It took a while for Neya to explain the pendant along with her meeting with a real god. It quite hard for the young king and the queen to believe the tall tale that Neya just told, but after seeing the seriousness in the elf girl eyes, they ignore the hard to believe part and focus on the pendant that could stop Yana.
After discussing the plan on how to get the pendant on the massive goddess, the meeting finally adjourned. Queen Lucilla left the tent and head to her own camp. The young king stays behind to work out the remaining part of the plan while Neya leaves the tent with Vel following behind her.
The moment Neya leave the tent, she was suddenly hugged by Kinnith that came out of nowhere. Surprised, the elf girl looks around her, she sees Vizrez is standing among the knights that she was fighting earlier. The cyclops woman is now seen very friendly to the knights that she is fighting earlier, it looks like she had made the knights her friends.
Then she moved her gaze behind the elf boy and saw her people with worried eyes and clear grief in them. Lilia is standing among the people with a look of worried on her face and a comforting smile. Melud is standing alongside his squads and holding tightly to the wooden staff that belonged to Nesto. Digia removes her captain's hat and rushes in for a hug.
Vel, a bit annoyed by Kinnith actions, join in the hugs. Then Lilia and Melud along his squad join in for a big embrace. Afterward, Grie along with his Windcutter crewmates joins in, and form an even bigger embrace. Neya feels the warmth and comfort that came from their hugs. It cause her to remembers the feeling she felt from a dream or hallucination that she had in the pit prison.
From afar, Queen Lucilla stare at the huge embrace that made out with different types of people and notice the common trait that they had; their love and trust toward each other.
"My Queen," Folmon called as he opens the door to the carriage then he notices the queen gaze.
"My Queen, forgive my rudeness, but it's not too late to mend the relationship you had with your daughter," Folmon comment.
"I'm not her mother, not anymore. I'm the Queen, I have my own subjects to worried about," Lucilla said with a cold and uncaring tone.
Lucilla board the carriage after looking away, Folmon notices the longing eyes that she gave off for a few seconds just before it became glazed. The Magister enters the carriage and closed the door behind him in which cause the carriage to move again.
Neya was about to cry because of the overwhelming happiness that she felt, but she held the tears in.
Then she said loudly, "My loved one, friends, and family. I know that I'm asking a lot from you after we just lost a great man, but I need your help again."
Her family and friends break away from the massive hug and listen to what she about to say. "I'm not strong. No, I am strong, but not strong enough to do this alone. What I'm trying to say is, I need your help again, to fight that massive thing and save the world."
"I know I'm asking you to risk your life again, and I understand if you don't want to. I don't judge you for leaving, I don't condemn you for leaving... What am I doing?... Why do I risk everyone life?" A few of her words trail off as she looks down to the ground.

"You risk everything because you care about us, without this world we would all be dead, right? You fight for us in any way you can, but you are not a fighter. You can't fight this battle alone, so we are joining you, right mates?" Grie said as he glances to his crewmates beside him, and they all let out a cheer.
"Nesto give me this wooden staff and tell me to lead. Then, my first order as a leader is to fight alongside you once more, right squad?" Melud said as he raises his wooden staff up in the air and all of his squad lift theirs.
"We are your friends, and you are part of the pioneers club and pioneers club stick together," Digia said as she pulls Lilia close to her side.
"Another fight, Why not? Besides, you owe me a lot of banquets," Vizrez let out a chuckle.
"Vel is with you forever," Vel said while bowing his head slightly.
"My friends and I are willing to join you. I let you go once, and I'm not going to let you go anymore," Kinnith said.
Both of the boy's words cause her cheek to rose up. Vel rolls his eyes at the elf boy words while jamming his elbow to Kinnith's side. Kinnith reply with the same behaviors which cause them both to glare at each other.
Neya looks at the determined, fearless faces of her family and friends.
She couldn't wish for a better family.
Far away in the distance, a black-haired elf girl is walking away from the camp with a sword strap onto her back, she stops on her track and looks behind her. Her gaze falls on the camp then to the massive tree in the distance, and it gravitates to the massive woman that is standing in the distance with her eyes closed.
Alasse raises her clench fist until it enters her line of sight. When she opens it, she sees her father pendant lay inside of it. She felt the regret of her action and realize what her father wanted her to do.
To start a new life without hatred in her hearts.
She closes her hand and continues to hike away toward Tinevic.
*
The morning sun lay its light upon the battlefield, banishing the darkness that was covering the battlefield. Thousands of knights and soldiers from both Kingdom line up at the top of the hill at their own respected territory and overlooking the battlefield while facing the massive woman.
Yana still ignores the thousands of mortals that are gathering around her tree and kept her stare at the sky.
Ariamnes ride his own horse while noticing a light mist are covering the area around the tree, and thousands of some sort of large cocoons protruded out from the ground. 167 walks up to the young king and said "My king, my scouts found no information on the cocoon, we have no idea what it is. My advice is to be careful around it."
Lucilla rides her horse among her army with Folmon keeping her safe by staying close to her side. Her stare gravitates toward the cocoons, and she advises her men to be careful.
Vizrez along with Melud and his squad stay among the Targia army with their weapons ready while they wait for the signal. Kinnith and his Wolics friends ready themselves mentally as they wait for the signal.
"My king, your men are ready as they can be, we all are waiting for your signal," A general ride up to the king and said.

"Ready to make the loudest noise you can, we need that woman to pay attention to us!" Ariamnes yell and his men hit the pommel of their sword against their metal armor to make some noise.
The young king took out his sword and yell out, "Sound the horns!!!"
The war horns let out a roar throughout the battlefield, lifting the knight's and soldier's morale. Then the Weyshers army let out a roar of their own as their own horn blast the battlefield.
"Charge!!!!" The king yells as he points his sword toward the woman.
Both of the Elven Kingdom army fire a volley of fireballs toward the massive woman first before the soldiers charge toward the cocoon filled battlefield. The fireballs hit the woman body, exploding on impact. However, it shows no clear effect on her body, but they did manage to grab the woman attention, anger can be seen on her face, and she pointed her hands toward the army.
As both of the army charge toward the cocoons, they can see it begin to pulse and throb violently. Suddenly all the cocoons pop like a water-filled balloon and puke out an army of twisted undead elves with overgrown vines that are sticking out of their body. The undead elves rush toward the soldier like an animal, the knights gulp down their own saliva in fear as they slow down their charge. However, they gather back their bravery and ready their weapon at their side while they charge toward the army of undead elves.
The elf army clash with the undead elves, a fight erupted the moment they met, bodies part fly around the battlefield as the strength of the undead elf was surprising, but Vizrez is stronger, and she mows down her enemy with a heavy strike while Melud and his squad take them down efficiently.
Kinnith supports his Wolics friends in a fight by striking the undead elf with a lightning spell. Folmon cast his own spell, then a large chunk of the rubble fall out from the portal that appears above the undead elf and crash into them.
Even with the full force of the two armies from the elven kingdoms, it was not enough. The army was getting overwhelmed by the number of the undead elf that kept rising. The knights and soldiers are slowly getting exhausted and sustain more injury over time. They can't hold it much longer, just they about to lose hope, Ariamnes ride through the line while raising his sword up in the air and yell out "Aperori Maximus!"
Thousands of golden rays of light shine upon on each of the knights and soldiers at the battlefield. Their body is filling up with stamina again while their injury heals almost instantly. The soldiers cheer as they continue to fight the undead elves. Then a wave of undead elf rush to the right side of their undefended line, the young king notice and ride his horse toward the right line.
After arriving at the right side, Ariamnes jump off his horse and stab his sword through the ground. The sword glows a golden hue, and he mutters, "Incernium Demiseo."
The ground split open in front of Ariamnes and molten earth rise up the swept the undead elves like ocean waves. It burns and melted the undead with ease while protecting the undefended right side of the front line. The young king felt exhausted as the use two large spells begin to drain him of Mana.
Queen Lucilla raise both of her hands up to the air and mutter "Immi Thundulus." The cloud darkens above the battlefield then suddenly a huge amount of lighting struck each of the undead elves below it, destroying their body and reducing their number.
While the fight continues on the ground, the Windcutter sneakily fly from behind the tree and head toward the massive woman. The flying ship slowly getting closer to the massive woman, when they are in range, Neya took out the pendant while Vel ready his bow and arrow.
"We need to get closer to Yana," Neya said.
The pendant glows a bright light suddenly, Neya looks at the pendant confused to what it is trying to do. The glowing pendant causes Yana to jerk her head toward the Windcutter as she notices the familiar energy that the pendant emits.
There is a look of anger directed toward Neya, she let out a hiss at the ship and raise her hands while pointing it toward the ship. Then a huge root arises from the ground and hit the side of the ship causing the Windcutter to shudder as the root scrape against the ship body.
"Damn it the plan is a bust! We need to turn around, or we all will be dead!!" Digia shouts as she tries to turn the wheel.
"We can't retreat! It's now or never!" Neya shouts back then another root scrape against the ship Magic engine.
Neya loses her footing causing her to trip over herself and accidentally let go of the pendant. She looks with shocked as the pendant slide toward the edge of the ship. The elf girl took off into a run toward the pendant, but she was too late as the pendant slides out of the ship. Without a second thought, she jumps out and grabs the pendant just before it was about to become out of reach.
However, when she looks back at the ship, the sudden realization of what she did stab her mind, fear and despair arise. She closed her eyes then felt someone grab hold of her ankle, and prevent her from falling even further. Neya opens her eyes again and saw Vel with a painful face as he grabs on to her ankle.
Another root hit against the ship causing it to tilt to the left and cause Vel to accidentally let go of Neya, but the elf girl manages to throw the glowing pendant to the Woodfolk boy just before she about to fall.
Vel catches the pendant and her eyes widen as she looks at the elf girl.
"Fire it!!" Neya screams as she falls toward the ground.
Vel clench his teeth then tied the pendant to his arrow and launch it across the sky. He then jumps out from the ship to chase after Neya while tossing his bow away. The arrow flew in speed toward Yana, from afar Neya could see the flying arrow when she looks back at the ship. She sees Vel extending his hand out to her after jumping out from the ship
Neya tears drip upward from her face as the wind carry it far away from her, she tries to reach for the boy's hand and manages to grab it. Vel pulls her closer into an embrace and whispers to her ears.
"I'm here."
Neya smile as her eyes filled with tears "I'm scared."
"I'm too."
The arrow sticks onto Yana body then the pendant touches her body causing her to be enveloped in glowing runes. The runes shine like the sun and overwhelm the entire battlefield. Then the light dissipates and the world completely stop. Neya couldn't move her body, but she could move her eyes, she looks at Oanis hovering above Yana in her otherworldly form and even bigger than the woman itself.
Yana screams in anger as she glares at the Oanis.
"I have failed you, daughter, I'm sorry."
"You left me! I hate you!!" Yana screams.
"I had too," Oanis said.
"Then I had to do this!" Yana said as she extends her hand toward Oanis, but nothing happens.
"What did you do!" Yana shouts.
"I strip off your power," Oanis said.
"You trickster, you said you can't meddle with mortal business," Yana said.
"I had a help from a little friend," Oanis said.
Neya felt her entire body along with Vel is being lifted up into the ship by a gentle invisible hand.
"What now, are you going to kill me?" Yana taunt.
"No, I couldn't because I love you... but my sister will do it," Oanis said.
"Aeterna?" Yana looks and saw the human-sized skeleton in a black robe, hovering in front of her while holding a large scythe and a black crow perching on her shoulder.
The sight of the other being cause an absolute terror in Neya hearts, she instantly knows who she is as if her image and name are ingrained into her mind. She has never felt this close to... death before. Even Yana felt the absolute fear when she laid her eyes upon the hovering skeleton.
The collector of souls, the harbinger of death, the grim reaper.
"Wait, No! Mother! No!!!" Yana screams in fears.
With a swipe of her scythe, Yana body instantly becomes lifeless, and the massive woman body was about to fall but stuck in time just like others. The goddess of death disappears into thin air just like how she came, it was that simple. Neya couldn't believe it, but she did because of she just witnesses it happens right before her eyes.
"Thank you, Neya. May you have a great life ahead of you." Oanis thanks.
Time move again and Oanis was nowhere to be seen. Yana lifeless body falls to the ground, the undead elves freeze mid-charge and fall limply to the grounds. The soldiers and knights cheer their hearts out as they had won the battles.
Vel looks surprised as he realizes that he is back aboard the ship with Neya wrap around his arms, the elf girl holds Vel closer to her body, and wishing to stay like this even longer. The Woodfolk boy gladly let Neya have her wish while the ship tremble as the Magic engine can't support them in the air anymore, it is heading to the ground, and Digia is trying her best to keep the ship from crashing into the ground.
From afar, Queen Lucilla sight follows the falling ship, some kind of instinct ignite inside her and causing her to cast a spell that forms a massive ice slide for the ship. The Windcutter slide down the ice and the bottom of the ship struck the dirt causing an immediate stop and throwing everyone aboard to the front of the ship where they hit their body against the wood rail.
Darkness overwhelms Neya's sight, and after a long silence, she felt her entire body being carefully lifted up just before she falls unconscious.
It was very cold until a warm hand takes hold of her hand, she opens her eyes and met with the ceiling of a tent. Her gaze falls to her side and saw her mother, looking at her while holding on to her hand. She was surprised to see her mother sitting at her side and to see the relief in her eyes when her mother sees her waking up.
Lucilla removes her hand then her eyes turn glazed over again. Her mother stands up from her stool and starts to walk toward the exit, but Neya called her out, stopping her from leaving.
"Wait!" She said.
"I don't understand. After all this time, after what you did, do you still care?" Neya ask.
"I don't know... Maybe I do," Queen Lucilla.
"I don't want it to end like this, I don't want to live with hatred in my heart. So can we start over?" Neya ask.
Queen Lucilla glance behind her and look at elf girl laying on the bed while cover with bandages. "I don't know... It's confusing, but if you want to, I can try," Queen Lucilla said as she has never been so uncertain in her life.
"Thank you," Neya said.
The Queen nodded her head before leaving the tent. Neya let out a smile as she wishes that Nesto would be here by her side and witness how much she has grown. Her thoughts are disturbed when two boys fall out from the entrance and into the tent.
Kinnith and Vel looking at each other feeling guilty because they had peeked through the door during her talk with her mom. Vizrez bust through the door with a loud roar, "The chief live again!!"
Then, family and friends start pouring in the tent wishing to visit the injured elf girl. They all had a big smile on their face as one by one come closer to Neya and hug her. She couldn't start smiling with happiness even though the hug is really painful because of her injury.
She had won, but still, she has a lot of work to do at the Outcast company if she wants to make it a home for all of them.
"Long live, Chief Neya, Slayer of the Wyvern Queen," They cheer and start to try to lift the bed in which Neya is laying on.
Neya tries to stop them, but they didn't listen. They lift her bed high up in the air while cheering her name on. Neya felt joy with embarrassment at the same time and a little bit of pain from the bed rocking side to side. She just laughs as they wouldn't listen to her and try to carry the bed along with her out of the tent.
"Let's go home," Neya said with a bright big smile.

8 8156Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.
8 228Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
