《Heavenly Eclipse》Chapter 24 - Transformation

Just as Feng Yinhai’s palm was just about to reach Zhao Feng’s head, Mu Chen, who was lying silently in the water, opened his eyes. As he did so, they both glowed momentarily. One was a striking violet, and the other a brilliant gold color. The crack in the rock face behind Zhao Feng, which led to the cavern, immediately exploded in a rain of rubble, throwing up a huge cloud of dust. A shadow emerged from the smoke, but it moved so fast that no one could even see it.
In the blink of an eye, the shadow appeared in front of Feng Yinhai and struck him at incredible speed. In this instant, he felt like he had been hit by a mountain as he was swept off his feet and flung into the distance without even being able to resist. He had a look of utter disbelief on his face as he sailed through the air and crashed into the ground, rolling for several more seconds until he managed to regain his footing. Feng Yinhai felt a dull pain in his chest. Looking down, he could see that his Earth grade armor had a distinct palmprint deeply imprinted in the center of it.
“Who?!” Feng Yinhai immediately looked up.
As the dust cleared, the scene became visible. Standing in front of Zhao Feng was a dark haired youth around fifteen or sixteen, wearing a white robe. He stood facing Feng Yinhai with his hands behind his back and an expressionless look on his face. His eyes were as dark as the night sky and deep like a bottomless abyss. Feng Yinhai felt a slight chill in his body from merely looking at them.
“Big brother! You’re awake!” Zhao Feng’s face lit up with joy when he saw that familiar back.
“Little brother, you’ve done enough. Leave the rest to me.” Mu Chen glanced back at Zhao Feng, who lay on the ground, heavily injured and unable to move a muscle. It was clear he had already done all he could.
Zhao Feng felt relieved as well as a warm feeling in his heart. His big brother had finally awakened, meaning he had overcome the transformation!
“Brat, who are you?” Feng Yinhai eyed Mu Chen vigilantly. He could not sense anything from this youth at all. From what he could tell, there was no trace of qi or vitality coming from this person. His presence was akin to an empty void, there was just nothing there. This was not possible as the youth standing in front of him was clearly alive.

“An insignificant ant is not fit to know my name.” Mu Chen replied expressionlessly.
“Arrogant brat, die!” Feng Yinhai’s expression twisted into one of fury as he leapt forward like a ferocious beast. This kid actually dared to look down on him? He was a Sea Forming realm cultivator, and this youth looked like he was only fifteen or sixteen, no way he was as strong as him!
His hand changed into a claw as he swiped viciously at Mu Chen, who stood there without moving. To his surprise, his hand passed through Mu Chen’s figure, like he wasn’t even there in the first place.
“What?!” Feng Yinhai’s eyes widened in shock as the Mu Chen in front of him vanished into thin air. It was an afterimage!
“Too slow.” A voice came from the side.
Bang! Mu Chen kicked Feng Yinhai in the side, sending him flying once again. This time, the imprint of a foot was left on the side of Feng Yinhai’s Earth grade armor.
Mu Chen’s body flickered as he vanished and reappeared in front of Feng Yinhai, whose face was frozen with shock. Mu Chen then unleashed an unstoppable barrage of punches on Feng Yinhai, who felt like he was being struck over and over by a barrage of thousand kilogram rocks.
Dozens of fist imprints were left all over the surface of his armor as he coughed out a mouthful of blood and fell backward onto the ground. Most of the force of each punch was dissipated by his armor, but his body had also sustained some damage each time, which had compounded. Even with his qi barrier up, he was still being injured.
“How is this brat so strong?” Feng Yinhai’s brain was still unable to process what was going on. Every single strike this youth unleashed was as powerful as a Sea Forming realm cultivator’s attack, but Feng Yinhai could not detect any qi being used in his attacks at all. This meant that this brat’s physical body was as strong as a Sea Forming realm cultivator! This was inconceivable to him.
“Big brother is so powerful! Truly worthy of being called the strongest in his era!”
Zhao Feng was craning his neck as much as he could so he could watch the fight, since he could not move the rest of his body. When he saw Feng Yinhai being manhandled like a child and unable to fight back, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Hmph, you might have beaten me, but you are no match for my big bro! You are not even fit to carry his shoes!

“It seems that my physical body is at the Sea Forming level. Not bad.” Mu Chen noted with a look of approval. He had intentionally withheld from using his qi so he could test out the full strength of his new body. Feng Yinhai was the perfect training dummy for him to do so.
His entire body had undergone a complete transformation. His skin looked tender and rosy, like that of a baby’s, but it was tough as demon beast hide. His muscles were like steel fiber ropes and his bones were as hard as iron. Every time his heart beat, he could feel his blood rushing like a river through his arteries and immense power coursing through every fiber of his being. Mere punches of his using physical strength alone could generate gusts of wind. Moreover, Mu Chen could also sense that his meridians had been widened and thickened, increasing his power significantly.
“Brat, don’t get cocky! I haven’t even used my true strength!” Feng Yinhai was incensed when he heard Mu Chen’s words. He, Feng Yinhai, the strongest in the Nine Demon Gate’s outer court, was being used as a punching bag? No way!
He flipped his palm and a dark red pill appeared in his hand. Without hesitation, he popped it into his mouth. The moment it reached his stomach, the pill dissolved and streams of black red energy coursed through Feng Yinhai’s body.
“Bloodline Stimulation Pellet?” With one glance, Mu Chen could recognize this pill. It could temporarily awaken the dormant bloodline within one’s body, allowing the user to wield the power of the bloodline for a period of time.
Feng Yinhai roared toward the sky as his body began to transform. Dark fur started to appear on his skin as his pupils turned into slits. His muscles enlarged and his veins bulged out like worms. His ears began to sharpen like a dog’s ears and sharp teeth began to grow out of his mouth as he roared. Feng Yinhai had turned into something resembling a half man, half wolf. A powerful bestial aura overflowed from his body and washed over the surroundings.
During the process, Mu Chen did not even lift a finger to stop him. He merely stood there and watched with an amused look on his face, like a member of the audience watching actors perform a play.
Zhao Feng was also watching and his eyes almost popped out of their sockets when Feng Yinhai transformed. Never in his life had he seen anything like this before. However, he wasn’t worried for Mu Chen at all. He knew that he would definitely win!
“Arrogant brat, witness my true form!” Feng Yinhai growled menacingly. His voice had become low and guttural, no longer resembling a human’s.
“Devil Wolf bloodline? Only a Mystic Soul realm demon beast, it's really nothing much.” Mu Chen seemed disappointed as he commented with a dismissive glance.
“Brat, DIE!” Feng Yinhai roared in fury and charged forward, swiping his sharp claws down at Mu Chen’s head. He had clearly gotten much stronger, his speed and strength both increasing by a significant amount. By Mu Chen’s estimation, he strength should be around the fourth level of Sea Forming. Feng Yinhai was only at the first level previously, meaning he had shot up by three levels because of his beast form.
Mu Chen’s feet moved in a profound manner as he swiftly retreated and avoided the attack. The claw slammed into the ground, tearing through it like paper while leaving five deep gashes in the earth.
Feng Yinhai did not let up his attacks. He followed up every attack with another, charging forward as he clawed at Mu Chen relentlessly, but each time his attacks would miss as Mu Chen casually avoided them. Blades of air would fly out with every strike Feng Yinhai made, slicing up trees and rocks. One wind blade almost landed on the paralyzed Zhao Feng, causing him to nearly shit himself as his eyes bulged out.
“Brat, stay still and die!” Feng Yinhai roared savagely as he clawed downward with both of his hands.
“Looks like this is as far as my physical body can handle. I have to use my qi.” Mu Chen thought to himself as he spun sideways and avoided the attack.
Bam! The twin claw strike shredded through the ground like metal slashing through paper.
