knew more words. Trying to have a conversation with someone that can only speak two words is kind of tiring you know.
Leaving that aside after giving the people inside my courteous introduction it seems that I’ve been put down on a table.
‘It’s cooking time!’
*Dunin*
Boris has equiped common kitchen knife.
‘Say what!?’
‘Sniff, Sniff I wanted Thea to be my first…….’
For retaining my dignity I will not go into further details, all I will tell you is that I’ve gained the subskill green-cutting.
Green-cutting(passive)
Through practice you are able to cut greens easier. Increases your surface resistance by 5% when cutting greens.
When supper came, at least so I thought since I have no sense of time, I felt fingers reaching out for my handle I had a bad premonition about what was to come and a shiver went down my spine, when the hand closed around me the holy box appeared.
*Dunin*
Thea has equiped common kitchen knife.
I let out a deep sigh, the tension in my body was washed away and I felt relieved.
Finally I can serve someone skilled in handling a kitchen knife unlike that barbarian from before, Leaving my life in the hands (literaly) of Thea I anticipated a pleasant experience but I couldn’t be more wrong.
The first cut felt like I was slicing through a somewhat tougher substance compared to the greens from before. Feeling this sensation and using the skills of a cook that I had build-up over the years I immediately knew that this was what was called meat.
The cut was made in a fluent motion, by using the right parts of my sharp blade I sliced straight through the meat in a clean cut and instantly reaching the bone, It made me proud that I was able to present such a feat for my owner. This feeling quickly dissipated when I felt my body being rammed against a thick bone.

“WH-, WH-, WHAT THE HELL?!! I Am NOT A Butcher Knife!!”
Again I felt my body hitting the hard bone while dulling a small part of my blade.
*Dunin*
Due to crude handling you have lost 0,05 Sharpness.
Due to crude handling you have lost 0,1 Durability.
‘YOU’RE KIDDING ME?’
“BOORRIISS, BOORRIISS I’m so sorry take me back please, Please Boris....”
After what seemed to be a fifteen minute long traumatizing experience, again no sense of time, and the loss of 1,6 durability, 0,8 sharpness I made a mental note to again never trust a woman’s skill with a knife without having experienced it firsthand and with that I don’t mean in the same way as that time when the girl stabbed me to death. that is just such a wrong way of displaying you knife handling people.
Strangely after all the beating I got a peculiar message
*Dunin*
You have gained the skill:Bloody slash(passive)
You have gained this skill through your legendary *cough* battle and your knowledge about the animal body.
Increases your surface resistance by 5% when slicing through meat.Bone cutter(passive)
You have gained this skill through your legendary *snicker* battle and your knowledge about the animal’s bones.
Bones seem to be softer on impact, your sharpness is increased by 5% when cutting bone.
Strengthening my resolve for the upcoming beatings I was determined that I will endure so that I in time will achieve my goal, to cook!
Ps. I just noticed that sharpness and surface resistance seem to have a similar effect when cutting things….. surface resistance increases speed in air and water though….. got any tips about this ? xD
Minor Spoiler. Select the text to see!

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
